We spent two weeks here at this site,The family / owners were all very helpful and friendly. If your like us who wants a peaceful / quiet and clean site this is the site for you.It is situated approx 15 minutes drive from Newquay and approx 5 minutes drive from perranporth beach (which gets very busy).Ideal site to visit other parts of Cornwall.
The Toilet /Shower blocks were always clean(which means a lot to us),The shop was very basic but that was not a problem for us Morrisons was only about 15 mins drive in Newquay,or you had Coop in Perranporth.
We stayed here for the best two weeks of weather in August,We enjoyed it so much we have booked again for next year.
We would definitely recommend to family & friends.

Just read the reviews for this park before I added my own. I cannot believe the review from Tracetthomas! unbelievable.
This site is so well run, read the other reviews, they are a well deserving 4 star park.
As for noise from teenagers I never heard any, except for the 2 family's who were put off the site by the owners for noise.
One of the family patrols the park during the evening usually the lad with the large white dog. Once darkness comes the children all go in to the tents/caravans by 10 oclock everywhere is quiet.
As for the shop it is the only one for miles and is very well stocked with fresh bread milk newspapers wine beer tinned goods and sweets for the kids, and used by the local villager's.
The take away has it's opening times on the menu and stays open long after they say the close.

Just returned from this site, location good for travelling around Cornwall
The closest beach is Perrinthorth which is very crowded and difficult to park. Huge beach but strong current water not suitable for small children
The site itself is small with a very narrow entrance so abit fiddley with a caravan or trailer.
The shop stocks very limited items we used the co op which is close by. The take away opened when it pleased with no set times which made it very difficult to plan a take away meal and closed before 8pm. Its choice of food was limited but priced well.
The toilets and shower block was basic. The bins around the site where not emptied regularly enough to cope with the amount of visitors and often over flowed
The site is not manned at night and we found lots of teenager’s causing lots of noise late in the night. Our tent was by the play area not a good spot due to teenagers congregating there.
The site is very flat with large pitches and great for the kids to ride bikes around
Overall a good site but could do with improvements

We just spent 4 nights on this lovely campsite. Husband, 2 children and the dog. We arrived to very wet ground which quickly drained away. Lovely peaceful site with strict rules about noise pollution which is good. Play area in the middle field for younger ones and a small but adequate field for doggie walks. Very clean amenities block with washing up facilities, launderette and family bathrooms. Excellent take away on site which is handy for bacon baps etc. This site is situated 6 miles away from Newquay, 4 miles away from Perranporth which is a busy but lovely small town with a beach for dogs. Fantastic waves and white sands, (Reccommend Scoobies for quick take away food) We visited Lands End which was only just over an hour away well worth it. The only thing I would request from this site is another small toilet block for those staying in the meadows as that can be quite a long walk for first wee wees in the morning. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

This was roughly our 14th visit to this site and everytime we come the site just keeps on improving.
The site is run by a very friendly, welcoming and accommodating extended family who have never failed to assist us with anything we've needed.
The site is beautifully maintained with excellent facilities inc: male, female, family and disabled toilet/ shower rooms, site shop and takeaway. There is also a play area which is situated in the middle of the field allowing you to watch your children from your pitch (if you are on that field).
The static we stay in is a site rental and we have used it 4 times so far. It is an old van but has been fitted with freestanding sofa's and table and chairs. It also has a tv, dvd and digibox. The van is perfect for us as it is a 6 birth and provides enough space to accommodate our daughter's cotbed. The van is fully kitted out with utensils and crockery so all you need to do when you arrive is flick on the kettle. The van also has the added bonus of a private garden.
Overall we have and do recommend this site to everyone - it is perfect for families as there is no clubhouse therefore it is quiet when the kids are going to bed. It is perfectly located for all the surrounding beaches and shops and pubs etc and finally it is very reasonably priced.

My wife and I visited the camp site with friends of ours. This was our second time we visited the park and our friends fourth. This was the first time in the hand's of the new owner's. We found the park to the same excellent standards as last time but with a few changes, ie. The farm animals were gone (no smells) a lovely carp pond with some good size fish
The shower block's were spotless and with good powerful hot shower if you need it and disabled shower's too. The pitches were all in great condition and more than enough room and level. The whole camp is surrounded by well established tree's and bushes.
If you have children there is a small play area but it's in the centre of the pitches and I found some children playing round other van's, which could be a bit of a problem with the owner's of these van's?
The camp site is run by a family and they are very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. They have opened a Take Away where you can buy evening meal's if you don't feel like cooking or going out and reasonably priced to. There are fish & chip's, Chilli with what you want, and curry plus much more and all home cooked.
The camp site is easily situated for Newquay, Perranporth, Land's end, and there are some really old pub's with great meal's. I would have no problems recommending this camp site to any one and will be using it again soon.

This site is situated in Goonhavern, an excellent part of Cornwall, not too far from Perranporth or Newquay. The pitches are spacious, however the sites facilities let it down. Shower cubicles could maybe be checked more often. There are plenty of showers and toilets and adequate washing up facilities, however the laundrette continues to be more and more expensive each year and isn't great.
There is a good pub on the corner (the new inn) which is child friendly and lovely to visit on a sunny evening and sit out in the beer garden. There is a shop and cafe on site but I did not visit these. The doggy field is ok, but could be a bit bigger, especially when dogs are charged so much to stay - they should be allowed a shower too for that price! There is also a playground and a ping pong table.

We enjoyed our stay at the campsite, owners very friendly and helpful, good facilities on site and the takeaway an added bonus. Perranporth close by with beautiful beaches ideal for families or couples. Good location to visit other parts of Cornwall. Will recommend to our friends and visit again ourselves.

This is the second time we have stayed here, but first with the new management. They were always friendly and helpful and all facilities were well maintained. Pitches were a good size, even accommodating our friends' large Outwell tent and gazebo, leaving room for their Chrysler van too! Although, like all campsites, they had set opening times for the shop, they always were willing to open it at any time for someone who needed something.
I know they are constantly thinking of changes and updates and the only suggestion I would make is to move the playground to one side of the campsite, rather than in the middle where it is surrounded by pitches (one camper complained to our children about playing around their tent, even though the child was in the play area). We have a dog and they offered an enclosed walking field so you can let your pet off their lead, which I thought was great.
Penrose Farm is ideally located in Cornwall, with both Perenporth and Newquay a few miles away and the Eden Project about a 30-minute drive. Cornwall has a lot to offer both couples and families and it seems, due to the recession, that the roads and resort towns are not as congested as in recent years so now is the time to visit!

Just spent a couple of nights at this lovely site. Very easy to find and well sign-posted. The pitches are generous and comfortably spaced and we had the benefit of visiting in the quieter season. A very warm welcome from the owners extended to some great suggestions for local walks with our dogs so much so they came with us with theirs and we discovered many hidden footpaths and pubs. The facilities on site were immaculate (great showers mean a lot to us!) and thanks to some good spring weather the park was looking its best.
