First time we've visited a Caravan Club site and it certainly lived up to our expectations. Lovely clean and tidy site and fellow caravanners were all friendly and actually spoke to you! Lady warden was very nice. (I never spoke to her husband) showers powerful and hot and closed daily for cleaning.
Area is fabulous, we had wonderful days out. So many places to visit and spectacular scenery everywhere you go. Malham cove is a must visit as is Kettlewell (scarecrow festival was on when we visited and we had great fun following the trail) Tennants Arms at Kilnsey does beautiful food. Pateley Bridge was a pleasant ride out and has the most fantastic butchers. Grassington is a few minutes away by car and has a Spar for bits and bobs if you run out. We visited Skipton a few times and got provisions from Morrisons and Tesco and had a tasty meal at The Woolly Sheep pub. Bolton Abbey is another must place to go if you've never been. Beautiful! We had lots of fresh air and aching legs every day from all the walking and climbing but a brilliant time was had by all.

Lovely clean site. Booked for 5 nights, ended up staying for 10. Brilliant area for walks and biking. Can walk into Grassington from back of site where a lady who lives in lane also makes cakes to order which you collect the next day. Can get bus from outside site to Skipton and surrounding areas. Pub within walking distance serving great food.

Our first impression of this site was the friendly wardens and a warm welcome. Some pitches will need levelling blocks.
Toilet facilities were old but clean, we felt that the site was just a tad crowded, a little more space would have been appreciated.
It's a lovely walk from the site into Grassington - about 45 mins. We walked into Grassington via the Old Hall Pub in Threshfield, we just had a drink but the food looked good. All the information needed about local walks is in the information room near reception.
Paper van calls every day, first come first served basis.
TV reception is poor but there is a booster system available, you will need an ariel extension cable - you can buy these at reception.
Play ground for children is in the centre of the site, so should be safe.
There is a dog walk to the south of the site in beautiful countryside.

Went to the site Monday to Friday but decided to stay on till Sunday (enjoyed it so much).
As you approach the site (after leaving Threshfield village) the road narrows and widens so you need to be looking well ahead just in case you need to stop to let on coming vehicles through. No problem really just a tip.
Garage in Threshfield has plenty of access to get your car and van into to refuel and the air pump has an incredibly long lead so that it can easily reach your van's tyres without you having to do any awkward reversing into position. Bit of a novelty that in a garage. Garage owners understand caravanners having done it themselves and have a son whose van they sometimes use
On to the site and you are struck as soon as you turn off the road just what a well laid out area this park is in, in a woodland setting, with ponds over which you can see a super sunrise if you get up early enough.
Plenty of space on site to reverse your van into your pitch. There are some grass pitches but when we were there they were only using the hard standings (weed free) and which are plenty wide enough to take van, complete awning and car. Take rock pegs.
Don't forget to twist your EHU lead to get power. The post also has an aerial fitting so that you can hook up to the site's booster supported aerial and for which we got great pictures except for BBC1. BBC was still viewable but a bit grainy. If you don't have enough aerial cable then the shop sells cables which will always be useful elsewhere. This area has not yet gone digital so just watch for that.
Plenty of water/waste and chemical disposal points so it seems that wherever you site your van there isn't far to walk. However, whatever the distance in this setting its a very pleasant walk.
Didn't bother to look into the kids play area as it was just me and the wife so can't offer comments on that part of the site.
Toilets were always very clean and for those using the showers a bucket and mop are left out for visitors to clean their own shower area and which everyone appeared to follow. Just a tip.You do need to keep your hands moving vigorously under the hand dryers otherwise they keep switching off!
The shop tends to be milk and biscuits and little else. Think that the Caravan Club should maybe add a little extension on and provide a greater shop service. Nearest shops are in Grassington which is a bind if you run out of anything (but well worth a visit). Off licence service would be a great benefit.
Just before you get to the cattle grid near the site entrance there is a footpath walk through woods and if you keep the site on your right as move from field to field you can walk all the way round the site and then up to an exposed hill and continue your walk all the way round the adjoining Long Ashes private estate (bungalows and statics) and back down to the entrance to the site. Wonderful walk taking in the ponds area, woodland (Nuthatches, Long Tailed Tits and Green Woodpeckers in there during our stay which was a joy to see)and then climb up the hill (gentle walk) for a magnificent view right up the valley of the Wharfe towards Kilnsey Cragg. As you look at the view just pause to have a moment of envy of the folks who own the bungalow right on the top edge of Long Ashes who have that unique view!
From the bottom of the site (SW corner) there is a path into Threshfield, along the road to the garage and then cross over and head for Grassington. From the bridge over the river cut down to the river and walk along the Wharfe and then up to the village coming out at the car park and TIC. Better still carry along beside the Wharfe to the village of Hebden and have afternoon tea and cakes in the converted school.
Car parking charges in the area tend to be £2.20 everywhere you go and that is for four hours. No other scale of charges so a quick visit into Grassington can be £2.20 before you shop. The Market Place is free parking for one hour if you can get in.
Cobblestones Cafe is worth a visit. If you have a dog, as we have, then walk around the back where you can use all the facilities sitting outside with your dog, but under cover.
Back to the site at the end of the day, and, during our visit, everyone was quiet. No noise at all unlike some sites. Mind you this was not school holiday time. Having said that, by the weekend more arrivals brought kids with them (us oldies staying during the week tend to be couples!) and there was still no noise at night, or during the day for that matter.
Booking for the extra couple of days wasn't a problem despite some of the comments about CC booking arrangements!
All in all a very welcoming, clean, well organised site set in a beautiful location and its Yorkshire what more can you ask for?

First time visiting both the site & the area & have to say the dales are as pretty a place that we have visited. The site is in a great location for all of the dales, & we did as much as we could in 6 days. First impression of the site itself was it was looking a little 'tired' to me.Everything was ok but nothing more, indeed I thought Brown Moor in Hawes looked very impressive in comparison, but they are both very popular sites. Out of peak season so generally very quiet, facilities were ok, pitches seemed large enough, the walk to Grassinton took about 25 mins We couldn't get a T.V. Signal from the bollard, but were ok using the vans aerial.Did plenty of walks in the most gorgeous scenery. On a par with the Lakes I'd say.
Malham was fantastic,an 8 mile walk took in Janets Foss,Gordale scar, the tarn & cove. Also visited Aysgarth falls & Hardraw force,Ribblehead
Viaduct, other walks around Kettlewell & Burnsall.
Had a nice meal in the Craven Arms at Appletreewick, but best of all the numerous miles
Around all the minor roads around the dales, were
Breathtaking. The scenery is second to none.I'm sure we will return to this lovely part of the world very soon

My wife and my 2 small children visited this site with our touring caravan for 3 nights.
This is the second time we had visited this site, unfortunately on this visit the pub with walking distance had closed down so we had to drive into Grassington.
The site is not up to the standard of the normal Caravan Club Sites, the play area was covered in litter, the hard standings are a bit untidy with grass and weeds growing through them.
The play area surface is small pebble (pea shingle), unfortunately my young son slipped off the slide grazing his mouth and nose.
The showers and toilets were clean however we were not offered the baby and toddler room key until we asked for it (deposit required) most sites realise that you have small children when you book in a offer you the key, it was only when I saw the door I realised they had one.
We used the swimming pool in Skipton, about 9 miles away which was quite good.
The Indian restaurant in Grassington is excellent, however is not licensed and they do not take cards. They kindly allowed us to take our own alcohol.
A word of warning, if coming through Bolton Abbey the road is very narrow.
In all not a bad site, we may return but not in a hurry.

Just come back from a 4 day break. If we caravan in this area in the future we will use this site again. Its just what you need if you are after a quiet relaxing break. Toilet/shower block was very clean, site bins and recycling were cleared several times a day, reception/shop was well stocked with essentials and happy polite staff and the playpark was adequate for the kids. My only gripe about the site is that there isn't sufficient lighting along the roads. When you are walking 100 yards for a shower in the dark, the low glow of some lights would help, although in all honesty it never really presented us with any problems. All in all a great site.
P.S. Beware the hedgehogs. Don't know how the hell the little so and so kept on getting into my awning, but he did ! Gonna miss that little fellow.

We've just returned from a very pleasant 1 night stay on this site.
The site was lovely and peaceful, and even though we are not dog lovers and just about every other unit on the site had at least one dog, we never felt bothered by dog noise or mess.
The site is well laid-out, pitches are of a good size with a choice of hardstanding or grass, and the playground, whilst small, provided hours of entertainment for our three young children.
The sanitary facilities are ample and clean.
The walk to Grassington took us a good 30-45 minutes (due to aforementioned small children!) and we didn't find any good walks directly from the site - however, once you're in Grassington there are many lovely walks of varying difficulty and length.
The static park next door (Long Ashes) has a health club with swimming pool and offers day passes to CC members - something to bear in mind if the weather isn't right for walking.

This was a typical caravan club site.
We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. The main utilities block was certainly up to a good standard and the staff were very helpful. The surrounding area certainly was beautiful and if you like walking there are plenty to do. Would certainly recommend this site, we will be going again.

This is a nice site near to the village of Grassington, There are 118 pitches most of which are hardstanding and as usual with the Caravan Club all have EHU. One Toilet and shower block serves the site but is large enough to cope even when the site is full and as expected of the CC kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
The site reception also sells the necessities milk, eggs, bread etc along with the usual caravanning goods, newspapers are delivered every morning from the back of a car that drives around the site, a beep of its horn announcing it's arrival, the wardens on site at the time of our visit were friendly and helpful
There is a dog walk on site and plenty of off site walks for hikers of both the two legged and the four legged variety.
Grassington is about 1 1/2 miles from the site but can be walked quite safely and is a pleasant little village comprising, Pubs, gift shops, tea shops and a small convenience store there is also a Bank with a cash machine in the village.
Skipton is about 20mins away by car and has a supermarket and larger stores if you require.
All in all Wharfedale is a pleasant site and is situated in lovely part of the Yorkshire countryside and is well worth a visit
