We stayed here 5 nights as part of a touring holiday and it has pros and cons as follows:
Pros
On-line booking
Laundry facilities
Bar and swimming pool - across the road
Wifi - in bar only
2 play areas for children
Shop
Short walk to local shops
Pretty river runs through the site
Central to lots of tourist spots
Cons
Not enough toilets! Only three toilets and showers in each male/female block. Not enough for the number of tent pitches in my opinion. We were pitch 79 out of I reckon 100 pitches plus there are statics on top.
There seems to be a problem with the water/sewerage on the site. A sign up during our stay highlighted that some of the statics might experience issues with their water supply.
Apparently the men's toilet block one night was so blocked that my father in law went across to the the toilets in the bar on the other side of the road!
There is no facility for freezing ice packs.
Pitches are rather closer together than I like.
We enjoyed our time at Riverside due to the ease of access to tourist spots and visited Alnwick, Lindisfarne and Cragside while we were there. Wooler is a lovely place and the staff at the site were very friendly. If you like 'entertainment' in the evenings then there is bingo, a kids club etc and the bar does reasonably priced food.

I've been coming here for a few years and I love this site. The site itself is kept very tidy and well maintained. There is a well stocked shop on site and if the shop does not have what you are looking for the village is just a short walk away where there are several shops including a Co-op. There is a lake on the site and for a small fee you can get a fishing permit for it or the kids can buy a net and look for fish in the river that runs through the middle of the site for free. There is also two parks for the kids. The only down side of the site for me is the toilet/shower block. It is too small for the amount of tents and touring vans that are on site and they are in need of a major upgrade to bring them to standard.

Just spend the bank holiday weekend here. I enjoyed the site and would return. The children enjoyed the playground and the river running through the park. The site was very clean and well maintained, first time I have seen a site blowing the cut grass off the paths/roads! The toilets/showers were clean but there were only 3 toilets and showers in the female facilities for quite a large touring pitch mind I only had to queue once. Being a bank holiday it was very busy. I thought the touring pitches for caravans were close together, we had family staying in a tent I thought the pitches for those were cramped maybe due to the bank holiday or that tents are getting bigger but this left limited space for the children to play. Well stocked shop, bar clean and we used the swimming pool which was good, you must book in advance for due to the size. We had a lovely weekend the positives of this site outweigh any negatives!

Just back from a couple of nights at this site, we booked for 3 nights but left after 2, partly due to the weather but also partly due to not a lot going on when we were there. Check in was pleasant and simple, we were allocated a pitch, pitch size was a bit neat and if we had put up our porch awning it would have spread over the edge of the gravel on to the grass by some distance. Toilets and showers were ok, shower curtains in the male toilets were covered with black mould spots, you have to run the water for a while to get the hot water but when it runs it is hot enough for a shower, no temperature adjustment and the push button for water didn't stay on long. The Bar / entertainment / Restaurant area is ok, nice pint though didn't eat here. Local Village has some eating and drinking places. Village itself is very quiet so we ventured farther afield for days out.
Don't think I'd use this site again, and if it gets busy there definitely wouldn't be enough toilet and shower facilities.

Good site - shame there wasn't more to do locally - but we satisfied ourselves with a good walk!
The site was great - arriving late we called the number on the door and lo and behold within seconds the effervescent Connor arrived - what a star and asset he is - very cheery and helpful.
First night we walked into town and ate in Milanos - good food but surpassed by the amazing Indian at the top of The Peth - looking though the window you'd think it was deserted but in fact there were people everywhere out the back - a truly wonderful meal was had and they welcomed our 4 year old with open arms!
Back to the site - I was a little disappointed the pool was closed and the this wasn't mentioned when booking - however the clubhouse was clean and tidy And well priced with staff making an effort to be cheery.
The facilities block was being paInted outside whilst we were there showing constant attention to detail - the block itself was lovely and warm with good showers although the cubicles are certAinly a little on the snug side!
The shop is great - friendly staff, we'll stocked and open long hours even in the quiet depths of winter!
We have a long MH at over 9m and the plots were a little snug really but we had one just by the river which I can imagine in the summer would be truly stunning
Kids play park was also good fun
All in all a great site and at just £9/night simply amazing value

I have just spent last weekend at this campsite. Its the first time that I have visited Wooler and was pleasantly impressed with this lovely town with plenty of pubs and places to eat. The campsite is situated along the river bank and is very picturesque even in autumn. I will be revisiting in the summer. The site facilities were very good with a well stocked on site shop with great long opening hours. The toilet shower block was always immaculate could have done with larger shower cubicles as my clothes got wet in such a confined space. The on site club is about 100 yards walk out of the site and has good facilities including amusements great swimming pool for the kids and two bars for the adults with great weekend entertainment. The Saturday night we went out, the club was very busy and we had a good night. The touring part of campsites are usually located at the back of the parks but with this one its in a prime location at the entrance. Very pleased with site and will be waiting to visit again next year.

Set in a beautiful area, handy for coast & countryside. Stayed in one of the 3 camping pods which was great as it rained heavily all the first day so no problems with putting up the tent in the rain. Pod was very basic but with 2 power sockets for own lamps etc. Hooks would be useful for hanging things up, even if on the outside for wet weather gear. A heater would also have been welcome as it was very cold at night. Toilet block clean but basic with 3 small shower cubicles. No designated washing up area, just the 2 sinks in the laundry room. The site is really set up for statics which cover a massive area, and caravans with their own facilities. The shop looked to be well stocked and the restaurant, just a short walk away was handy for a meal when it was too wet to cook outside. Not too noisy when I was there, but the schools had just gone back so not too many people around.

After reading a few of the reviews I thought I might have made a mistake in booking here, how wrong I was. The site is very well laid out and well maintained. The Staff were extremely friendly and helpful at all times. Guests were made to feel safe and secure with staff walking around the site frequently and security keeping a check on noise levels.
The facilities were excellent. There’s a handy shop on site, well stocked and open late. The showers and toilets were warm and cleaned to high standards every day (There were only 3 cubicles but I never had to wait for a shower). There’s a laundry/ironing/dish washing room similarly well kept. The fishing lake is larger than it looks on the sites photographs and there’s no shortage of free rising rainbow trout. There’s a large field for dog walking and enclosed play areas for the children. The water points and rubbish bins are ideally situated.
Two minutes walk from the Tent and Touring Area takes you to the bar, restaurant, amusements and free swimming pool across the road. The meals we tried at the restaurant facility were beautiful and reasonably priced. The beer prices were a bit on the high side but a further 3-minute walk away and you’re in the heart of friendly Wooler. The village has a good range of shops, cafes, bars, tearooms, takeaways etc. The pubs are very welcoming, family and dog friendly.
Disliked: Having to book a place in the swimming pool at 8am that day if you wanted to swim.
The design of the shower cubicles causes a problem because the shower curtain has to be placed inside the tray. Once the shower is running, if you don’t check, the weight of the water causes the curtain to block the drain hole, resulting in the cubicles overflowing.
The biggest dislike of all was having to leave. Riverside Country Park is a very good place to stay and I can’t wait to return.

Just returned from this site and had a fantastic time. We were in our Corado tent with our extension on the front and we had plenty room even with our two windbreakers pitched in front of the extension. It was lashing down when we arrived and we stopped in the car hoping for the rain to ease but it didn't so me and the wife made a start pitching up whilst the kids stayed in the car, within 10mins or so we had people come along and help us which was great. The next morning and indeed the rest of the week we seen no rain just lovely warm sunshine which is always a bonus.
The site itself is next to a bust road but you can only hear the traffic during the night whilst trying to sleep but even then its only the odd car once every 15min or so, so it's fine if you can sleep as soon as your head hits the pillow.
The river that runs through the site is great fun for the kids, it has a small playpark for the littler ones and a lovely peaceful little lake if you like fishing.
The clubhouse is a short stroll from the tents and across the road, we had one evening meal in there which was lovely, there was entertainment on every night and a spot of bingo which we won lol, there is also a small swimming pool which you need to book a time slot for, my girls went in twice during our stay.
The toilet block and showers were lovely and clean and even with the site being pretty full we never needed to queue, 3 showers and 3 sinks in the mens with 4 toilet cubicles.
Decent little small shop with reasonable prices on the site as well.
All in all we love it here and shall have no hesitation returning. Keep up the good work.

Stayed at this site for Christmas. Love Wooler, which is only about 5 minutes slow walk away, with its friendly pubs (which are also dog friendly) this site is, I believe part of a large chain, it caters mostly to static caravans. Toilets were nice clean and modern. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. I got a cheap deal as it was quiet, prices when busy are quite expensive.
