First time out with our caravan, we found the site facilities very clean and the staff friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. With it being our first time we were a little unsure about putting the awning up, but the site staff came and gave us some good advice, and we then managed it, no problem! An additional shower block would've been nice, but it looks like they're already halfway through building one, due to footings in place and roof trusses and bricks already on site. Kids loved playing in the pine forest, but maybe for the future a small play area would be nice too? Lovely dog walking area. Would come back again.

Friendly greeting and nice site. Nicely treed and decent sized pitches. Showers and facilities clean, hot, and pleasant. We use it to visit Whitby as sites nearer to Whitby are normally full when we go and those we have stayed at don't compare. We were able to park our vw camper w/awning and a 4-man tent and for 2 adults and 2 kids it totalled to £17.50 for the night-now that's value! Another nice bit is taxis come out to get you pretty quickly and are about £8 to Whitby.

Very handy location just outside Whitby, which gives easy access to both the moors and coast. We received a very warm welcome from the site staff. The site was very boggy because of heavy rain, and even snow the week before! The staff sited our van for us next to a hard standing on which we pitched the awning. The site has a good toilet block with simple laundry and washing up facilities. Being located in the pine wood meant the soil is very peaty and poorly drained. This resulted in very boggy conditions which somewhat restricted the kids activities. Many of the regulars even had duck boards under their vans, but I guess this improves in summer months. That said I would recommend this site and would happily visit again if staying in the area.

August 2004 A brilliant site - particularly for motorhomes. There is space, seclusion, excellent services and facilities. The nearby village of Egton hosts one of the best pubs I have known for eating out. The local scenery is superb and several 'Dales' walks are within minutes of the site. A sleepy site for quiet campers!

last visit Oct. 2003 We have been visiting Ladycross since 1991; it is a lovely site a few miles out of Whitby. Set in a pine forest with choice of pitches either under trees or a bit more in the open. Definitely one for those who want to 'get away from it all'(ie no kiddies playpark, no clubhouse etc).... just peace and quiet. There is a dogwalk on site which takes you and 'Rover' on a nice stroll through the trees.
Facilities are always excellent, well-maintained and regularly cleaned. Wardens have changed over the years but all seem as keen as each other. There is no security barrier but we have never experienced any trouble. Seasonal pitches are available for a reasonable price. All in all we rate Ladycross an 8 out of 10. Thankyou for reading my review.......
