I have been going to grange farm now for a lot off years and ithought it was time I wrote a review. It is a lovely site toilets always very clean everyone concerned with the site are always welcoming. I go here every year now and have great holiday. I would recommend this site to anyone. The site is very quiet if that is what you want and just down road you have everything you need. I hope this review is usefull to anyone who is thinking of visiting this site

We stayed here just one night, it was my wifes first return to camping since childhood and ever since has an aversion to tents which is a shame as I am a scout leader and the 2 boys are in scouts and Explorers. We arrived at the site a little apprehensive with all the rules that seem to be on the information but we were greeted by a very welcoming host who showed us to the site and we were pitched and ready in 45 mins. The site is very tidy and there is a lot of space between pitches so felt very private, there are plenty of water points. The best parts are the toilets and showers which were spotless - a big plus with my wife. A bit different to scout camps. We have relatives at Frinton-on-Sea (15 mins away) so we had a great time on the beach on one of the hottest days of the year. A fish and chip supper from Kirby Cross (10 mins away) what could be better
I recommend this site

I go camping because my children enjoy it and I would be unlikely to go if it weren't for them.
As camp sites go this is nice. The showers are good, though there could be more of them.
People have made comments about it needing improving and the lack of a playground. It may have escaped their notice but it's an arable farm, the primary purpose of which is to grow crops. Farms are not naturally neat and tidy places. In short, IT'S A FARM! Don't go to a farm if you don't expect it to be like a farm (moan over!).

We spent five nights in our touring caravan at Grange Farm Campsite. We couldn't have wished for a more pleasant stay. Very friendly, plenty of space, peaceful surroundings, lots of nice walks for the dogs and beautiful scenic runs for my husband. A five minute walk into the village of Thorpe Le Soken where they have plenty of eating establishments, pubs and I even had my nails done at the beauty shop! Also a Tesco Express in the village which was handy. Shower/toilets were always spotless. Only one shower in each block but never had to wait/queue. 50 pence meter for 6 minutes shower time. Water always lovely and hot. The family run business is very friendly and Mary even came to say goodbye to us on the day we left. Our dogs loved the rural surroundings with horses grazing around the farm and the hay making in the distant fields made it just the peaceful break we needed. It is so convenient for trips to Frinton, Clacton, Walton on the Naze (all within 10 minutes drive) and all the places of interest you will want to visit. We wanted to stay longer so will definitely be going back!

On our arrival we were given a warm welcome from the owners and John the site warden, who is so friendly and helpful. The site is very clean and well kept. The toilets are basic but were always spotlessly clean. Although a working farm, the site is so peaceful, with many lovely walks all around the farm. There is pleasant a 10 minute walk to the village of Thorpe le Soken, where there is a Tesco Extra & a couple of very pleasant country pubs and excellent restaurants. Another bonus to the site is that Frinton on Sea is only a few miles away, with its beautiful beach, lovely shops and delightful bistros. Clacton on Sea is also near, for those preferring a livelier seaside resort. All in all, we will look forward to coming back.

We love this site! The owners and the warden are extremely helpful and friendly, the toilets are immaculately clean and it's in a lovely location. The site is very well run, which makes for a relaxing and peaceful break. There is a shop about 10 minutes walk through the fields and amazing views from the foothpaths nearby. We will be back! :)

Stayed here for two weeks in June. The site is really excellent. Within 10 minutes walk of the village of Thorpe le Soken. Three large fields, one for a limited number of tents (? 10), one for Camping Club members only and one free for others (us, as we are Caravan Club members) For three nights we were the only unit on our field and even at weekends the site was never crowded or noisy. Road noise is minimal and the trains are two fields away and the noise from them is minimal. Showers are 50p but as the site cost £15 per night this was not unreasonable. Glenn even gave me a free night at the end as we had stayed for a fortnight. The sanitaire is fine though the hand basins seemed unnecessarily small. Difficult to have a facial wash in them. The area has some lovely countryside, somewhat marred by a high density of road traffic - not the site owners' fault at all but of concern to us as elderly cyclists. Good beach at Frinton and I do love a sea swim. Morrisons supermarket nearby. Pubs in the village not up to much, hence I only visited once. Wine in camp listening to birds and feeding the ducks appeals more than noisy rock music and overpriced beer. When will the pub trade ever learn?! Frinton is nice - free parking on the Greensward overlooking the sea. Lots of interest in the area, Martello Towers, Constable country, Colchester not far away, National Trust places nearby etc. So a high rating for this site. Would go again. Thanks to Mary and Glenn for your friendliness and for running a really good site.

We have stayed at Grange Farm several times as it is local for us, and provides a lovely relaxing break, and is very close to amenities! A 5 minute stroll through the countryside to the local town where there are shops, pubs, restaurants and a takeaway - but return to the site and you could be a million miles away - just perfect! Facilities are very clean and modern, and checked throughout the day by the friendly and helpful staff. There are 3 distinct fields, and all types of unit are catered for, with adequate facilities for filling & emptying the essentials! With everything you may want within walking distance, a beautiful setting and owners who care and pay attention to the site, and the coast a mere 10 minute drive, whats not to like! Recommended for weekend and longer stays, and its popularity is clearly growing from the number of repeat visitors.

Good access to village a short walk across the fields. Train and bus stops in easy walking distance as well.
Toilet facilities very clean although I think only 2 per field is not enough especially if the site was busy.
A warden is on hand if anything is needed
I would like to see a grey water disposal point more accessible for motor homes.
All in all excellent value for money.

We chose the site because we wanted to visit the Airshow at Clacton-on-sea, but we would go back another time as it is a good site with good facilities and the owners / wardens were more than helpful and friendly.
The site is only a short distance from the village, with shops, pubs and eateries; you can walk there if you like across the fields. It's only a short drive to Clacton so we were right on the doorstep for the Airshow, but we saw other attractions advertised locally.
The site was quiet in location, with only the local railway line to be heard over the wildlife of the rolling landscape. The site is a working farm, so the odd tractor moved around the yard which was restricted from visitors for safety. The facilities are clean and acceptable, although one of the showers wasn't working very well at the time.
Children under 13yrs were not permitted in the toilet blocks without an accompanying adult; this was inconvenient when you are camped within view of the block and you'd like to kids to go on their own; when you're cooking or worse still, relaxing! There isn't a playground for the kids either, so they get bored easily. A couple of football goal-posts in one of the fields for them to kick about, but that's about it.
