Things we liked Quiet location, Very Well organised peaceful site, friendly staff, clean showers / toilets, pitches next to the beach
Things we did not like Bland, sterile club site, lacks character
Would we go back? Yes
Location the site is next to the Kessingland beach at the end of the Beach road, this road effectively cuts the site in two, so you have a choice of a beach front or the more sheltered site on the other side of the road.
Pitches - There are a various types of pitches available, mostly flat, some hard standing & most are of a reasonable size for a club site
Toilets / Showers 3 toilet blocks in total, Standard club showers, super clean & plenty of them.
Facilities In door washing up areas & the shop had the basics
Staff Friendly & very helpful
WI-FI Standard overpriced club WI-FI
Bar / Food None on site, but there is one pub & one restaurant next door, also there is a fishing chip van that serves pretty good food every Friday
TV Reception Most pitches have TV connection point, we did not use this as we managed to get a reasonable reception.
Fishing None on site, but the sea is only 200 yards away
Out & About The wildlife park (Africa alive) is about 1/2 away, which is well worth a visit, lowestoft has some nice beaches & the pier fishes well in the summer months.

We thoroughly enjoyed this site
We were lucky to be on the last pitch on the section near the beach. Our dogs thought it was heaven
Good facilities and well kept. Good information room and helpful wardens. £14 per night in October which is very good value
Walked along the beach to Lowestoft, into Southwold on the bus and walked along the coast on our third day. Southwold was stunning-we cant wait to go back
Had lunch at the Waterfront near the site-brilliant cheeseboard and sandwiches. Very tasty and good value
We will be back

Just got back from kessingland, we have only just joined the caravan club and were very impressed with the site. There's a selection of hard standing and grass pitches, nicely spaced out. We cant wait to go back there!
All the wardens bar one were helpful and friendly. The toilets and showers were clean, they only get cleaned in the mornings though.
(please can campers with children keep an eye on them when in the shower block, a couple of times kids had been in there and chucked loo roll around).
This is a nice site, and value for money very close to a shingle beach, is really quiet and peaceful and dog friendly. Just a couple of pointers though, if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction it can smell a bit poo-ey.
Also there's no free view signal so take a long tv ariel cable with you. They sell them on site but are expensive, we nipped into lowesoft and brought one for a Fraction of the cost as we weren't made aware of this before we arrived.
There is wi fi on site, we couldn't get it to work, but Alan one of the wardens was most helpful in getting it rectified.
There is a chip van that pops up twice a week, but to be
Honest the quality was pretty pants. I wouldn't go and get
Anything from there again.

I loved this site as I was parked on the part of the site looking over the beach. 10 steps and I was on the beach with my very happy dog. The facilities are very good although you do need long cables if you are hooking up to power and/or tv.
Close proximity to plenty of places to eat and drink. The nearest cash point is at the holiday park which is a 10 minute walk away. No tents on the part of the site nearest the beach, I assume because it could be very exposed to the weather.
The wardens were very helpful. They saw my dog sitting in the camper and immediately recommended two of the seafront pitches. The view and being able to walk on the beach won it for me and I shall be returning soon.

We have just returned from 2 nights stay at this site.
This was our first trip out in our motor home. On arrival at site we were welcomed & everything was explained to us about site & surrounding area. Lovely well maintained & clean site.
Facilities immaculate with plenty of hot water for showers. We could choose our pitch, you have pitches in shade or sun, on grass or hard standing.
It's a pity we could only stay 2 nights as they were the best nights sleep I've had in 6 months.
Staff very friendly & always on hand to answer any questions.
Will definitely be visiting again.

Had a brilliant time at this extremely well kept caravan park. All pitches well provided for, we were able to pick pitch.
We had taken our grandchildren aged eight and eleven and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves, they made friends at the playpark which was sufficient for plenty of climbing and swinging.
The toilet and shower block was immaculate and spacious with plenty of hot water. The wardens were extremely helpful. The fish and chip van that visited the site on a Tuesday and Friday did a roaring trade, lovely and fresh.
We all enjoyed that it was nice not to have leave site for a take away. The surrounding area was very peaceful and the beach right on the doorstep. Nice Pub facing beach did nice meals and very friendly just out side entrance to site.
Will certainly visit again perhaps next time on our own for a rest.

Just spent one week at this site July/Aug 2011 and what a nice welcoming site it is, greeted and treated very well by the wardens, well kept and good choice of pitches.
Sailors Home public house just outside the site was one of the best pubs for food I have visited for a while nothing seemed to much trouble, they even opened a back room up for us as the rest of the pub was busy, beer seemed a little expensive but I guess that goes with the area as other pubs I visited charged around the same, staff behind the bar were very friendly even though they would not give my mate a free hat.
Back to the site highly recommended.

Just spent a week with my partner and two young boys at this site. Met by friendly wardens who were very helpful and informative throughout our stay.
Do not agree with the previous good views on the local pub grub. However, the selection of ales and prices were reasonable.
The local shops and bus stops are about 10 minutes walk away & buses into Lowestoft and the local areas are very frequent.
The local Africa animal park is definitely worth a visit if you have children & cycling in this area we found to be safe, level and easy.
The beach at the site is all pebbles but go along the coast to find golden sand.
Coming from a holiday town ourselves we were surprised to find this part of the country reasonably quiet for the middle of August, but we didn't have to queue once during our stay

I sound like a broken record sometimes when I review Caravan Club sites; great wardens, superb facilities, well spaced pitches etc etc.
If you've visited a CC site before then you'll know what to expect; so what else does this site offer?
Location is a good point, right on the beach; (pebble beach I should point out). And a good base for exploring the Broads and coast. A very good supermarket is on the A12 towards Lowestoft to stock up.
The site is laid out over two sites really; the beach area was always full but we thought it a bit uninviting and barren; and as we use our awning or canopy a lot we decided to stay in the main site; after years of struggling with rock pegs and hardstandings we have given up and always try for a grass pitch, and these were plentiful and level.
I have read reviews that claim a smell from the local treatment plant and that put my wife off but I can report no unpleasant smells whatsoever, it was a very busy site for a rainy July week; so it must be doing something right.
Would we go back? no; I don't think so, glad we went but will continue to try different areas in future. However I'd gladly recommend it to someone who is looking for a site in the area, and CC sites are always a safe bet.

Met at reception by a very friendly couple who explained the pitches and allowed us time to look round and choose the one we wanted. We went on the Beach front.
No windbreaks allowed ( so as not to spoil the view for the back row of pitches) but this was not a problem. Smashing site, heated showers and toilets, very clean.
All facilities were at an excellent standard. We loved being able to look at the sea ( albeit a little way away). Lots of walks on the beach area and down to the sea. We were given directions to find the bus which took us one way to Lowestoft and the other way to Southwold.
Wouldn't go to Lowestoft again but Southwold was lovely. Long way to a shop, a Londis way up in the estate but we tend to be self sufficient due to having a motorhome which we don't move once we are on site.
Ate at the Sailor Pub, good easy Pub food, nice people. We loved the location and would definitely go again.
