Stayed here for a very Sunny week in July. Lovely well-kept site with fantastic modern toilet blocks (sensors in the shower mean you just have to wave a hand to turn on the water)
Staff helpful and friendly.
Very tranquil site, leafy with pine trees and chickens - you buy can buy the eggs in reception.
Drivable to Whitby with a Lidl and a Spar on the way (good fuel prices at the Spar).
Good wifi signal and O2 (not 3G) throughout site.
Would return - great site.

Had a couple of nights at Ladycross last week and will definitely be back again. It is such a lovely peaceful site which is just what we want now the boys are grown up. We were shown to our pitch and were shown where the facilities were which was a nice touch. All the staff were very pleasant and friendly. The shower blocks were fabulously clean. 4 showers, 8 toilets and 5 sinks in the ladies and similar in the mens. The area is a pine forest with grass and hard standing. Small shop in office with basics and you can order papers. About 5 miles to Whitby and a couple of miles to Goathland (heartbeat). There is a pub a couple of minutes drive away but we didn't use it so cant comment. In my opinion a children's play area would spoil this park, the children who were there seemed very happy riding bikes round the parks roads and playing in the pine woods. All in all a brilliant site.

Just returned from a great week at Ladycross plantation. We found the site very quiet, even at the weekend. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, showing us to our pitch on arrival. The facilities were excellent, toilet blocks always clean, ( I'm really fussy about the showers and toilets) as well as the washing up areas.
Only a few minutes drive into Whitby. We will definitely stay here again and recommend the site. The only thing missing for us was a children's play area, having said that, our children were happy playing around our van, and we were out most of the day on the beach.
Had a little look at the new lodges being built, they looked fantastic. Tempted to ditch the caravan and book one for next time.

We stayed at this lovely quiet site for just under a week. The site seemed mainly to be occupied by seasonal caravan pitches. As we arrived on a Sunday evening, the week was quiet for us. We were only one of two visitors without a caravan in our trailer-tent. We were made very welcome immediately and felt at home. The site was clean & tidy, plenty of hot water was available in the very clean showers & toilet blocks. They have a clever swipe card to activate the barrier entering & leaving the site. Sadly our break was interrupted by a family illness, but the operators at the site were extremely helpful with our problems. They looked after our pitch while we returned home for a couple of days. We can't thank them enough.
The area around Whitby is beautiful, lovely countryside over the moors and in the lovely Esk Dale. Whitby itself is a quaint and interesting harbour town.
The only thing we will do next visit is to take midge repellent!
We will be back, and we will return to this site.

Visited LadyCross at Easter 2013, we planned to stay for 5 nights however my husband had an accident which meant he couldn't drive. The owners and wardens were extremely helpful and flexible, enabling us to leave the van until we decided what we would do, helping us with siting and moving the van. We arranged to site the van for a month, the wardens set the van up for us and all we had to do was plug in.
We had several very relaxing trips and discovered the wifi on the last trip which was very helpful as our 3g couldn't get a signal. The site is set in beautiful woodland which makes for relaxing walking and safe play for children.
The facilities are excellent and clean. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. It was an excellent experience for us and I would consider siting the van there for long spells again. The barrier entrance makes the site feel very secure. Siting the van gave excellent value for money as well.

Just returned from a 6 night break from ladycross plantation. Facilities on this site are very good toilet and shower block spotless couldn't fault them. There is no children play area but there's plenty of room for children to play. The site is close to whitby and other surrounding area to visit. Very helpful staff in reception area wardens very friendly show you to your pitch in fact most people on site were very friendly. If you want a very peaceful and relaxing time then this site is for you would we return cant wait.

Spent a wonderful week here and just loved it, the wardens were amongst the most friendly and helpful I've come across (even reversed my unit onto it's pitch when I made a hash of it) the site itself is very quiet, set amongst a woodland, where we walked our dog and although he had to be kept on his lead, he was in his element.
The site is isolated from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, (great for chilling out)the toilets are first class and cleaned regularly, and although there are no facilities for children, the ones that were there made their own entertainment.
The shop sold basic foodstuffs only but that is not a problem as there is a Lidl within three miles.
It's ideally placed to tour the wondrous area of the North York's moors, it's three miles to Grosmont, with it's steam trains and sheds and close to Goathland where the series of Heartbeat was filmed.
So all in in all, I can really recommend this site to anyone that enjoys touring the area.
Whitby is a very busy place with parking difficulties, but worth visiting, we parked on the Abbey site and walked down to the town

Our second trip to Ladycross was as pleasant as the first (some 4 years ago).
Lovely clean site, welcoming staff and nicely sized pitches. Possibly the cleanest camp-site toilets I've ever used. There seemed to be electric hookups aplenty (though we didn't use one).
The kids, dog and wife all had a great time and we will definitely be back. The site is really well maintained and pleasant to walk around.
Perfect as a spot to relax for the weekend or as a base to explore Whitby, Grosmont etc.
I'd love to see a play area which would raise my feedback for Child Friendliness to a 9.

We stayed from Thursday to Sunday and it did not rain which was a first for us whilst caravanning this year. Check in was quick and efficient and all staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay.
The site reminds me of French sites, being situated in a pine wood and was a little unkempt.
Our pitch was a hard standing which consisted of very large uneven stones, which had weeds pushing through. The grass pitches were quite large with the grass being cut short. There are two similar toilet blocks which are kept clean and tidy at all times. There are excellent dog walks in the surrounding woods.
My main criticism is that although it is not adult only there are no facilities at all for children and there are signs saying 'no ball games' (what do the owners expect kids to do).
You also need your car as the site is quite isolated.
Egton has two very nice pubs but the village is not really within walking distance as the road is quite busy and has no footpaths or lighting at night.

Stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of August 2012.
Very quiet and peaceful site, we were allocated pitch 65, which is a grass pitch and was fine, except that we were unable to get any TV reception (Satelite Dish) due to the surrounding trees!
We asked if we could move onto the neighbouring pitch(64)which was a little more open. The reception staff were very helpful and allowed us to move, and we were able to tune our TV without any further problems!
The clean water, and dirty water disposal points were conveniently placed for easy access. The shower/toilet blocks are kept very clean.
The site is conveniently placed for trips to Whitby & Scarborough, we also visited Pickering, Goathland (Aidensfield - Heartbeat)& spent a lovely morning in a rowing boat on the River Esk hired from 'Ruswarp' a small village about 15 minutes drive away.
There are a couple of pub/restaurants a few minutes drive away, we enjoyed a very nice meal at The Old Horseshoe.
