Was a pretty expensive visit. We didn't look ahead and left it a bit late before looking for a site (my fault was crazy hungover :( ) upon arriving there was a bit of confusion over whether we could stay there and we had to leave a deposit for a key to the shower block. The shower block was brand new and full of all the latest mod cons.
The site wasn't really designed for tents as it was very rocky and we had great difficulty in putting in the tent pegs!
All in all was a good trip and made a few new friends, none of which were the crazy midgies! They were biting us like rabid dogs! Nothing a few beers couldn't fix though :D

This is a well maintained site, the facilities were clean and tidy. Entry into facilities block by way of entry card system which wasn't a problem. The block was well heated and showers were effective and water was hot, also liked the way the cubicle area was sufficiently spacious to not have to cope with wet flooring after showering. There was a good laundry facility with washers and dryers - didn't use them, but again the area was spotless. So too was the wash up area.
TV reception was by way of aerial connection on the ehu post, slightly patchy reception but watchable - so you'll need a reasonably long aerial cable for it.
The site does border the A9 road, but we were not pitched too close to it. The road noise wasn't intrusive and the location certainly made up for it. Located at the southern end of Aviemore we found it well situated for accessing shops and eateries as well as going for some lovely woodland walks. As for eateries, the Happy Haggis fish and chip restaurant and take away is excellent - quality and value and only 5 mins walk from the site. The on site restaurant was always packed out during our stay, so obviously a very popular choice.
Aviemore has all you need - supermarket, bakers, banks, rail station, bus services.
Will definitely return to this site as it is a great location, clean, efficient and friendly.

Deciding to take advantage of an unusually mild November weekend, I arrived at the campsite in the dark and without a reservation, and checked in for two nights. The girl on reception was very helpful and friendly, and she went out of her way to find me a spot close to the services block.
The pitch I was given was hard standing, and electricity was included in the price.
The service block is generally very clean and tidy, and a pass card is need to get in. The gents toilets were modern and clean; the only exception was the ceilings in the shower cubicles, but I did not find this much of a problem. There are only three showers, though, and one was out of commission..
I did find it strange that the drinking water supply is in a cupboard built into the service block, and for which the pass card is required to gain access. Maybe there is another one which I missed in the dark!
As others have mentioned, the site is very close to the A9, but I was not right beside the road and I did not find the traffic noise intrusive.
I did not try the restaurant on-site, but there are plenty of other eating establishments in the area. The Old Bridge Inn is only a few minutes walk away (head down the Rothiemurcus road, then take the first left into Dalfaber Road) and offers very good 'gastropub' food at a moderate price, as well as a selection of real ales and cider fronm the local Cairngorm brewery and a wide selection of bottled beers (and free Wifi). Towards the centre of Aviemore is the Cairngorm Hotel, which has a livelier atmosphere, with live music on every day, a couple of Cairngorm Ales and a dining room offering a good choice of pub food (I recommend the Venison served in a Yorkshire Pudding!).
There is a good selection of shops in Aviemore, within 10 minutes walk of the campsite, including a Tesco supermarket.
The campsite is in a good location, whether for outdoor activities in the area, wining and dining in the evening, or stopping off close to the A9 on a journey north or south. It is a little on the expensive side, but worth it for the location.

We visited towards the end of the summer season having toured around the Highlands and Islands and it wasn't one of the better sites we stayed on.
Facilities were good, clean and secure, you had a swipe card to enter the services block.
The A9 runs right beside the site and was fairly noisy even at 3am!
The ground is terrible if you're camping, very sandy and we needed to borrow pegs from reception in order to pitch our tent.
On site pizza restaurant was excellent, but drinks were very expensive.

I found this site to be clean and tidy down side was toilets were to far away from tourers and no play park for over 5yrs. If you go through woods village is only 3mins away instead of walking along main street.
This site is good for visiting Landmark as it is only 10 mins by car. Anyone going to Landmark take a packed lunch as you can go in and out to your car as many times as you want as food is a bit pricey in the park.
Site is a bit more in price than I would usually pay. We were a party of 2adults and 3kids.
Aviemore has a Tesco handy for your grocery shopping and plenty of small souvenir shops it also has a dry ski slop in town centre. We didn't eat in any of the towns eating places.

1st visit to this site, stayed for just the one night but I would visit again as its perfectly located just 3 mins from aviemore`s many attractions, pubs and restaurants etc.
Toilet block was very clean and heated well, all the facilities that are needed are provided. It wasn't that busy at the time we ( the missus & me ) stayed, but any busier and the 3 showers might get a bit of a queue.
The tent pitches were not the best, no grass and a bit stony/rocky, but not really a big deal
The Italian pub/pizzeria at the sites entrance was a added bonus and seemed very popular with the locals so must be pretty good
Would easily visit again

We did not book to stay at this site but there was plenty of room on our arrival.
My only grumble was that the ground is very rocky/sandy and therefore after a little rain our awning was very messy when it came to us leaving.
Apart from that the site is lovely. It is a nice walk into Aviemore and only 5 mins so perfect for all with some lovely shops, bars and restaurants.
The toilets and showers were spotless and the card entry system I think is a great idea.
There is no shop on site but as Aviemore is within walking distance there is no need I felt.
We enjoyed a lovely meal at the restaurant on site and £20 for the both of us I thought was a very reasonable price to pay for two pasta dishes.
The site is very well set in its location and would be a lovely place in the winter.

I'm going to start with the negative first to get it out the way.
Do not camp here in a tent unless you like 'hard standing' and have a blow up mattress or camping beds. Spent 10 minutes digging up protruding rocks before we could set up the tent and then bent half the metal tent pegs trying to hammer them into the rock filled ground. A simple 6 min task took nigh on 15.
Needless to say I wont be going back there unless I buy a camper or caravan/trailer tent.
Other than that the site is awesome, facilities are fantastic and well presented and the location is ideal. The main thoroughfare of Aviemore is within walking distance as well as its restaurants and bars.
OVERALL: Great site unless your in a tent

Site is situated close to village centre (5/10 min walk). Electrics are now paid for at reception, no need for meter card. One main block which contains toilets, showers, laundry, dish washing facilities. You need 'pass card' to get in but then you need to use it again to get into toilets - bit extreme and can't see reason why. £5 deposit for card. The site is very rocky and gritty underfoot, not much grass. There are a lot of 'all season' caravans on site, some of which are extremely grotty and are down grading the site.
There are woodlands behind the site - great for doggy walks. The site is situated close to the A9, you can hear some noise but it doesn't keep you awake. Site could be improved by Water Point and Chemical Toilet Point being installed at the far end of site, as its quite a hike up to main block for water & emptying waste. These are also only accessed by the 'pass card' Overall the site was pretty quiet. Would recommend that you try and get a pitch near reception, to avoid being placed among the worst 'grotty' caravans. Toilets were always clean when used.

Site is easily accessible and within easy walking distance of the village centre. Bar/restaurant quite costly but I suppose you're paying for the convenience of it being on site. Excellent central location for exploring the surrounding area.
Kids play area is basic and in need of some TLC. Shower/toilet block very very clean - accessed by an entry card system (£5 deposit) and has washing machines/tumble driers.
There are plenty of eateries, pubs, a Tesco, and a petrol station in the village so it can provide eveything you need.
Campsite is on the small-ish side and some noise from the adjacent A9 through the night but nothing to spoil a visit.
