The usual very high standards found at Caravan Club sites. Excellent location surrounded by beautiful countryside. Friendly wardens. We were able to walk into Grassington village from the site. Good pub and restaurant on the site serving good food at reasonable prices. The only downside was too many dogs with some owners that allowed them to urinate on the pitches and some who seemed to think we all enjoyed listening to their barking.

Returned from a 4 night break here, and I am sadly very disappointed.

The site is like a car park, there is nothing to make it outstanding apart from the area making it easy to get into the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

The wardens were hardly ever seen, and didn't seem to want to make eye contact or even say hello.

There are children constantly riding round on bikes, can't blame them as there is nowhere else for them to go. We were kept awake by two families laughing and drinking until half 12 one night, their children still zipping round and shouting. I feel an evening walk round by the wardens might help.

The toilet block was the normal high CC standard but the rest of the time there was uninspiring.

I don't normally feel so negative but this site left me cold.

Just spent 4 nights here and what a gem of a site. Well laid out with brilliant showers and spotlessly clean facilities. Wardens ( I hate that name) were very friendly and helpful and nothing was to much trouble. Really good walks around from gentle strolls to energetic hikes. Public footpaths everywhere. Caught the bus into Skipton ( £6. 50 return) which is a very busy market town. Would recommend for a quiet break.

Stayed here for the weekend and was a top site! Very well organised and spotless in every way! New play are is great for kids!location is great too and is only a short distance from grassington! It is clearly a popular site and think advance booking at peak times will be a must!w Would highly recommend!

Spent a night here just to try out our new caravan. The wardens were welcoming and friendly, in fact we couldn't have asked for more. I felt that if I had any issues setting up they would have been only to happy to help (and I was right).

The site has good sized hardstanding pitches with lots of squirrels and rabbits (which our daughter loved watching). The toilet block was warm and clean with all the facilities you could need, the site is well laid out so you don't have to go far for water/waste/bins etc. There is a new children's play area which was perfect for our little one (even though it was quite a cold and wet weekend).

A short walk away is the Gamekeepers Inn which although it was fully booked for food when we arrived did take away fish and chips and rather good ale. Grassington is a slightly longer walk away and there is a lot to do in the surrounding area.

Overall a nice site, I'd happily go back.

Situated in wonderful countryside and ideal for walkers but close enough to lovely towns and villages for drivers. A very busy site all year round and unfortunately no views of the countryside as it is screened by high trees and you'll be looking at other caravans, etc. Very clean site and toilet block but the grounds are overrun with rabbits, hundreds of them, which dig holes everywhere and nibbled our leads and even had a go at the motorhome! Being from the country, I think their numbers should be reduced.

Top tips: Walk part of the Dales Way which passes through Grassington. Catch the bus to Burnsell or Appletreewick and walk back or go the other way to Kettlewell and walk back (getting bus first means you're not rushing to catch it for a lift back).

Visit Skipton: it's great for shopping, eating and just walking around.

Try to avoid parking in the centre of Grassington, it may be free for a few hours but it gets VERY congested and you'll annoy the locals, go to the large Dales National car park a few minutes walk away which doesn't cost much.

Just returned from a 3 night stay. This is a lovely site and is perfect for people who like walking, especially with dogs. The site is tidy and showers warm and clean. Some pitches are quite shady because of the trees and others are open and get the sunshine quite late into the evening. The lady warden on duty was polite and informed me of the rules on site, but I feel that she lacked the friendliness of other site wardens I have met. During the evening the young children aged about 10 years old turned the site into a grand prix race track on bikes and scooters. They were going way too fast often against the one-way system, which as you can imagine was quite dangerous. Don't know where their parents were! The wardens were nowhere to be seen after the office closed and I feel they they should have walked round the site during the evenings to ensure that everything was ok, and maybe slow the children down.

We've just returned from Wharfedale having spent a wonderful Christmas there.

When we arrived we were greeted by friendly wardens, who explained the walk to Grassington, dog walks and where the pubs were.

The pitches which were available were all hard standing, although I understand there are grass pitches which were barred off because of the awful rain.

The toilet block was a little old, but kept clean and tidy.

There were some fantastic walks right next to the site, and the dog enjoyed being able to get into open fields right next to the site.

There is a static park next door, which had a lovely pub, the Gameskeepers Inn.

Fab time, have just booked to go back in June.

Just got back from this club site after staying in Grassington for the Dickensian Xmas Market (hence probably why the site was full). Not the first time that we’ve stayed at this site; it was actually the first club site we stayed at after we’d got our first van and I don’t think that much has really changed.

What to expect – typical CC site up to the usual expected standard with all the expected facilities. Reception doubles up, selling the usual odd-and-sods of camping stuff that you might need (or have forgot) whilst you’re away, heated shower / toilet block, laundry, dish wash area, numerous chemical waste disposal points, drive over motorhome waste point, information room, children’s play area (didn’t notice it being used but that might have been more due to the freezing conditions) and two dog walks. The site, as with other CC sites that we’d been to is kept up to scratch by the friendly wardens.

As for the location, the site is located about a 30-35 minute walk (depending on fast you can walk) from the centre of Grassington – out through the bottom dog walk, follow the path to the road then it’s footpath walking all the way in to the village. Grassington itself is a typical touristy village with numerous tea shops and pubs serving food and an ideal place to start a walk (visit the National Park’s Information Centre for details of local walks, etc. ). Closer to home, the site is located adjacent to a residential holiday park where the pub allows muddy booted walkers and dogs (can’t comment on the food as we’d filled up at the Xmas Market. ) They also have gym facilities but not sure if they’re open to non-residents.

Will we be going back? No doubt we will but may be during the warmer months to try out a walk or two direct from the site.

ENJOY

The site entrance is very welcoming, lovely flowers etc, the wardens very friendly and helpful.

We were fortunate to get a large pitch but one or two were small and some in quite a dark damp looking corner under trees near the the dog walk at the lower end, the site was full and I would have been disappointed to have had to have one of these.

That said the site is lovely and clean with the usual C. C facilities, the rabbits around and about are a delight and the dog walk which goes around half the site is excellent.

The Gamekeepers pub next door on the residential site is friendly, serves good food and welcomes dogs.

The Tennants arms at Kilnsey (next village) is well worth a visit, there are several ales which they rotate, the food is fantastic at really reasonable prices(best steak and ale pie I have had) and they even cooked up a special veggy meal for my fussy hubby.

We walked into Grassington and then over to Linton falls and across the the stepping stones, really pretty area. Great little footpath and walks leaflet/map available from tourist info centre at car park in Grassington.

There are walks right from the site at differing levels, but to get right up high and take in the breathtaking views make your way to Wood Nook site and follow the path with yellow markers, through and up over the dale to the top then over to the little lane and make your way down again We even saw a deer. Fantastic.

There is plenty to do around and about the area, and we will be visiting again for sure but would hope for better weather.
