Normally just the two of us, but on this occasion, we were a small family group (2 x tents + 1 x caravan)
Stayed 3 Nights: Good Friday to Easter Monday (03/04 to 06/04)
How's this for customer relations:
Due to unfortunate events elsewhere, it seemed our weekend plans were doomed, when I had the sense to ring here to see if they could accommodate us. (The alternative was to give up, and go home, but there were excited children to consider!)
It was touch and go, as not only did we want EHU, and not only were there three units in our party (2 x tents and a caravan) but it was also 1:30pm on Good Friday, and we were just 40 mins away!
Yes, he found us suitable pitches, (despite the extremely wet recent weather). Yes he managed to keep us pitched together as a group, (A bonus, particularly under the circumstances), and most importantly, he managed to do all this without compromising the comfort, privacy and space already afforded to those sensible enough to have made this site their first choice for the Easter weekend (unlike us, of course!)
I've reviewed this site before, back in July 2013, after our first visit, so I won't repeat what has previously been said. Suffice to say, we have since returned on two other occasions (before this one). Once in April '14, where if it wasn't for our matching his 'n hers push bikes, we'd have been the only two on site! Peaceful doesn't even start to cover it!
Our third visit was in July '14, as part of a small family group, similar to this one, but with proper sunshine!
Always a warm welcome from the owner. Always a good atmosphere, with decent, considerate neighbours, and well behaved kids, and always with that whiff of 'proper camping like it used to be'. (See my first review!)
Ok, on this occasion, due to the plentiful rains during the previous few days, parts of the site were very soft, and you had to be careful where you parked your car, but for pitching, there was absolutely no problems. No boggy areas, no puddles, and all the pegs held firm.
A great time was had by all, and I very much doubt this will be our last visit!
A massive thank you to you, Chris, for accommodating us at such short notice, and for going beyond the call of duty in getting EHU to our units. Very much appreciated. See you in the summer!

PERFECT! We have just returned home from West End Farm after our first ever camping trip with our five year old son. After finally getting round to take the plunge and 'GO CAMPING' I decided to check this web site for reviews as I found them to be very informative. We were looking for somewhere that was quieter or should I say more peaceful, close to the beach, safe for our son to play and with CLEAN facilities. From the reviews, West End Farm, ticked all of these boxes, and it certainly has with a very large tick. From my first contact over the phone with Chris, the owner, I knew we were in safe hands! We arrived an hour early but were greeted extremely courteously by someone at reception as Chris was out. We chose our pitch and were soon warmly welcomed by Chris on his arrival. I would love to keep this place a secret but had to share our very enjoyable experience. In particular the setting, the facilities; toilets, showers, pot washing, fridge/freezer and washing machine, were EXCEPTIONALLY clean, and believe me I am very fussy about this, We will most definitely camp again and it will be here! If you are looking for hustle and bustle and to trip over your neighbouring pitch with poor facilities then don't come here! this is a little gem of a site, it may just have made a camper out of this 'home comfort' lover.

This is a real gem of a site, we loved it so much we have taken a seasonal pitch. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and you can walk for miles on footpaths from the gate. Nearby are plenty of beaches and some dog friendly all year round. Nearby town of Louth is a pretty Market Town with lots of interesting shops and nice pubs. Site is spacious and toilets/showers are immaculate. Owner very friendly and helpful. It is very quiet and you need a car to get around, as adults we love it but there may be other sites that have more for children. Lots of wild life.

We found this delightful site in May where we stayed for a couple of nights on our way travelling up the east coast to Scotland and enjoyed it so much we returned in August to spend longer.
The very spacious site is nicely landscaped with well-kept lawns and shrubs which offer privacy and is very well looked after by its delightful owner Chris, whose home adjoins the site. He is always there if needed and can often be seen wandering around chatting to everyone and is just the right personality to run a site. Tucked away down a private track there is no road noise and because of the way the site is laid out there really isn't any noise from other campers either. For children there are just a couple of swings but plenty of open spaces and footpaths across farmland in every direction so if you enjoy walking or have dogs this place is ideal. The toilets and showers are kept spotless and have plenty of hot water, and the use of freezer and washing machine is at no extra cost. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen around the sight – including a barn owl!
Chris gave us directions to the local sandy beaches at Anderby Creek which are superb (and dog friendly) with several access points with car parks & toilets along the lane i. E. Marsh Yard or Hut Toft and if the seaside is what you want you need look no further - unless you want the bustle and funfair attractions of Skegness, Ingoldmells or Mablethorpe which are all just a few miles away. The local towns of Louth, Horncastle & Woodhall Spa are well worth a visit.
We found dog-friendly Hubbard’s Hill, on the edge of Louth, offers fabulous walks, ankle-deep streams where the children paddle & picnic areas and space for families to play and you can spend a day there for a minimal car park fee (again, ask Chris for directions as its not well sign-posted but is well-worth visiting).
This is a very beautiful area on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds and this is the perfect, relaxing campsite to stay on in our opinion. We will certainly be returning. Again and again.

(Couple - late 40's/early 50's - look for peace, quiet and tranquillity, but with a few mod cons. )
Just returned from a two night break. And a very enjoyable one at that.
I booked and paid over the 'phone late on the Weds evening, for arrival on the Friday. All went smoothly, and it ensured a brief but accommodating welcome upon our arrival. Handshake. 'Toilets there. Laundry and pot wash there. Fridge & Freezer. Water. Bins. Reception over there if you need me. The rest is common sense'!
Perfect!
No 3 page rule booklet or signs everywhere! :-)
The owner was subsequently spotted on a number of occasions wandering the site, checking all were ok, and came over for a convivial ten minute chat. The help/advise was there if you needed it, but you were equally 'left to your own devices'!
I can only guess this, as I have only camped for a year, but this place strikes me as 'camping how it used to be. And how it should be!'
The facilities weren't 5 star, but they were more than adequate, clean, practical, and accessible.
There were no 'quaint' touches, yet it was far from bland!
It was neither dated, nor modern.
Quite simply, it was 'Just very nice'!
Throughout the first afternoon, the ambience was one of extreme peace and quiet! As this was the day schools were breaking up for the big holidays, that evening saw the arrival of a number of families, but other than a couple of swings in the middle of the site, there is little to entertain the younger ones. This is where my earlier comment comes in. They made their own entertainment. And behaved impeccably! Yes there was noise. Laughter mainly. But come dusk, all settled down to what I imagine was about 1955!
(Ooh, and whilst it wasn't 2s6d per night, it was the cheapest site we have stayed at so far, so another brownie point for that!)
Absolutely wonderful atmosphere throughout the site, for the whole weekend.
We were non-EHU, and pitched in the first section, just to the right of the entrance gate. We spread out with a 4 berth (4m x 3m) tent and a tarp the same size. Plus guys. Plus large mpv. So all in all, we had plenty of room. Not sure what constitutes 'a full site', but whilst we were there, all were pitched around the perimeters, so no rows, nobody pitched 'opposite' you, and all nicely spread out.
There were a couple of the larger family tents, and one family had 2 x 4 berth tents, plus a 2 man pup tent, and kitchen stuff/chairs etc outside, all set out as one, so evidently, there are no rules about groups/families together, and no strict pitch boundaries. Room for all, it seems!
There is a 'main field, but with a few smaller open plan sections (almost 'alcove-esque'!) which each hold up to about 6 pitches. All pitches were unmarked. It's just EHU or non-EHU. Very easy going, but it worked extremely well. There was a little loose (uncollected) grass about, but nothing major, and the whole site was nicely grassed, at a comfortable length. The ground conditions struck me as perfect, for tents at least. I used the 8' hard ground pegs, which held extremely firmly, and needed to be twisted to come out. I didn't detect any stones in there! Others used the more standard wire pegs, and whilst you needed a mallet (too firm to push all the way in by hand) there was no evidence of struggling or bent pegs, hence my use of the word 'perfect'!
Overall, there was a good mix of tents, caravans and motorhomes. Young couples, not so young couples, and families with kids. 'Action area' and quieter corners. It certainly seems a site for all 'types'.
20 min drive to Mablethorpe. Didn't look for local shops/pubs, as we were 'all stocked up', so can't help on that score. I'm pretty certain there is little within walking distance. But that wasn't a drawback in our opinion.
I have no qualms about stating that we had a wonderful weekend, on a wonderful site. And would go back there like a shot.
Well done to all. Site owner, adults and children alike. And thanks. For just being nice!
Mucker

An ad-hoc booking before a busy weekend was quick and easy by phone and we were met at reception by the site owner - a very friendly greeting and a choice of a couple of pitches.
About 5 miles from the town of Louth, a quick trip out solved the inevitable missing items for the night away.
Close to the coastal town of Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea as well as easy access to other towns is possible while the location of the site feels somewhat 'off the beaten track'- the best of both worlds.
The site is clean and the facilities are of a high standard and very clean. Hot water showers and washing facilities are available 24 hours with no extra cost.
Value for money is excellent.

Third visit to the site. Grass kept short, toilet and shower block spotless. Fridge and small freezer to use also free use of washing machine. The owner very friendly and helpful. Surrounding area beautiful near to Louth where there is a Morrisons. Mablethorpe and Skegness not too far. There is a pub that you can walk to but we didn't. Enjoyed sitting outside the tent enjoying the peace. Will be returning next year

2nd time around and equally as pleased as the first time last year. Well kept, clean and tidy, peaceful and secluded area. With use of a fridge/freezer, washing machine and always plenty of hot water in the well kept clean shower block.
There is a couple of swings for children in the centre visible from most pitches as well as a fair bit of open grass for them to run around without annoying people without children. All pitches are grass and despite the amount of rain that fell the ground remained well drained so no mud.
The nearest shop is about a mile away as is a pub but I can recommend a delightful Italian restaurant in Manby, 3mile away called Bambarino's, the outside may be shabby and the interior tired but the food is wonderful and reasonably well priced.
West End Farm's owner was very pleasant, helpful and appropriately friendly. Gem of a place.

We stayed at West End Farm this summer. We was welcomed by a chap called Mike who was looking after the site for Chris. Mike was very helpful and polite. The Camp site in itself is charming.
Its a small well run place. I liked the fact that the main green was kept free and tents were situated around the outside of the field hence not spoiling the views and although a small led to a spacious place.
The camp site was well maintained and was very clean. The toilet and shower blocks were kept very clean and at last a site that does not have those showers that keep switching off just turn it on and stays on.
There is a washing machine and fridge for everyone to use and this comes free. All is asked is that it is kept clean and tidy. Although a bit out of the way nothing is too far to reach. Mablethorpe is about 8 miles away and Skegness about 23 miles away.
It was a very peaceful and pleasant stay. I would recommend this site. I met Chris the owner towards the end of our stay who was also very nice and pleasant.
All in all we had a lovely time. Well done Chris !

Just had 9 nights at west end farm and what a nice site it is, as from all the other reviews it was spot on,
The owner was away so the site was run by mike and heather who did a great job and where very friendly,
Nice flat pitches, toilets clean, few swings for the children to play on, fridge, washing machine and freezer all free.
It is a nice quite site with no working noise around or road noise, and the birds dawn chorus was nice to wake up too.
All in all a great site can not add much more than people have already commented on,
Just one small gripe is the toilet doors the gap from the floor to the bottom of the door is about 2 feet don't know why, kids can come under the door while you are on the loo ha ha.
Will return again, and thanks to mike and heather for making our stay welcoming.
