The hosts make you feel very, very welcome. The facilities are superb. The owners have obviously spent quite a bit getting it to the current level but it is of a high quality. We spent eight days at this site with wonderful views of the Yorkshire countryside.
There is a small bar on site with lots of friendly banter which makes you feel welcome. There are small villages and towns nearby; either cycle or drive. You are just on the fringes of the Yorkshire Moors, or if you fancy a slightly longer drive there are many seaside places such as Whitby, Saltburn, Staithes (which is a lovely find), Sandsend, etc. If you want something different there are other places such as Harrogate, Knaresborough or Thirsk which are accessible by car. The only negative is the A19 which is adjacent to the site. However you quickly begin to filter out any noise and forget it is there. Overall, a little gem!

Well I suggest people believe the good reviews for this site. Turned up in my RV on spec and John the owner could not have been more helpful even offering use of extension leads if I needed them.
The near new facilities were spotless so much so that I used them rather than my own onboard to save me cleaning after my night away. The pub was really friendly and although I was on my own everyone made an effort to talk to me and include me in the nights banter. It appears that this site has numerous repeat regulars and I can understand why. Nothing was to much trouble For the hosts John and Christine, and a special mention has to be for the fantastic breakfast you could get in the pubs dining area. Again for the cost it was not worth turning my gas on and doing it myself. I won't say what it cost because I think it was far to cheap and think Christine should put her price up. Believe me if it was double you would still think it was value for money. Will I go back damn right I would.
Any downsides. Emmmmm Road a bit close but never kept me awake, might be different in a tent, although everyone I spoke to campers etc were very pleased with their stays.

Stayed here for one great night.
The owner is wonderful. We has cycled a long way to get here and she was good enough to show us to a sheltered spot round the back of the facilities block which was great.
The site was not busy and we basically had the toilet/shower bock to ourselves.
The facilities are wonderful. Everything is clean. The shower is great. We used the laundry facilities to get some much needed washing done.
The owner does do meals in there pub but you need to order in advance. Shame We had not as the food looked nice.
The nearest town is about 5-10mins by car but we did not venture out of the site.
The on site pub is very welcoming and the music great.
We thought the proximity of the A19 would keep us awake but it did not. I have to say I was surprised.
In Summary a good place to stay.

We have just had our first night here and I hope we have many more. Where to start. Owners are very friendly. Wash block immaculate (even has a radio playing!) Showers big enough for family and to keep a dry bit to get dressed on. Site very tidy, the little play park is excellent, the equipment is kept in good repair. The bar opened at 7, it is lovely, very welcoming with big comfy couches. The owners were our hosts for the evening, giving out lollys to the children and roast potatoes later on. There was even live entertainment with karaoke, (we didn't stay late enough to ruin everyone's night by joining in!) We were told of a farm shop near by, mental note made to visit next time. The A19 is very close, though this was not to much of a problem.

Just had a lovely stay at this great little site, great pub with wonderful hosts. Lovely pub a couple of miles down the road for food, bathroom facilities were great lovely to have a nice hot shower listening to the radio! You can hear the A19 but to be honest it wasn't a problem for us. We were made to feel very welcome we hope to be back again soon. A lovely site that I would recommend, we had a great stay.

We have just returned from one of the best weekends we have had in our caravan. I never ever write reviews, however, felt this site and more importantly the owners were worthy of me giving up some time to write this.
Plenty of open space for our 4 year old to run around and really nice people on the site which for us is important. The shower block/ toilets are immaculate and there is a play area for the kids which was fab.
We went to Northallerton in the morning and spent too much money as the shops are great, a real town. We then went to bedale for lunch at the high park which again was amazing with views to die for, the weather certainly helped as it was reaching 25 degrees. We then went to Mount Grace Priory to finish the day off and me I was pooped!
We returned and then had a couple of beers at the bar which was relaxing and chilled. The price was cheapest so far as you pay for the electricity you use. Overall as the husband put it, a cracking site of which we will love to return to.

Oh what a lovely site. A bit close to the A19 but did not bother us and what a wonderful couple, really helpful, even asked us if we wanted a cupper while we erected our folding caravan (as it took a while). Toilets were very clean and showers were free and that's a bonus and the pub on site was lovely. Would go back here as we really enjoyed it. Our caravan looked out on to rolling hills and countryside, really pretty. We made the short drive into thirsk which was nice as there was a market on

John and Christine are absolutely brilliant. They are the nicest couple you could meet. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They keep the site absolutely immaculate. The showers/toilets are always being cleaned and there's always plenty of hot water. Piped music in the toilets as well. The showers are free which is an added bonus.
We like this site as we don't feel crammed in. There's plenty of space for awnings / cars etc. There is a small playground for children which is ideal.
John opens the bar at night. We used the bar whilst we were there and again found it brilliant. There's also the beer garden which in the warmer weeks will be great. John and Christine are fantastic hosts and always ready to have a chat.
We visited Thirsk and Northallerton markets on the Saturday and Catterick Car Boot and market on the Sunday. There's plenty of places to travel to from the site.
I cannot praise John and Christine enough. We will definitely be returning and can't wait to go back.

Have been to this site previously. Christine and John are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. They are so welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. They are great hosts. The toilets/showers are immaculate and that goes for the rest of the site. We went in their bar and that too was a very good experience. John runs the bar night time and Christine is always there too. The bar/beer garden is an added bonus.
The great thing about this site is you are not all crammed in. There's plenty of room for your awning/car etc. The showers/toilets are always being cleaned and there's always plenty of hot water.
Plenty of markets in the area and Car Boot at Catterick Sunday mornings.
I cannot praise John and Christine enough. This site gets a massive thumbs up from us and we will be returning very shortly. Hope to see John on the Karaoke!

Just returned from a weekend away at this lovely site. Owners are very friendly and approachable, will do anything to help, in fact they gave us some gravy granules to save us having to leave the site to buy some! Toilets are very clean and warm with music playing in the background. Only negative comment I would make is that there is no bin in the pot wash area!
As previous reviews have stated, the site is very close to the A19 and being in a tent the noise was noticeable throughout our stay. I can imagine it would be OK if you were in a caravan though.
Kids playground was very good, as were the games in the bar, although we didn't use them.
Very reasonably priced site, £21 for 5 of us, including electricity for one night.
We will return to this site when we buy a caravan.
