Took the family camping for the first time in 3years, In-laws keep a caravan here so we met for the Easter weekend. Kids ran free with no trouble and thoroughly enjoyed playing with the other kids on site.
Facilities were fantastic with addition oa campers kitchen this year with access to a fridge and freezer, also a microwave if needed. Easter Sunday the owners had a BBQ and fun afternoon, which was great fun in the spring sunshine, the addition of two bands was an added bonus and all thoroughly enjoyed.
Can't fault the site or the people owning and running. Will definitely staying there again.

This was our first attempt at a caravan holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant and the site was well managed.
Especially the showers and toilets which were spotless at all times.
Our site was very flat and the hedges act as windbreaks which is very helpful.
Nearby is a Londis shop which stocks most things you will need.
The local bus services run nearby and so with a bus pass you can see most of Cornwall for free!
The New Inn on the corner has local real ale and a great carvery.
Even though it was the end of the season we had a wonderful time and would have no hesitation in recommending this site.
We will definitely return when next in the area.

Overall a lovely site. Good shower / family facilities including a 'camp kitchen' with a freezer and microwave. We found this really useful for heating baby food. The family shower area had baby baths and good size family areas.
Although our dog proved himself not to be a very happy camper, the doggy facilities were great. The fenced dog walking area was perfect and we were able to pitch very close to it.
The children's play area was more for older children but I'm hoping that my now 3 year old may enjoy it when we return this year.
We have a Kampa Filey 6 and were able to pitch it with the vestibule attached on our Penrose pitch.
Really looking forward to returning for the BBQ weekend this year, just hoping to see a bit more sun and less rain than on our last visit!

We have just returned from a two week stay at Penrose and have to say we were really pleased with it.
The other reviews seem to have it covered; family owned site with very friendly and helpful owners, beautifully maintained grounds, spotlessly clean facilities, lots of hot water, fantastic takeaway facility if you need it with breakfast needs all met and evening meals too, two washing machines and tumble drier, small children's play area, undercover washing up etc etc.
Very well located for beaches and other tourist attractions.
We couldn't fault it and will be back.

Yet again another fantastic stay with you all at penrose holiday park for the 4th year. Lovely site very clean as ever and always maintained to the highest standards.T oilets very clean and site pitches always neatly mown ready for next occupier.
The take away food is excellent on site and we made our daily early morning trip for the warm croissants, they are delicious.
The site is a perfect location for anyone wanting to explore Cornwall. The nearest beach is only 5 mins drive away in Perranporth and gives you that great oppertunity to boogie board all day long.
Look forward to seeing you all next year

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children have just returned from a fantastic 10 night stay at Penrose Holiday park.
The site is clean, tidy, well maintained and importantly quiet at night ! ideal for children and light sleepers.
Campingcaron's review covers the sites facilities and I completely agree with all of it.
We visited the local pub The New Inn for a drink one night which has a park for the children to play on but we found The Whitehouse Inn which is a 5 minute car ride away towards Healey Cider Farm (a must visit!) was much better in my opinion and catered very well for families with good food, ales and plenty of room for the little ones to play.
St. Agnes and Hayle are 2 places we found this year, both have lovely beaches which are manned by lifeguards.
If you forget any equipment, there is a camping & caravan shop between Perranporth and St. Agnes which you get to via the road in the centre of Perranporth that has a good stock of everything you could need, alternatively Truro has all of the shops you'd expect.
Penrose is a great central site to plan your visit to the many attractions, sights and beaches in Cornwall and we are planning to go back to Penrose next year.
A note of warning, there are currently roadworks on the A3075 island that joins the A30 so try to avoid at peak times. (10 miles from the site so you cannot hear it !)

We stayed here for the first time, perfect in every way, you really should check out the website,
The staff are friendly and offer assistance and advice. We booked for a week and ended booking extra nights, and as no-one was booked in after us, we were allowed to pack up at our leisure we were not rushed off the site at 10am. Fantastic, no extra cost either.
We had serviced pitch which was very level and a decent size, we had the 6 man tent, porch extension and a gazebo. Central location for Cornwall,we travelled to Perenporth, Newquay, Penzance, Lands End and St Ives.
The shower block was exceptional, very clean and hot running water, the showers are free. The only thing I paid for was 20p to use the hair dryer.
There is a family room which had baby changing facilities and each cubicle contains a loo, shower and sink. Although I didn't have children with me there were a lot of families on site.
There is a play park for the children set in its own field and also a dog walking field.Dogs are allowed but they have to be kept on a lead at all times.
The laundrey room is well equipped with a washer, dryer etc and for an extra 50p I think it was they will do it for you. Also free to use the iron. This room has lots of leaflets and information in it.
There is a campers kitchen with use of fridge and chest freezer, you can put your food stuff in there, it is at your own risk but none of our stuff was stolen, and the freezer is full of ice blocks which you can borrow.
There is also a large dish washing area.
There was a takeaway on the site, but this was under refurbishment and closed so cant comment, but great idea.
The local pub, The New Inn, 2 minutes walk down the road, good service and lovely home cooked food.
Families and Couples ony, they do not cater for large groups, this is a quiet site with rules and regulations, if you want classy camping then this is the place to go.

What a brilliant site! This was our second trip to penrose farm, we had better weather than July 2008 but the site is so well kept that we had an enjoyable holiday what ever the weather. Our pitch was pre booked and we where a group of three families, we were pitched near to the children's park and dog exercise field, perfectly ample for our needs.
Pitches are generous in size and not too close to the neighbours.
Toilets cleaned daily and always clean, shop and takeaway is well stocked and you are always greeted with a hello or a smile.
Staff/ owners never too busy for any questions or any needs/ problems you might have!
A lot of the campers are regulars that come back every year, so other campers must think it's worthy of a second if not third visit! We have booked again this year for July and my children will be meeting up with their friends they met in July 2008. What a great site, shame about the Cornwall rain. Great site for sight seeing around Cornwall.

An excellent site which we’ve been using for the last 3 yrs. It’s located very close to Perranporth with a huge beach but parking terrible get there early or go to holly-well bay It is ideally situated for visiting other areas of Cornwall. The site has a shop which sells a good range of products. The layout of the site is excellent with plenty of space between units and has good a shower / toilet block I have seen at any caravan site.
There was a warm and friendly welcome from the owners / staff who were always ready and willing to give advice when asked. I would unreservedly recommend this site to anyone visiting this area and, The children’s play area has in past kept our kids busy for hours and the dog walking area gave our excitable dog a good chance to run off steam! A well-stocked shop coupled with an excellent take-away meant I had a holiday virtually free from cooking full English for breakfast and tasty fish-finger buttie’s in the evening Yumm! The cherry on the cake has to be the peace and quiet of the site. It’s a strictly family / couples site so no dreaded groups of loud, drunken youths. What a relief!
The local pub (2 minutes walk) is family friendly and has a nice outdoor area and great food. Lots of walks to do in the surrounding area, I especially recommend a walk through the dunes around golf course towards Perranporth.
All in all, a site with high standards and lovely staff. We’ve had another great stay and the next holiday can’t come soon enough!
Only one gripe could do with bigger gravelled roads through site.

Just returned from one week at this site.
What can I say excellent site, the owners extra friendly and quick to offer advice on where to go and what to see.
All of Cornwall within easy reach to visit from this site that is why we decided to stay a week.
Great take away my husband had a couple of Full English breakfasts.
Clean toilets and showers, lots of lovely hot water and plenty of water pressure.
Think we will be visiting again next year.
