We stayed here for a short weekend break. The site seemed very pleasant on first arrival with touring caravans on one side and a smaller area for tents on the other. There is a club and a small pool associated with the site which you have to cross a main road to get to. The site doesn’t seem to have a curfew as we were awaken at midnight by rowdy parties returning from their night out and then again at 2pm by another party this coupled with the noise from passing lorrys made sleeping difficult be warned the tent pitches are near the access to the site. The showers are adequate and warm although the site of unflushed toilets in the morning gave them a dirty appearance. The site was fairly full mostly with caravans so I guess if you like the club seen its ok but the noise was too much for me.

Visited this site with husband and 2 children aged 10 and 12. This is a very nice site, great in the summer when the kids can play in the stream and the club was very good, the only downside is its a canny walk across the main road, no way could you let the kids go on their own. Staff on the site were very friendly they will help you with any problems or just information on where to go. During day we went for a walk up to Wooler, there is lots of pubs to go to or for something to eat. Swimming pool is ok but a bit small, we had to book at reception for this as they only let certain amount of people in at certain times of the day, so book early if dont want to be dissapointed. The park on site is good for the kids, it's a lovely walk round the small lake with some lovely caravans there. They also have bingo on in the main club and got a canny adults bar. I will definately be going back to this site, but beware of the security guard coming round at midnight if you are making too much noise, (a good thing really).

Very nice site, have been many times. Good shop on site, great pub a small walk to pub but worth it great entertainment for the children. Lovely swimming pool. Nice site to have a walk around, small river. Only down side about this site is it needs more showers and toilet's or even the shower and toilet block could be updated. Would go back to this site.

August 2005 Stayed here for weekend nice enough site but £25 a night for caravan with ehu this did include use of pool etc
Shop is on open 9 till 5 and I mean 9 till 5
The only bins on the site are right at the main entrance so you need to go all the way up there to get rid of your rubbish
Toilets were clean enough but there was only 3 showers

August 2004 Searched long and hard in Northumberland for a site that met all of our needs... 3 children, ages 4, 7 and 8 wanted a play area, but we didn't want a huge site. Found it hard to reach a compromise, so in the end plumped for this one in Wooler. Arrived Bank Holiday Monday as everyone else was leaving (that was the plan!). Pitch was level and fairly spacious, but full of litter that our 4 year old spent collecting. Pitched the tent before the rain came, and got the kids to bed.
Sleeping was another matter. We didn't realise that the A697 is one of the main, very busy, traffic routes South from Edinburgh, and lorries trundle along it right through the night, with no let up. If you are looking for entertainment then it's probably the site for you, but we weren't enamoured with being woken by lots of "tanked up" folks piling out of the club at 11.30 and then partying till the early hours. Only plus point is that the club is over the main road on the main static site!
Small swimming pool on the main site, but very heavily chlorinated so take your goggles.
Toilet block very small for a site this size, and quite dirty. However, water is free and showers hot. Only two washing up sinks for all the tourers and no food preparation area.
On the plus side, the couple who work on site were very pleasant and helpful. They'll freeze your ice packs for no charge if you ask at the shop.
Our own fault for picking a big site, hence our disappointment, but the constant noise was a major drawback. Whilst we were in the area however, visited a few other sites...
