What a gem of a site this is:Lidalia is small enough for Eddie & Gillian to know all guests and is big enough for plenty of space for all.

There are some statics and storage is available. Dogs are made welcome and there were some families.

Newcastleton was originally owned by the Dukes of Buccleuch whose family name is Scott.

The village is large, several pubs and cafes, two mini-markets and one butchers shop. The Liddel Water has a lovely riverside park and there is an Agricultural Show in August.

The main sport is the '7 Stanes' which is Mountain Trail Biking. Fuel is either at Longtown 24 miles round trip, Hawick 40 miles round trip or Langholm 24 miles round trip.

We were here for 2 weeks mid-October but didn't see any public transport running. The site is Caravan Club Affiliated with excellent facilities.

The ladies toilet building suffered from condensation on doors and windows as units were aluminium, but only needed wiping down for comfortable use.

We would both highly recommend a visit. We hadn't been to this part of Scotland before but it is very special.

Look out for the Railway Museum and Viaduct on the way to Hawick.

Hadrians Wall is worth a visit mainly for the lovely towns around especially Brampton.

The only downside was very poor mobile signals mainly due to the hills blocking the signals.

If you want a real adventure go to Lidalia in the Scottish Border country.

This is one of our favourite sites. As motorhomers and dog lovers we find it so good for places to eat with your dog, local shops, fabulous butcher, café and pub that do a takeaway service.

The walks along the river are fabulous, chance of seeing otters if you are up early enough, dippers too.

The site is so friendly with Eddie and Shona always happy to chat or help.

Only a small site of 30 pitches but shower rooms are lovely with basin toilet and shower all in one room, and never a problem waiting.

Cannot praise this site enough but don't tell too many!

Just spent 3 nights at this site, we stayed here several years ago. The toilet block excellent, always clean and tidy as is the whole site. The only noise that we could hear was the toads in one of the ponds. The whole site is level and all pitches are hard standing. Newcastleton is all flat as well, the main square has a cost cutter shop, the grapes pub serves food and dogs are welcome (they even get treats of the bar staff). The trap pub is a locals pub but very welcoming, in fact everyone you see talks to you. For a quiet break this is a site to try.

Stopped here 28th October for four nights, our motorhome, sons motorhome and a small romini caravan, ( extra bedroom for grandson). Eddie planned two great sites so we were all together.

People were so friendly and so helpful, toilets and showers were the best we have ever seen and used in the UK, warm clean and had all you needed to enjoy your ablutions (disabled well looked after here too ).

Beautiful scenery and some lovely walks. We enjoyed a day in Carlisle caught the

Bus in the village for a very reasonable price. We visited one of the local hostelries The Grapes where the welcome was fantastic, good pint for good price, dogs were welcome and even got doggie treats again people in the bar on the whole were very friendly. We had two meals here and thoroughly enjoyed them even though we thought the food was slightly overpriced.

This site was kept immaculately and the wardens were on the go all the time to keep it this way.

Certainly a site to recommend to people and friends. In the village, a really short walk away there are three pubs, Elliott's butchers, some lovely food here to be had, a gift shop stroke cafe, a bakers stroke cafe a small cost cutter supermarket with whatever you have forgotten to bring and a hardware shop with a bit of everything in. People were really friendly wherever you went, you have to try this site :)

This is a peaceful site in a quiet village - a great place to really relax. Good facilities well kept. The shop, post office, hotel that does meals, hardware shop & river are all within easy flat walking distance. One thing to bear in mind if you want TV not all pitches have an aerial socket on the EHU post. Some pitches are in shade others in the open & get more sun. We shopped at Morrisons easy to get to before going up to the site. No children with us so did not look for facilities for them.

Lovely site in the Borders. Toilets spotless and the owner friendly. Morning papers delivered to your awning. On departure he told us about roadworks which saved a frustrating journey. Local pubs friendly and a great afternoon of folk music at The Grapes. Would recommend as a nice stopover while exploring the area.

What a lovely site and lovely people who run it. The showers and toilet block a real luxury, shower rooms with toilet basin and shower lovely and warm with light sensors as you walk in and so clean. The site is well laid out and there is a duck pond with ducks walking around the site. We enjoyed it so much we have 2 more bookings so far this year. Local shops are easy to walk to, as are 3 public houses all of which allow you to take your dog and have a meal. A real gem.

We loved this site and only now have got round to add a review. It is so good we really have nothing to add to the other reviews but we wanted to contribute to the great scores. The site owner was very helpful and there is a great information hut. The Toilet & Shower facilities are among the best we have seen anywhere in Europe We will return next time we visit Bonnie Scotland
