This was our second visit to the site, and our first since the new owners (Martin and Ginny) took up the reins. They have made a great start, and already began to make their mark with the addition of a large field which has been cleared to make somewhere for the kids to play ball games; small shop; and a new fridge.
The shower block is fairly small as some have commented but even so we hardly ever had to queue - worse we experienced was to wait 5mins and return to the shower block, at which point all cubicles were empty. Seemed to be plenty of hot water regardless of the time of day, and always very clean.
There are 2 washing up sinks, washing liquid supplied, again no problems with queues. Sinks are under a covered area, nicely sheltered, and frequented by a friendly robin looking for scraps.
We were in the Swordfish field which was quiet and sheltered on all sides by high hedges. The whole site is on a gentle slope, which results in a large puddle around the site office during prolonged rain showers. With a little planning it is possible to position the tent fairly level, some pitches have more camber than others.
The site is great for exploring both the north and south coast of Cornwall. Our favourite beaches were Porthtowan, Portreath and Chapelporth. All had areas to explore, with loads to keep kids interested.
When you visit Perranporth visit Chapmans butchers for the best pasties. There is a great chippie close by in St Agnes - Fission Chip Shop. If you fancy some posh fish and chips visit Lewsey Lou’s in St Agnes.
Thanks to Martin and Ginny for a great holiday. If you want a quiet site this is the place for you.

We had a wonderful few days at Blue Hills after arriving up from Falmouth and have to say that it’s a lovely little site, perfectly located for coastal walks and visiting (by car) other parts of Cornwall.
The facilities are good, we loved having our own fridge box to keep everything cool and not having to worry about ice packs and the availability of power sockets for hair drying/phone charging is always an essential requirement for me. Some reviewers have mentioned that there are only 3 showers however in peak season neither I nor my husband had to queue for showers or toilets and only occasionally did we experience any congestion around the washing up area. There is an additional sink in the utility room. Other reviewers have also mentioned that the toilet block is basic, well yes maybe it is but for the price we paid we thought it was perfectly adequate.
The dog walking/games field has lovely views over the valley and the neighbouring airfield (just off the coastal path) provides a bit of interest with low flying light aircraft passing overhead.
One thing we loved about the site was the size of the pitches and the feeling of space, there's nothing worse than an over crowded site for spoiling your holiday. Ginny and Martin were great hosts and went out of their way to find out information for us and were always on hand if we needed them.
It’s a 350 mile journey for us to this site but we will most definitely be back and would totally recommend it to anyone seeking a quiet, chilled out site off the beaten track yet close to some great coastal walks and interesting little coves and ideally placed for Perranporth and its beautiful beach.

This site is heaven. Owners are super friendly, helpful and informative. The site is kept tip top. It is quiet and is a perfect location for exploring St Agnes and Perranporth by foot. There are some great walks down to to the beach which have stunning views. After spending 10 days here we really didn't want to leave.
The prices do not break the bank and in my view a tadge cheaper than other sites which are not as good ( but don't tell Gini & Martin )lol.
If visiting Cornwall don't miss out this site. This site is perfect for short stays but better for using as a base to discover all that Cornwall has to offer. This site is also great for sitting outside your van on a hot sunny day. It is sheltered on all sides and gets long sunny hours.
A little work on some loose floor tiles in the gents shower was the only fault we could find. Fresh flowers and the local radio station playing in the toilet blocks just goes to show that the owners pay every attention to every detail to make your stay just simply the best.
It don't come more perfect than this site.
We will definitely be returning.

For us the location of the site is great, nestled between St Agnes and Perranporth, the approach to the site is a little narrow but nothing you haven't dealt with in Cornwall before. (Read directions on their website to avoid entering the wrong way if you have a tourer or motorhome)
The owners keep the site well maintained and one or the other is usually around on site, they are friendly and approachable.
The pitches are well spaced and we loved the trees & picnic benches between vans, a nice little touch.
We were lucky to have nice weather and it was pleasurable sitting outside our caravans with friends. The only noise was the occasional light aircraft dropping off parachutes!
The set up equally welcomes tents as well as tourers and motorhomes.
There is a small shop on site selling basics, so if you fancied a day chilling without venturing 5 mins by car into St Agnes Town you could survive :)
The toilets and showers, although basic were always clean and tidy! The only thing I could possibly bring up is that having only 3 toilets and showers each (Ladies & Mens). During peak times could lead to a bit of a queue.
The fee is reasonable for what you get here, we have and paid more and got far less!
The surroundings are stunning at Blue Hills, a walkers paradise. If your using the car the roads can be a bit tricky especially close by the site, so take time to check this out.
All in all, for us a great 9 night stay here, perfect location, good facilities :)

Just back from a great weekend break at Blue Hills Camp site St Agnes. Very impressed by new owners hospitality and welcome from the moment of booking through to us leaving - nothing was too much trouble. Owners even allowed us to stay on pitch till afternoon at nil extra charge as the site was fairly quiet. We liked owners touch of their personal meet and greet and checking you are happy with allocated pitch. As previous reviewers state you are equipped with washing up liquid, scourers, bowls and drainers are provided free for campers to use. Add in music in toilet/shower facilities. The campsite suited out personal needs allowing us to try out our new tent and chill out and relax. Pitch sizes were adequate, facilities were somewhat basic and aged but all were very clean and hygienic. The grass and approach roads were regularly attended to and cared for. I particularly liked them having the chemical waste facility in a separate gated field was thoughtful here, having been to some other campsites where the chemical waste area is almost on top of campers. My one thought of caution would be to those looking to book in High Season - there appeared to be a lot of pitches at the site yet had only 3 shower cubicles per sex and only 2 washing up sinks. All in all a good value for money site near to the many attractions offered by nearby Perranporth, St Agnes and nearby Newquay. I recommend this site to campers of all ages who seek peace and quiet and a base to visit the West Cornwall coastline - be it a 1 nights stay or 2 weeks. I will be back again and have no hesitation in recommending now to family and friends.

This site is under new ownership since March this year. We got a warm welcome and were able to pick our pitch ourselves. The site was not quite level but one chock and it was sorted. Site was close to small airfield with small planes moving at the weekend along with skydivers!
Forgot to bring the aerial lead and the owners lent us one, very kind of them. They seem to be working hard to pretty up the site, lots of flowers being planted, grass was cut and trimmed. Waste water and toilet disposal site was nicely located with easy access. The showers and toilets were clean and plans were afoot to pretty them up. Water in the shower was hot. Washer and dryer in separate laundry room. Dish washing sinks with hot water and washing up liquid with a roof over it. Separate tank to wash your sandy wet suit in. There was a fridge should you need it, with plastic boxes to put your stuff in so no getting mixed up! Prices were reasonable, no extra charge for dog or small awning. You could walk out of the campsite and immediately join a footpath leading to the coastal path, and a short walk took you to a beach. You could have tramped over the hills to St. Agnes to go to the shops but would be hard work carrying groceries. St. Agnes has Fish and Chips, Chinese and an Indian takeaway delivers!
Although we were there for 5 days we had a good time.

We have just arrived back from Blue Hills and we had a great weekend. Thank you for such a warm welcome. If your looking for a well looked after site with friendly host's then don't look any further. Ok it's not got up to date facility's like some sites but it's clean and tidy. What's more important to us is the warm welcome and stunning location. We will be back very soon.

I've just returned from a weekend trip to this site and wasn't disappointed. It is a tidy little site in a good location being a very short walk to the South West Coast Path. Both Perranporth and St Agnes are in easy walking distance though you probably wouldn't want to lug your messages over the cliffs so stock up before you arrive.
My pitch was perfectly lovely, flat and sheltered by gorse bushes. There was evidence of planting between pitches and this should afford both privacy and shelter once the bushes mature. The grass was very short and the ground well drained and I would have used the picnic benches had the weather been a bit warmer. There was one stand pipe with a short piece of hose attached. If I'd been staying longer than a weekend I would have liked to fill up my water tank but don't think I could manage this with the current arrangement.
The wardens were relaxed and friendly and, being low season, there was no pressure to leave the site on my final morning allowing me a leisurely breakfast and a great walk to Perranporh and back.
The toilets and showers were fine. Clean with plenty of hot water and nice touches like soap, the radio playing and lovely scented daffs in a vase. There were two sinks in the wash up/veg prep area. Washing up liquid and dish cloths were provided though I think the area would benefit from a work top at both sinks to pile the dirty dishes on prior to washing and draining.
Although I didn't use it, the Utility room had a good washing machine and drier and plenty of fridge / freezer space. The site offers wi-fi on the Club Wi-Fi scheme. I didn't use it but was parked as far as I could be from Reception and still got a signal.
All in all a nice simple site at a good price. I'll be back.

This is my new favourite campsite in Cornwall, the people running it are really friendly and always willing to offer suggestions and helpful advice about where to visit and what to see. It is a small and friendly site which I much prefer to the larger sites.
The toilets and facilities are clean and well maintained. The little extras including free showers, soap and pretty flowers make it feel welcoming. The freezers for our cool packs, along with the use of the fridges was so helpful.
The pitches were perfect for our tent and I will certainly be going back again.
St Agnes is a beautiful little village with great places to eat and a lovely beach. We found the campsite is within a short drive of many wonderful places to visit so was a great base for us.

Although we enjoyed our time at Blue Hills, I don't think we will be returning. The site was rather full (high season, so can reasonably expect this!) and pitches were not overly generous.
Toilets and showers were clean but rather dated and the fridges and freezers were in need of a good clean and repair as the shelves collapsed whilst we were using them and despite informing the warden nothing was done.
The area behind the office/reception also needed work doing to it as it resembled a dumping ground with old vehicles and what looked like a catering van just lying in ruin.
We generally feel that this site needs a little TLC as the photos on the website don not really accurately reflect what we experienced.
However, the location is ideal and Perranporth Beach and Chapel Porth are lovely beaches for all the family!
Plenty of grassy areas for children to play and we were permitted to park on a nearby patch of grass(although EVERYONE else in our field had their cars by their pitches which peeved us a tad. )
All in all potential is there for this to be a lovely site with just a little more attention.
