Our family visited this site with 2 children aged 11 and 5. Very quiet site with well spaced out pitches. Very pleasant owners, who kindly lent us a longer mains hook-up when ours wouldn't reach. (Probably because we were so well spaced out) Only had 2 shower units but they were huge and never had to queue as the site was so quiet. There is a washing machine within the pot wash room with rotary driers behind the toilet block. This was a very nice touch especially as we were away from home for 3 weeks. Very good playground for the children but disappointed when our son was asked to stop riding his bike. Local for visits to both Newark and Lincoln but not very much within walking distance. Overall a lovely quiet site to get away from it all. One week was long enough for my family with 2 boys.

What a lovely site! When you arrive you book in at a small shop that sells sweets and other small bits and bobs - much to the delight of my children.
The first thing that hits you is how well maintained the site is. We were told where to pitch and from our tent we had clear views of the playground, but far enough away not to be bothered it. Through a few trees there was another large empty field where my children went to play frisbee and with the ball. Also plenty of woodland to explore.
The ground was fantastic for the tent and made pitching a breeze. The shower and toilet block was very clean - only down side was there were only two showers. Two sinks for washing up inside - which was fine the first night but the second we had a heavy down pour and everyone had the same idea about washing up when it cleared up!
An icecream van came round the site on the second night.
Only downside was they could have done with a small freezer in the kitchen area for refreezing of ice packs - as when we went it was very warm and we ended up with some very sweaty food!
Very quite but lovely campsite!
Ideal location for visiting Lincoln or Newark.
Will be going back - infact my husband wanted to book again before we left!

Not too easy to find as unsure which turning to take off the A46 dual carriageway. Our friends used their sat nav and ended up on an ind est about 5 miles away. However when found the approach to the site has the 5 acre lake next to the entrance and it is a lovely setting.
The owners are friendly and helpful.
The field is huge and has the facilities block sited more or less near the middle. It was always clean but it is a little small for the size of the site, but it didn't cause us any problems.(apart from the distance from our tent)
We pitched our tent next to a tall hedge near the corner of the field. This was the bank holiday weekend and the wind was really strong. However the tent was so sheltered from the weather that it was no problem. Some of the caravan awnings got destroyed in the wind though. It was a severe gale.
The fishing lake is frequented by serious carp anglers and several 20lb plus carp were caught by them. There is a massive head of small rudd which are simple to catch, but very few fish that are medium sized.
The woodland walks on site are really nice, but not many took the trouble. They missed out.
There is a really good kids play area.It was at the other end of the field to us so it didn't bother us
The nearest pub is 1.2 miles away. The Green Man in Thurlby. A lovely pub selling real ale, but it was just a bit too far to walk with no st.Lights on a country lane,so we used a designated driver. The food was good but a little expensive.
Not far to Lincoln and Newark from the site.
The A46 is quite close but the road noise was hardly noticeable. Also the site was very quiet after 10.30pm.
All things considered this site is in a lovely location and we would recommend it as being worth a visit.

A very quiet, peaceful site with loads of space. Great flat grass to pitch on and a warm welcome from the owner and Travis the dog :-)
We camped here for one night and turned up 7-ish PM but this was no problem.
Once pitched, we walked to the nearest pub for food (The Green Man) It was 21:03 when we walked in but bar man said no food after 9! so we had to have crisps instead, not a warm welcome at all and probably why the site owner doesn't recommend that pub!
Anyway, we showered in the morning, good hot water and lots of room, we found the facilities fine if a little basic. There is a play-park for the kids too, though ours we're away at nana's!
Recommended!

Site was ok value for money and surrounded by lovely woodland. Toilet facilities were ok but showers looked extremely outdated. Everything was clean. Couldn't find any recycling facilities except for grass cuttings which seemed rather strange to me! One washing up area as far as I could see. Also didn't like the way the caravans were all set out in rows. The owners were friendly enough and dogs were kept under control. Nothing worse than dog poo everywhere but this site was kept clean. Site also had a fishing lake and a pretty decent play area for the kids. All in all an ok site but don't think I would stay again. Just didn't do it for me but maybe the rain didn't help. Nice place to visit is Whisby Nature Park but make sure you've got insect repellent! Lots of birdies there for bird watchers.

The site was down a country lane, out of the way, but access leads to a very busy dual carriageway, along which traffic travels at speed, so you need to be very careful when pulling out.
This is a quiet, flat site, mainly used by touring caravans. There were only 2 unisex showers in total, at either end of the toilet block, so there were occasionally some queues. There were 3 toilets & 4 sinks in the ladies' & I presume the same number in the gents'.
We had a big tent - the octopus/igloo style, and although we were quoted at booking £9. 50 per night, we were actually charged £10. 00 per night, but it was still a good price. There is a swipe card barrier to enter the site - the cost of the card is refunded on return of the card.
There was a washing machine on site, but no dryer, only an outdoor rotary dryer, and due to very heavy showers we ended up going to a launderette a few miles away otherwise the washing would never have dried.
There is no play area, but plenty of space for our children to play. Our pitch was also next to some blackberry bushes, which were just nicely ripened! Blackberry-stained children's clothes for us!

Booked this site for 2 pitches for the Waddington Air Show.
They were very friendly when booking and equally as nice when we arrived. We were pitched right at the bottom of the field which made for a bit of a long dash to the toilet when you have a five year old who always thinks its best to hold on till the very last second before announcing he needs the loo.
Having 4 kids between us it was nice that it was a quiet site after 10.30 and also so much space for the kids to run around without annoying people or tripping over ropes.
If you are in a tent and want an electric pitch - this probably wont be the site for you as there appeared only to be a couple on the main field where most of the caravans were sited. Thankfully it was lovely weather so no electric needed.
All in all a good weekend, the only downside is such a small toilet/shower set up, but then again Waddington weekend is probably their busiest weekend.

We are brand new to camping and chose this site to stay while we were attending the Waddington Air Show. The site is in a great location and wasn't too far to the show. Our main fear was the showers and toilets. We needn't have even bothered worrying as they were very clean and tidy. But the only downside was the site only has 2 showers for everyone and we had to queue for one! The staff are very friendly and are always on hand for advice or any questions you might have. We do intend to return in the very near future (maybe even next week!) and might even make it our regular site so we can go out walking and enjoy the Lincolnshire countryside! Oh and although my children are a little too old for the playground. If you do have young kids they will love it!

This was our first visit to this campsite although we do not live that far away. We needed somewhere close to try out our new tent. We used UKCampsite to search the area and came across the Oakhill Leisure site.
The site was very easy to find and we were welcomed at reception. Mary took us to our pitch and we set up. The grass camping field we were in was large and level and we had a choice of where we could pitch. Although it was busy the units were well spaced out.
Once set up we explored the site. In our field there was no amenities block but there were two portaloos at one end of the field. Close to reception was the only amenties block available which consisted of Ladies and Gents toilets, a disabled toilet and two showers. All very clean and in good order. As there were only two showers for the whole site this did mean staggering shower times or queing. This was the only down side for me.
The site also houses a children's play area.
The site are includes a fishing lake and a really nice woodland walk.
The site is both close to Newark and Lincoln and the nearest supermarket is 15-20 minutes away.
We really enjoyed the ice cream van which came round the site on both nights we were there, stopping right outside our tent for the obligatory 99 ice cream. A welcome treat.
The site was very clean and well kept, the staff very friendly and welcoming I would not hesitate in recommending this site and I will be visiting it again in the future.

We arrived at 5 and found Ron to be very nice and helpful, he asked where we would like to pitch and advised us near the toilets behind a caravan which we did. After we had pitched and ate we asked where we can walk and Ron showed us the walk, as we turned we met some work friends of ours! we learnt that there sister has a static there. The walk was very nice.
In morning we showered but as it only had 2 showers we waited but as we're near we ate first.
The weather was glorious till evening then we had thunder and lightning but we slept.
All in all a very good camp site with showers, toilets, and a pots washing room with washing machine, nice walks, and as we live near to Lincoln we know it has a castle and cathedral.
The downside is lack of showers but you can go when it's quiet and a pub is a mile away but we didn't bother, there's not a lot for kids to do but we left ours at home and we really enjoyed it.
The staff are helpful and everywhere is clean and tidy.
We would recommend it and will come again
