Just returned from this wonderful site.I stayed in a tent for just 2 nights but wished I could have stayed longer. The site is well maintained and has everything you need.It has a large fishing lake with swans in the park and 2 play park areas for the kids,a shop on site that is reasonably priced,a launderette with tumble dryers which came in handy as the kids loved splashing around in the stream, ironing facilities clean toilets and showers, and just across the road at the entrance to the site there is the riverside bar with family room for entertainment and a small swimming pool with jacuzzi. You have to book on arrival for the pool as it only allows 20 people in at a time.I had a Sunday carvery before leaving and the food was good and priced at £6 adult and £4 child is good value.Everyone I dealt with on site are very friendly. This site is perfect for families with children and you don't have to spend loads of money if you don't want to,although there is the bar with entertainment and a few arcade games and pool tables, there if you want. There are loads who stay on the site and just relax with a few drinks and a bbq while all the kids play together which gives a nice feel to the site.Definitely recommend.

It's a nice site but we were camped near the entrance (plot 45) and was noisy, as it was near the main road and we were also right next to the main footpath which was constantly in use. I saw the security guard once and I think that was because I complained on the previous morning about the noise coming from various tents and caravans. We were informed when we arrived that noise wasn't tolerated and music etc was to be turned off at 10pm sharp.
The function room, bar and pool were a very short walk and were very nice and reasonably priced. The toilets had no toilet roll in all the time we were there, only 3 showers and very small, water too hot for my 3 yr old.
I would go back with ear plugs! If your after a quiet break, don't go here! But the surrounding area and the village itself is stunning. Oh we were also charged £17 for a 4 man tent.

This a lovely site. We camped here with 2 other family's may bank holiday. We did have electric but only because they mixed up our booking and thought we had touring caravans and so put us on hard standings. Fortunately we realised before we arrived and so they gave us very a very large grass area to pitch and electric hook up.
The site is very well maintained and has a lovely park and duck pond. The toilets are a bit dated but do the job and are kept clean. You can walk into Wooler in 5/10 mins. Plenty of shops and pubs. The pool and pub is across the quite busy main road from the site and is small but good fun for the kids. There was a bit of road noise during the night. The site shop was well stocked.
Over all a very good site. It's a shame they don't usually take tents on electric.

As with other reviewers here, the one thing that stood out on this site was noise! The tent area is relatively small and is close to the main road which is used 24 hours.
Toilets were kept clean by the site staff. Showers were also clean but cramped and didn't seem to be enough for the size of the site (only 3 for male and 3 for female).
This is a large site mainly set up for statics, it has a well stocked shop on site, along with laundry and washing up facilities.
Wooler nice town with plenty of shops and a few good pubs. Overall reasonable site but don't think I would book again in a hurry.

What can I say its a big static/lodge site, touring is an added interest. Nice site, river, pool, bar albeit across the busy main road on the opposite static site. It is overpriced as per the facilities and is more for static use. Found it okay but wouldn't go back in a hurry. Wooler is a nice town and it is handy for the borders

Lovely park but quite expensive. It cost us £32 a night for 2 adults 2 kids 1 dog and awning! The touring area nice and flat you can't get electric if you have a tent but there was still plenty of tents there.

Toilets clean, dishwashing area and laundry also clean, this was situated opposite the reception area and shop which I think wasn't very convenient. Also the only rubbish bins on the whole site are close to the entrance. A big holding area where you can stop with the car or walk to. Great ???

The club house is over the main road and the indoor swimming pool behind it. Kids loved the pool, very impressed. You book a time slot at reception on the day but the pool is closed on Mondays. There's a small amusement area with a pool table, air hockey etc

Wooler is a nice town. There's plenty of food shops coop, chemist, butchers bakers etc went for a meal at the anchor pub. Very nice, very big portions and a good price

There's a lovely dog walking area on the playing feild next to the site. Football post here as well.

We would go back but not in a hurry. Like I said I want more to justify paying that much a night.

This site is great, it is very clean and friendly, when we stayed there we stayed in a static caravan which was lovelly and the whole site is peaceful we never heard any noise at all.
The site has a lovely river and some parks for children, there is also lots of exploring for children to do. We have two toddlers and they loved going to the parks and walking back to the caravan.
The village is a very short 5-10 minute walk and has some lovely bars, resteraunts and cafe's. I would highly reccomend this caravan site if you are looking for a quiet family break in a lovely little village.
Alnwick Castle is also only a short drive and the kids loved it there as you can go on a Harry Potter tour of where scenes from the film were set.

Stayed here for 4 nights in school hols in April. Altogether there were 14 of us in 3 static caravans, 6 adults and 8 children. We were very pleasantly surprised by the caravan, it looked brand new, was very spacious and had central heating which came in very useful! The site itself is lovely, right next to the river and overlooking the cheviots and there's lots of places for children to play and explore.

It's not far from wooler where there are some nice pubs for meals etc especially the anchor where they were very accommodating and let us have the dining room to ourselves as there were so many of us! The only down side is the swimming pool which is very small and you have to book to go which can be a bit annoying. The staff were all friendly and helpful and we didn't hear any noise late at night. We're already planning to go back in the summer.

Let me start by saying that we have stayed on this site approx 12 times over the last 4yrs or so, and have always enjoyed our visit. Unfortunately the last year or so has seen some very unpopular changes.

To start with, the tent area is now gone and has been replaced with static caravans, there are two cubicles in the mens toilet block, neither having toilet rolls in them at 9.00am. The club house is now open to the general public when it wasnt big enough to cater for the site alone!

The small arcade area for the kids has now almost disapeared, next to no machines in there now, not ideal if you have a teenager to entertain!

Not cheap at £25 per night for 2 adults and a child. They do have a swimming pool that you have to book if you want to use it, but it appears to have a problem with the pump as its quite often closed for repair! And the changing rooms are absolutely freezing, with no heating in them whatsoever.

I give the staff 10/10. Think they are friendly and hard working.

Brilliant site, great pitches and nice toilets. Guy in shop very helpful and friendly.
Swimming pool, kids games room and family lounge all great. Nice pint and meal in Wheatsheaf hotel in Wooler itself, kids allowed and the Anchor inn was nice as well.
Great little bakery in Wooler called Trotters, Alnwick castle a great place to visit with the kids.
All in a brilliant place and area to visit and will definitely be back.
