What a fabulous site, great clean facilities, well kept pitches, a good basic shop, very friendly owners, reasonably priced and the most spectacular views across Cardigan Bay.
The week we were there was busy with a mixture of statics, touring caravans / campervans and tents on the site, but the pitches are big enough to give you all the space you need and then some! Customers were mainly families (as were we), our kids had a wonderful after dinner run around game of Sardines each night and many games of rounders and french cricket with the other kids on the site, also pretty good with the noise which usually tailed off around 10ish at the latest.
This was our second time at Blaenwaun and wont be the last.

Lovely setting with cracking views over the bay with stunning sunsets. Close to a super, little, family friendly beach that can be approached to by a lovely walk through country fields.
Excellent playground, well drained sites, well stocked farm shop, very friendly and helpful owners. It can get a bit windy so take a wind break or two! 10 o'clock noise curfew was in place and it worked. Good news with two small children!
Facilities are modern with plenty of hot water. Kettle, toaster and microwave were very welcome along with free freezing of freezer packs. Out of season this site is a must. However limited number of toilets, showers and sinks meant queuing in peak season and they did get dirty quickly.
The setting out of pitches also meant that you felt rather like a 'sardines in a tin'. Tents are back to back and side to side, meaning you literally hear every grunt, groan, snore and everything else of your fellow campers. This could easily be rectified with a little more tweaking of the barriers between tents. Sort this out, and we'd be back.

Found the site on this web site, so booked a couple nights camping to try our new tent.
The beautiful thing about this campsite is its isolation, stunning coastal walks and scenery. Beach is 15 Min's walk away.
Can I remind fellow campers that this site is on narrow blind lanes with lots of Walkers, Cyclists and farm tractors and to keep your speed down ! (Respect the countryside for everyone)
Mobile phone did not get signal on the 3 network cant comment on others, but walked to the top of the site and I picked up low signal. We found this ideal !
We had a lovely welcome by the owners and was shown to a pitch. The grass was cut short,no litter etc.
Plenty of fresh air and lots of room for kids to run about small area with kids playground looks fun but we are to old.
We had heavy rain over night high winds the site was fairly level and still dry under foot the other campers said they put drainage in after summer 2008.
The shower blocks were immaculately clean. Plenty of hot water, 2 showers in the men's, the site was busy but this was not a problem.
Little shop on site selling basics fresh meat and a Newspaper for the morning.
We are planning our trip back in September.

Just returned from this great campsite run by a lovely family.
We're a family of four ourselves with two young children (5 and 7) and wanted a quiet, safe environment to use as a base for kayaking, riding, fishing and cooking good food. In these respects we were super happy - brilliant site, clean, safe, very well maintained and managed, super clean toilets /showers/ laundry etc - fabulous.
Several evenings - even though the site was not busy at all during the week I saw the camp owners turning away several groups of young people.
The only caveat is that the location is at the top of a hill, from which you benefit from stunning views out to sea and glorious sunsets - as well as any and all of the weather.
Our weather was apocalyptic. Two tents blew flat and one vanished. Our canvas bell tent took the battering much to our surprise and relief, very well and the family running the site were on hand to provide any help (putting two families up overnight in their site caravans).
A note for other tenters - the site drained very well indeed (benefiting from a new drainage system) even after biblical rain
The ground was never water logged.
One last thing, we had our best ever farm-raised produce here. If you like to cook or just eat then this site is worth a trip for the steak alone.

This was our first camping trip. We camped for six nights in a tent with electric hook up. The site was found with relative ease down narrow lanes which were sign posted ''Mwnt''.
We were welcomed by friendly and helpful owners and the grounds of the site were well kept. The playground was more than adequate for our two year old and was ideally situated being quite centrally positioned.
The shop was well stocked with all kinds of goods/necessities and was open between 9-11am and 5-8pm. The home produced sausages/bacon is well worth trying. You could freeze ice packs at no charge in the shop.
The view from the site is something else and weather permitting you are only a shortish drive away from the wonderful beaches of Mwnt, Llangrannog and Tresaith.
There was plenty of free hot water in the toilet/shower blocks and generally kept clean. The only constructive criticism I can give is that the site would benefit from having a family shower room.
Overall I found it to be a family friendly site in a great location for coastal walks or visits to the various beaches. 10/10 and although we didn't have the best of weathers I would return again in the future.

A very enjoyable 5 days - one of the ones we we will definitely return too. Extraordinarily beautiful sunsets, the beach 15 minutes walking along quiet lanes (2 routes). Level, grassed site with hard road approach to the generously laid out pitches. Toilets and showers always hot and immaculate. The nearest pub is 3 miles away but if you have cooking facilities you will not go away from the home produced meat - just taste the sausages - available in the shop. Opening times of which are 9-11 am & 5-8 pm, essentials only but what ever you ask for the owner will happily oblige - newspapers anything.
When the wind gets up it really is there but this is part of the beauty of this place, when the weather is good we've never seen anything like it.
One last thing to mention is the fact my MH went into limp home mode on the way down to Wales - I ordered the part from Sussex to the family home of the owner (with their permission) and I was offered every assistance from tools to fitting!
I could and will bang on about how good these people are but succinctly if you want a family run site that genuinely cares don't look any further.

This is a fantastic site. We went as a group. Two sets in a caravan, two sets in a tent and my parents in one of the statics.
OK so it was really windy and rainy for the first couple of days but the site drained well. The last couple of days glorious sunshine and could see out to sea. Perfect.
Facilities excellent, even down to the toaster and microwave for use by all in the laundry. Toilet block great - clean, free and hot showers.
Shop was well stocked and sensible prices.
Kids loved the play area.
Can't wait to go back - even converted my mum and dad to the use of static caravans!

Well what can I say, this is such a fantastic camp site.
The family that run it are the most pleasant and helpful you could ever wish to meet.
Its a lovely site, what more can you ask for when you wake up and are overlooking the sea,the nearest beach is beautiful and only a stones throw away by car, and safe for children.
It was a bit muddy, only by the entrance I hasten to add, the area for the tents was fine, but hey thats camping and it was one of the wettest summers we have had for a long time, you have to be prepared when living outdoors for all weather types.
This is a well laid out camp site, there are static caravans around the outside , and tents in the middle, the tourers have their own marked out pitches with electric hook ups. Also on site is a childrens play area, situated in the centre of the park, so you can keep an eye on the children at all times.
There is a shop on site , which stocks pretty much everything you are likely to need whilst there, and it stays open till at least 8 o clock at night.
Ice packs are free to freeze , and laundry and washing facilities are all available if needed.
The toilets and showers are free and you can shower 24 hours a day, they are cleaned regularly.
The surrounding area is lovely, no litter no graffiti.
Cardigan is the nearest town and has excellent dining out facilities, as well as a lovely selection of shops.
We had a fab holiday at this site and will definitely visit again soon, there is plenty to do in and around the surrounding area.
10 out of 10 to the family for a well run site. Brilliant

We have just returned from this site and all I can say was that it was fantastic! Wonderful area to stay in with the beautiful mwnt beach nearby. Well worth a visit with a little shop selling drinks, ice cream etc on the way down to the beach. The children loved playing on the beach even though it was raining!
The site is run by the most wonderful family who are always willing to help you out any time of day - especially with the tractor to pull the cars out of the mud , it really was bad weather that week, wind and rain, but the farmer even gave our car a wash down with the hose pipe before we left, where else would you get that kind of service! We were told that they are going to lay down some sort of track on the field this winter so that there wont be any problem with driving around the field next year.
The shop was well stocked with essentials and the showers and toilets were clean and tidy. There were washing machines, tumble dryers, sinks to wash your dishes, vending machine, kettle, ironing board and iron and a tea and coffee machine as well.
The children loved feeding the ducks and seeing the pigs and the play area was a very good .
I strongly recommend this site and will be returning there again next year , just try and stop us!

This site is in a beautiful position with lovely views overlooking the sea. The shower blocks are clean and modern (but only 3 showers in the ladies which may be a problem when site is very busy) with the addition of a disabled / family shower room with a baby bath which was great for our little one who refused to have a shower! The shop was useful for basics and the laundry / dishwashing room well laid-out with the useful addition of a toaster, kettle, microwave and vending machine. We ventured down the bridle path to the coast and while it's not a 5 minute easy walk (more like 20 minutes) we did manage it with a 5 year old - it does go through a couple of farms and is a little overgrown in places but well worth the effort as the beach at Mwnt is perfect for families.
As everyone has said, however, this is a very windy site. We were very unlucky with the weather and had several sleepless nights listening to the wind and rain lashing at our tent and hoping it wouldn't fly away. For that reason we probably wouldn't visit this site again in a tent (but the mobile homes looked lovely), and we would go back to the area.
