Sitting in my caravan listening to the 'silence' lovely! What a peaceful site, only the noise from the trains as they pass by.

Wardens are very helpful but unobtrusive and the facilities are great. Very clean toilets and showers with piped music in the background.

Husband has had a great time coarse fishing for the first time and all the other fishermen have been very helpful too.

I would recommend this site if you want a quiet time and it's so near the shopping centres on the York ring road.

We even went to cinema for the first time in years because it was just down the road.

Once again for the third time a great time was had a Moorside. Kim and Ken were as always helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Lots to do not too far from the site. My husband always fishes and there are some really big fish in the lake.

Great for visiting nearby York and we also travelled to Scarborough and Whitby for days out.

The nice thing about this site is that there are quite a lot of the same people return each year so you build up nice friendships with not only Kim and Ken but also the other caravaners.

We will definitely be returning in 2012.

Spent a lovely weekend at Moorside with friends. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The site is well maintained and looks beautiful, especially with the on site fishing lake.

The shower facilities were warm, clean and well kept. The fishing lake is well stocked with silver fish, carp and tench. X2 12 pound carp made my weekend.

Visited Moorside for the 3rd time. 1st visit was 4 years ago. Still a clean, quiet, well kept site.

The only noise you get are the trains but these don't go through the night, having said that, if you have anything to complain about on this site that would be it. Plenty of walks along the river or on the 'Moor'.

Look out for Adders in heather. For those with dogs the local vets in Strensall hold anti venom. (just in case)

Wardens are very helpful and keep site very clean and tidy.

Good centre for east coast, Whitby, Pickering and Heartbeat Country. Eden Camp WW2 museum and Yorkshire air museum to name but a few.

Good pricing for what you get.

Can't comment on the fishing as I don't fish.

Will we be back? You Betcha

Lovely site with very helpful wardens. The shower block was always very clean, and the water was always hot the addition of music in the shower blocks was very pleasent -60s music-.

The site was very well looked after.

The laundry room had washer spin dryer, tumble dryer and iron all easy to use and reasonably priced. My husband enjoyed the fishing, which was also reasonable £3.00 per day.

The park and ride to york was just a few minutes drive away.Good location for visiting the yorkshire moors.

We will stay again if we revisit the area

When we arrived on site the Wardens welcomed us and showed us to our pitch. They couldn't do enough for us. The facilities are always kept immaculate. Everyone on site were very friendly and the fishing is excellent.

There are trains that pass the site but you hardly notice them.

There is a chinese takeaway and fish and chip shop in the village. Plenty of supermarkets within a few miles of the site plus a park n ride into york. It is also a good base to visit the East coast resorts of Whitby, Scarborough, Brdilington. We will definitley be returning.

Have just come back from this site. Very quiet and peaceful. Owner friendly and helpful about the area. Reasonable spaces with small hedges between vans. Didn't see too many other people out and about - suspect some were residents rather than holidaymakers - but those we did see were friendly.

The shower block was superb - best we have seen so far. Really, more like shower cubicles you have at home - and they are free. Immaculately clean everywhere.

Village and pub within walking distance which we really liked and the site nicely placed to visit Yorkshire Moors and northern Peak District too. Would definitely recommend this site and would visit again.

Wonderful site. Quiet and peaceful, very neat, clean and well-kept. Staff very helpful and friendly, we found the other 'residents' to be so as well. We had a nice, flat grass pitch with hook-up, though hard-standings are available as well. Some of these are at the edge of the fishing lake, which is very pretty and was popular with fishermen.

This site is also super if you have a dog - a great dog-walking area is accessed via a gate at the back of the back of the site, and Strensall Common is just over the road - lots of open space for dogs to run around. (Note there are sheep on the common, so your dog must be under control).

A railway line runs right past the site, but that shouldn't put you off, as we barely noticed the odd train.

We will definitely go back to what is now one of my favourite sites.

Spent a second stay this year at Moorside , 10 days in May and 14 days in September. Weather was superb

Site was peace perfect peace, lovely setting. Not far from the park and ride into York. Very near Monks Cross shopping Centre. Tesco Metro in the Village along with several pubs.

Toilets and Showers always clean and tidy. Only had to wait once for one of the showers but I was not in a hurry.

Brilliant place to unwind and chill out. Ideal for quality time without the normal buzz associated to caravan parks. No one hurries here. Life just meandered along. Bliss comes to mind

A very pleasant and very clean site, wardens very friendly and helpful. Toilet and shower block clean at all times just had to wait on a couple of occasion but the site was full as it was August. A lot of seasonal vans on this site all very friendly. Nice fishing lake busy at all times, the site is in a good location to visit shops and tourist attraction, My only one negative on this site in my opinion the vans are pitched too close together
