Having read the reviews below, I begin to worry that I may becoming a caravan snob or just too fussy.
This site is another (like Blair Castle) whose appeal is mainly on its superb location. It is extremely handy for Aviemore and the Rothiemurchus Estate but on-site facilities could be a whole lot better.
The majority of touring pitches are on hardstanding but level ground and were of reasonable sizes. There did not appear to be any fully serviced pitches. Electricity is supplied from the post with the aid of a meter card. Previous reviews suggested that this was uneconomical but I totally disagree as one card lasted us 6 nights and we were running an extra fridge, 2 TV's and an X-box!
The toilet/wash facilities are disappointing. Access is via a security card. In the mens there were only THREE showers and one of them was for disabled visitors. The facilities never appeared particularly clean although they are closed from 12-3 for cleaning. Yes, closed for 3 hours. Not that I saw any cleaning beginning at 12 even though security card access for visitors is denied after 12. I thought this was ludicrous and inconvenient. I was present in reception when a visitor complained about the unclean toilets.
I found staff to be helpful enough although a little more information about the site could have been useful, for example TV is rubbish but bring an extended aerial lead with you to plug into their point.
The chemical toilet and waste emptying are done in the same area. Like most sites, the chemical toilet sink is situated about waist height so remember this when you take a full waste as it is extremely difficult to lift it to the sink.
My last grumble is about the on-site Italian Restaurant. Not good value at all. £12.95 for pizza, pasta or salad does not seem value to me whatsoever. No starter or dessert included unlike other restaurants which offer set menu prices.
So, the good stuff - Aviemore is a superb wee town offering a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants. The chip shop nearest High Range is excellent. We only tried the International Starters restaurant in the town which was just ok. It's a similar idea to tapas but with small dishes from Scotland, Asia, America & Europe from which you're advised to select 2 or 3. I'm afraid it was small dishes, big prices. Kids ate free but TWO chicken nuggets and a few chips is a poor offering.
The nearby Rothiemurchus Estate offers a bountiful amount of sports and activities and slightly further on is Loch Morlich where you can partake in any form of watersport. Beautiful beach and excellent facilities.
The Macdonald Resort in Aviemore is also worth a visit.
There is so much to do in the Aviemore area that we will definetely return as soon as possible. If we returned to High Range it would only be due to its excellent location.

We stayed for two nights was a wee bit pricey but you can see where the money is being spent the toilet block very modern and was spotless. There were two washing machines and dryers which worked well. The kids play area could do with some improvements not much to do. Had a great meal at the Italian restaurant which is part of the site.
Very handy for Aviemore 5 minute walk. Would definitely stay again

This was my 3rd visit to the campsite and it just keeps getting better! The ground is very rocky however they have appropriate pegs at reception for a hire charge of £1 each.
The toilet block is always clean and provides all the necessary facilities, washing machine, drier, dish washing sinks, iron, hairdryers (and it's heated!)
The Italian restaurant which is at the entrance to the site is good value for money and only a few minutes walk you are in Aviemore where there are loads of really good places to eat, the Ski-ing Doo and the Cairngorm are two of our favourites!
The area provides lots of things to do, steam train, the Cairngorm Mountain railway, Landmark Centre at Carrbridge to name but a few!
I've no doubt we will be back again!

We stayed in this site in July 2010, we drove in off the street, and all seemed well until we got to our allocated pitch. There were a lot of units on a seasonal pitches with shabby weathered awnings which let the site down. There is only one water tap which is housed at the entrance to the site (with a key pad lock), so a long walk if you are at the bottom of the site. The showers & wash room again are at the top of the site but are of excellent quality. If you require EHU you will be charged extra by way of an electricity card which I thought was a bit much considering the pitch fees. And for a two night stay we needed two of them. The site is in a good position for Avimore town and is only 10 - 15 minute walk away, there is also a pizza restaurant on site which always seemed to be busy. Would I go back to the site? NO the site was not for me.

This campsite has excellent facilities. The toilet block was immaculate and the showers excellent. There is a small playpark for kids and the site is small and quiet enough for you not to worry about traffic. There is no shop on-site, however the centre of Aviemore is only a 5 - 10 minute walk away.
Although the facilities are excellent I thought it a little pricey, we paid £20 per night for 2 adults & 1 child but probably worth it for the excellent facilities.
The ground is absolutely awful for tents. The pitch we were on consisted of 2 inches of sand on top of rock. You can hire long steel pegs from reception but even with these it was real effort pitching our tent. If the ground was better we would definitely go back.

The staff were very helpful and went to a lot of trouble to find us a pitch for such a large outfit at such short notice (we just turned Up). We were on a lovely pitch and all pitches are hard standing
Facilities are very good but it is a bit of a walk to get water and for chemical disposal. The value for money is very good and the site is much cheaper than the site we had abandoned. Italian Restaurant attached to the site does an excellent value buffet every night.
Good facilities in Aviemore for kids, with a good play park, swimming pool and adventure play centre located within the MacDonald Resort, although the swimming pool is a bit pricey at £10 per Adult & £5 per child. Aviemore is a short walk away with plenty of eating establishments and a well stocked Supermarket.
Love this area and would return to this site again

In terms of location, this site is brilliant. It's a short walk into Aviemore, which is one of the best towns in Scotland. It has great shops, bars and restaurants, as well as an excellent leisure complex. Outdoor activities are in abundance here - you can book to go gorge walking or climbing at several locations in town.
The site was great - facilities were good, there was a restaurant and pitches were ideal. I must comment on the customer service though. The patronising fellow behind the bar reeled of his script about times, regulations etc. Etc. In total parrot fashion - a bizarre experience. When our electricity went off for most of the day, he said it was our fault, even though it had been switched off when a workman dismantled the EHU bollard!
Would definitely return, and simply continue to bite my tongue when dealing with the man on the front desk.

One night stop only. Paid £20 for the night plus £2 for an electric card - which we were told would be more than enough for a night.
Facilities spotless and the site was very well kept.
Wardens not really overly helpful. Whilst booking in we were told that we needed to be off site by 11am next morning - fine with us. Next sentence warden told us how showers would be closed from 12 -3pm for cleaning! seems to be a little parrot fashion and no thought for what was being said.
In the morning found our electric card had run out during the night - only running a small fridge. Went to warden but total indifference. Told us we must have run lots of electric - confirmed again we didn't as out for the evening. No further discussion - just not interested.
A good site for families and seemed most people were staying a few days - probably wouldn't use for a one night stop again.

Excellent / spotless facilities, prices reasonable, pitches if site was full would be very close, they could screen some of the pitches Food in restaurant reasonable and food very good. Very convenient for Aviemore and Cairngorms Enjoyed our stay and would be more than happy to visit again but not in peak season.

Stayed here for one night in a tent.
Paid £19 which was on the pricey side. Pitches were spread out and sheltered. Ground was very stony and very hard to push in tent pegs. The main road behind the site was very noisy and we did not sleep well. The site is very nice and toilet block was spotless. It was a 10 min walk in to Aviemore and the bar and restaurant on site were very expensive.
