Lovely quiet clean site, we have been more than once, everything we need from an adult only site.
Not far from Kendal and near the motorway but no noise, be careful on the narrow lane for a short way to reach the site.
Family owned and run.
If you seek Adult only in the lakes this is the one.

Lovely clean and quite site. Plenty to do in the area.
Helpful warden when setting up.
Bowness has plenty of places to eat and good parking.
Tried to eat in kendal in the evening but parking was not very good.

Well, where do we begin to tell you all what a fabulous site The Ashes in Kendal is. The booking process was excellent, Rachel was very helpful and managed to extend our booking at very short notice.
We arrived on site, to be welcomed by Fred, what a wonderful person he is, not only did he show us to our pitch, but he also helped us to unhook and set up: this has never happened before at any site we have stayed at. Nothing was too much trouble, we felt very valued as customers.
Val welcomed us with a pack of three, Kendal Mint Cake bars, what a lovely gesture, again this has never happened before at any site we have stayed at.
Fred maintains the site to the highest of standards, the array of well-manicured flower beds and plant pots is lovely to see. The views of the countryside are breath taking, the site is very quiet, you can hear the birds sing all day long. It was lovely to see all the animals, sheep, cattle, and horses; it was fascinating to see the farmer train his sheep dogs in a field below the site.
There are around 24 pitches in total, and we would say that 50% of these are seasonal pitches; the seasonal caravanners are all warm and welcoming.
The pot wash facilities are spotless and even though there is only one sink, we never saw any queues. The toilet and shower facilities are maintained to a very high standard, there are two showers in total but again even though the site was full there was never any queues to use them; Showers and toilets are cleaned between 4-5, we personally thought this was an excellent idea as we like to take things easy when on holiday.
We will return to The Ashes as it is an excellent location for anyone wishing to tour the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales

Had a great stay here! Greeted on arrival by Fred and some Kendal mint cake which was a lovely local treat!
Pitches are a good size with water tap, waste water point and electric.
Toilets and showers are kept spotless as is the rest of the site.
Lots of local walks to do, will definitely be returning to this site!

We had a lovely stay. The site is impeccable with lovely facilities and is incredibly well organised.
We stayed for 1 night as a stop off whilst passing through the area.
The site was so peaceful and beautiful and just what we needed on the last leg of our journey.
Couldn’t fault a thing :)

Well kept site with very helpful owners.
Close to the M6.
Only reservation was that some of the pitches were a little bit tight.
Loved the kind gift of Kendal Mint Cake.

Very nice small adult only site.
Shower/ toilet blocks really clean.
Owners very friendly and helpful, gave us a place to put some belongings as it was too windy to put up our awning on the day we arrived. Very thankful for that help.
Overall. Countryside heaven. Will definitely stay again.
Oh and thank you for the Kendal mint cake. 🙂

Absolutely fantastic stay from start to finish.
The site was spotless, everywhere. The showers, toilets and upkeep of the site was remarkable.
I managed to speak to the site owner and she was incredibly friendly and helpful.
We will not hesitate to return. I would describe it as a little piece of heaven.

Lovely site with well maintained facilities.
The access could be tricky for some, but that's to be expected given its location.
Some fantastic walks nearby for the dog and the mint cake was a nice touch.
Thanks very much.

Although we only stayed one night, we actually did that twice, northbound & southbound.
We used this site a few years ago & thought it very good. Under new ownership it's even better.
A friendly welcome from Fred, the Kendal Mint Cake a nice surprise.
The toilets & shower immaculate. Sited in a pleasant village within beautiful countryside.
A short drive from the M6 so a great site to break up a journey.
Kendal also close by.
