we arrived at lakeside to be met by cherry & keith who gave us all the info ie. where the showers ect were situated and then shown to our pitch where we basically had our choice we picked our spot and set camp.
The short drive into pocklington found us in sainsburys where we stocked up, the site is so quite and peaceful the facilities ie showers are good with always plenty of hot water, if you fish then lakeside is superb. All in all a 1st rate site and one we will revisit.

Just returned from a long weekend at Lakeside. What a lovely relaxing site this is. We were pitched right next to the lake which is a joy for fishermen and their partners alike.
Cherry and Keith were very helpful, the toilet and shower blocks were immaculate. As previously stated, the only downside is that this site is so far from public houses and eateries, so make sure you bring plenty with you!
Returning next weekend-can't wait!

We have just come home after spending Whit half term at Lakeside, which was our second visit to the site. Cherry and Keith the wardens were as friendly and helpful as ever. The site was a beautiful as it had been on our last visit and we had some lovely sunshine to go with it. The site was busy with it being half term but the toilets and showers were always clean and tidy. We visited Beverley and York from the site and again went into Pocklington for supplies from Sainsbury's which is only five minutes away by car. My husband tells me that the fishing was great and I saw him catch a big Tench.
We are booking again for October half term and just wish the site was a bit nearer for us to get there more often.

This was a lovely quiet weekend, the view of the lake was lovely, a real shame children can not go along, otherwise we would have sited our tourer for the year.
The only down side I would say was eating places in the area, we found we had to drive a fair way to find somewhere nice to eat and the local shop was about 4-5 miles away which was also difficult as we wanted to remain in our van staring at the beautiful view of the lake, but we had to venture out to buy any essentials.
Tip have a fully stocked caravan so you do not need to find a supermarket
Definitely worthy of a visit

We have just enjoyed a great week on this lovely site which is very well kept. We had a pitch close to the lake and the setting could not have been better. The toilet block was lovely and clean and well maintained. Cherry and Keith, the wardens were very welcoming, helpful and friendly, they do an excellent job.
We found the local area to be lovely and used the site to visit York and Beverley. We did not use the local pubs for food at all but would recommend the fish and chip shop in Pocklington which is only five minutes away. There is also a Sainsburys and Somerfield there.
My husband fished the lake a couple of times and managed to catch a fish, which pleased him !
We have booked again to go back next year and we think that now we have found this site we will be regular visitors.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Lakeside even though the weather was a little chilly! Caravans definitely get the better deal here, tents were housed in a separate field (even though there was only us there) and nowhere near the lake, which was a shame.
Facilities were good, fishing unfortunately was not, not a nibble in the 3 days. Very friendly pub serving meals in the village, 20 minutes walk away.

Decided to spend the weekend camping, first time without our four children. We found Lakeside Adult Caravan Park by accident, but because of the locality, decided to give it a try. And we are so glad that we did! From the moment we approached the site we knew we'd found just the place for us. On arrival, Cherrie was effecient and took the time to tell us about what the site had to offer. We could choose from several spots where to pitch our tent and quickly set ourselves up. We were asked that before we left if we'd pour any unused clean water on the flower pots, this told us that Cherrie obviously cared about her environment and expected guests to do the same.
The facilities, toilets and shower block were spotless, with mops and cloths to wipe round when you'd finished, again showing the pride taken by the mangers of the site. There was always hot water for a free shower. The lake was clean and very tranquil, just what we needed after a hectic week at work. Neither of us fish but it was clear that this was a popular site for fishermen (the site even offers separate toilet facilities for them).
Although the site allows dogs, at no time were we bothered by them barking or any mess left around.
We only spent one night there but are already looking forward to going again and intend to stay longer next time. Our first camping trip without children couldn't have been a more enjoyable experience.

We have just spent 3 nights at lakeside and we wish it had been more. The site is in a beautiful location at the side of a fishing lake, the facilities are spotlessly clean and the whole site is well maintained to a high standard. On arrival we were met by cherry one of the wardens who sorted out the paper work and we were then shown to our pitch by keith,we must say that the wardens were two of the best we have met, nothing was to much trouble for this couple and we were made to feel like old friends from the start,we look forward to returning hopefully soon and would recommend the site to anyone who enjoys peace and quiet in tranquil surroundings.Did not use the pub that is about 2 mins drive away, there's a supermarket about 5 mins drive and york is about 10 miles away. Our only regret is that we did not find this site sooner.

Visited this site just before Easter - and what a peaceful and well kept site it is. The approach to the site is neatly set out and well off the road. We had a friendly welcome and were shown to a lovely spot overlooking the lake. Neither myself nor my husband are 'fishermen' but enjoyed watching the others and the day fishermen were always friendly.
The toilet block is beautifully clean and all users are encouraged to keep it this way!
The room next to the toilets has information leaflets etc and also dvd's and books which can be borrowed during your stay.
The surrounding villages are easily accessible and there is a bus service (which we didn't use)
All in all this is a site which we will return to again to re-charge our batteries!

Just spent 3 days over Easter, husband and son went for fishing, which they really enjoyed and caught loads of fish. £6.00 per day for residents. Toilet blocks were spotless and plenty of hot water for the showers which were free. We had our motorhome and the pitch we were originally given was hard standing but even with level blocks it was still on a large slope. Ask to be moved which they did with no arguments, this pitch would have would have been o.K. If we had a caravan. Sainsburys about 5 minutes away which was handy.
