Well what a little gem this place is. I can only back up everything that the other reviews say. The wardens and all staff are very helpful and available any time. The toilet/ shower block is showing signs of age but is kept very clean tidy and well stocked. We visited for a weekend mid August and there was plenty of room. The pitches appear very spacious and are all flat and even. There is a good size play area for toddlers and juniors. There are fields in abundance. There is a good size fishing lake which is also a nice 20 minute walk and there is a large wooded area that also makes for a nice walk, make sure you walk all around as there are several paths that lead off. Only negative we found, some people would find it a positive, is the lack of facilities within walking distance. The nearest pub is 1.2 miles away in Norton Disney and the nearest shops we found were around 3 miles away in Bassingham, that said the roads are quiet so its no hardship. There are lots of nice places to visit in the area. One point on navigation, if using a sat nav do not use the postcode to guide you. If coming from Newark go down the A46 past the signs for Norton Disney to the roundabout and follow the brown caravan site sign, otherwise you will have to do what I did and cross the A46 which is a dual carriageway. Will we visit again, a big yes probably several weekends in the year.

Had a lovely weekend at this site, mainly because we had 2 teenage boys with us who we didn't have to see too much of! The fishing lake is excellent and the boys were allowed to fish there overnight leaving us to relax without having to entertain them. There is a lovely woodland walk through adjoining fields. Owners were very friendly and helpful. We will certainly use the site again.

It took a while to find this place with Satnav - it was only thanks to the kind folks at the local pub could we find it.
However, it's a worthwhile place to find - for two people, a car and a tent it was £8, there was lots of room, and a nice and clean amenity block, albeit small. 50p for a shower isn't bad at all, and my girlfriend didn't even realise there was a cost at all, since she hopped in after someone else!
The ground was quiet and practically no road noise - the people on the site were considerate too. No sign of the stony ground mentioned previously - the grass was green, and easy to pitch a large tent on.
There's a sign that tells you that the barrier will be down from 10pm, and we rushed around to get back for then - later we realised that the barrier is actually just to stop caravans coming on site - there's no problem driving under the barrier (so don't worry if you want to go out for a drink at the pub, as it's a bit far to walk, imho!).
We only stayed for one night, but we would be happy to go back again.

We stayed for two nights for the RAF Waddington Airshow 2006 weekend and have to say that overall the site was very good. The pitches are very level, although make sure you have some "tough" pegs as the ground is quite hard and stony about 2" below the surface on the non electric hook up tent field we stayed on. The site is off a quiet road and proved very tranquil. The only real criticisms are: 1. The facility block, whereby in making them larger and in providing greater segregation of the WC's to the wash basins would provide a little more privacy. 2. The provision of more than one pot washing sink would be beneficial. 3. The lack of additional water distribution points across the site. 4. The build up of insects/ bugs in the facility building - although the particularly hot and dry weather experienced may have contributed to this. A little investment in the right areas would really elevate this site without making it too commercial and puting up costs too much. Overall we can highly recommend the site - at least for a couple of nights get away.

First visit to this site with our son and his family. We found the camp wardens very helpful. Although you have to pay 50p for the showers the water is always hot and lasts for a long time. It is a great site for children and our grandchildren did not want to leave the site. Plenty of places to visit, we will definitely be going back.

Very nice site, clean & tidy. 50p for a shower not too bad for guaranteed hot water. The pitches are very spacious and flat, with good drainage. play area is very good. We visited for the weekend and stayed until 3.00pm on the sunday which was a nice touch

Site warden very helpful. The toilets and showers are very clean, also the washing machine and washing pots area very clean. All the pitches are flat and even, although would advise heavy duty tent pegs for awnings etc as ground is hard in places. The site is very quiet and peaceful and the fishing lake is good, as are the nature walks. No on-site pub though, but is that such a bad thing? Kids play area is good although is more aimed at the younger side. Would advise anybody to give this site a try. We did and really enjoyed it and have been many times since.

Very pleasantly surprised. The site was fairly empty so we had ample space to pick were we wanted to place our tents. The wardens were pleasant and we left the site late on the Sunday because it was not their busiest time.
There is a big play area for the kids plus we took our bikes, and did manage to ride around the lake and the nearby area.
The showers and toilets are neatly kept. We did not mind paying for the showers as this way we knew we were getting hot water. A definate return.

March 2005 We have visited this site four times in the past six months and cannot fault the site or the the very nice couple at the checkin, But this last time we came we were very disapointed to find the big field next to the woods where we let our dogs run round was fenced off and full of sheep. we had to use the fields off the lane but they were full of rabbit and mole holes bad for us and the dogs. Children also rode bikes in lane and around site not very safe, because field fence was electrified. We will be going back soon I hope fence and sheep are gone.

November 2004 A nice site which is very convenient for Lincoln. The pitches were of a good size, and with the whole site being flat then getting "level" was no problem.
The owners seemed very friendly and helpful and on the whole the site had a nice cared for air about it. There is no shop onsite, and there are no facilities (pub, etc) anywhere near the place so a peaceful time is fairly assured. The only slight moan is that I feel the toilet facilities could do with a bit of modernisation.
Would we go back again? Yes, I'm sure we would.
