We have just returned from a 2 wk stay here. The site was taken over by new owners in January and when we arrived we were not able to have the pre booked pitch on the playfield as arranged. Naturally this didn't get the holiday off to a good start as we have three young children and the youngest has special needs. We were allocated a pitch on what seemed to be the overflow field and was quite a walk to the toilet block. The field felt quite crowded and the pitches small that you felt you were imposing on those next to you.
Toilets, washing up etc, all acceptable
There was a well stocked shop on site, opened for good times during morning and evening, also small takeaway bar.
There is no longer pet stroking sessions etc as with the previous owners.
Generally a very quiet site after about 10.30, so no problems sleeping
We would go back again if were were guaranteed a pitch we wanted, however as with us, and others there, it seems this is not something they are able to commit / guarantee, so we will wait and read the reviews over the next 12 months before returning.

Just returned from a lovely visit to Penrose Farm. The site is fantastic and the owners very friendly and laid back. The site is set out on three moderately sized fields all of which are very pretty and well maintained.
The pitches are all level, very large with loads of room for the car at the side of the tent/caravan. The shower/toilet block was very clean with the addition of family shower/wash rooms and being in the centre of the site they are no more than 150 yards away from furthest pitches The nearest Pub serving good food is only a 5 minute walk away in Goonhavern. Also try the 'Smugglers Den' nearby in Trevellas for a great meal.
The site is in a perfect location for exploring the lower half of Cornwall being near to many surfing beaches including Perranporth, which is only 5 minutes away in the car.
Overall this is a lovely site in a great location and suitable for all types of holiday maker, we will recommend it to anyone and will definitely return.

July 2005 We stayed in our tent with our two children and the dog. The pitch was a good size and the site itself was very pretty with lots of flower boarders. The shop was a good size, it stocked all the everyday needs and more. To top that it also had a small take away which did a lovely jacket potato and o.k you had to wait but it was worth it or you could order your meal and call back. Hats off to the cleaner who seemed to love the loos and showers as they always seemed to be spotless. We would recommend this to anyone (but would rather keep it a secret) who likes and quiet stay or as a base. Many thanks to the owners for a lovely stay. We will return.

May 2004 We have been here for two consecutive years. Really nice site, very well kept with incredibly clean toilets and showers. They have designated family shower rooms which are great.
Really nice couple that own and run the site. Small shop which stocks the essentials but not much else.
Fab for kids with nice play area and 'pet handling' centre. Every morning at 10am the kids get to hold the guinea pigs and rabbits.
