Wonderful adults only site with coarse fishing (charge).
We opted for fully serviced pitch with access ten yards behind the van to the fishing lake.
The toilets and showers both ladies and gents were spotlessly clean and ultra modern.
There are hard standing pitches and grass pitches all well looked after with closely mown grass.
The site is well managed and looked after by a very amicable hard working couple.
There is good dog walking just off site,
The only slight downside is the proximity of the railway line but it didn't bother us.
Convenient for visiting York.
Will definitely be returning.

Site very well run, clean and tidy, free WiFi, washing, dryer machine.
Very long walk to strensall for bus to York.
Very good well stocked fishing lake £4 a day, some monster in it.
Website 2 yrs out of date. Don't turn up before. 1pm OR you will get fined £10. (that is not on webb site).
Fantastic shower block.
£26 a night, 2 adults, no dog, no awning.
A quite relaxing break, would return again, on time. Ha. Ha

Stayed at this campsite for 2 nights
The wardens are very nice and friendly but there’s a lot of sited vans so very clicky
The previous warden is still on the site and decided he could tell my husband off while he was fishing which didn’t go down too well as he’s 57 years of age and been fishing in matchers since he was 11. The new owner Craig did come over and apologised.
It advertises that there’s free Wi-Fi but you can’t get on it and also the tv reception is shocking.
Then early hour of Sunday morning someone was walking about pinching bits off other caravans

Been a year since last visit wow new toilets and showers have to be the best I have been in still a lovely little site, had a super pitch and great to be next to the pond. Yes trains could be heard but didn’t trouble us.
Very friendly wardens who gave us all advice needed. Can’t wait for next visit with the fishing rods on board
Local supermarket within easy reach plenty shopping in York easily accessible. Loved our stay

Me and my wife have been to this site on numerous occasions. We both love the place, and have made many friends.
The site is very clean and tidy, and has everything you could wish for in a caravan site.
David and Carolyn work very hard to keep the site up to spec.
I would recommend anyone to try moorside as you will not be disappointed. Unless your one of the idiots who criticise the site because the lake is down on its depth and a bit of algie here and there. Obviously can't fish !

This owners of this site obviously make sufficient income from the seasonal vans, the storage, the fishing and the occasional tourer, enough to pay the 2 hardworking wardens, but not enough to warrant any changes or upgrades to the caravan site or the website overall.
Covid safe, motorhome (or only) waterpoint - very long hose required to fill and buckets required to collect grey water. A simple dog poo bin alongside the 'gate' to the common, would be useful.
Saying this it's clean and tidy and peaceful, and reasonably priced. However remember the website is out of date.
