Great little site, very nice owners who were always willing to help and explain the running of the farm.

Bellingham has a Cooperative shop, lovely Bakers with 3 pubs, we used the Cheviot a couple of times and the locals were friendly with fine real ales. You can use the Riverdale Hotels small pool, it's a short walk away £4 Adults £2 for kids.

You empty the waste into the main sewer (no Elsan)

And it is 50p for 6mins in the shower.

Well worth a visit, we will be calling there again.

A very enjoyable if rather wet weekend. Bellingham is a lovely friendly place to spend a weekend. Site owners very friendly and advised us to go to the Cheviot hotel. A very warm welcome from bar staff and locals plus a range of cracking real ales and scrumpy. We tried the restaurant out on Saturday and would recommend the fish and chips as they were delicious. Site was clean and less than 200m to village centre

We will definitely be back

When I first arrived on this site I thought no way am I going to enjoy this, how wrong was I, as soon as I got used to the smell of the farm animals I loved it. Nice and quiet and peaceful. Wasn't too struck on the toilets/showers but you get what you pay for. The local pubs are average but are dog friendly and a hop and a skip from the site. Hope the owners improve the toilets & showers in the future to make it a first class site.

This is my new favourite campsite. We stayed there this weekend and it was ace. Yes it's small, yes the toilets / shower / washup area are small and yes it is just 2 fields, but quite frankly that's just how it should be. We and 3 other families went for 2 nights and we loved it. 2 minutes walk into the village. Super little supermarket and local bakery. The walk to the waterfall really is a must.

The farmer was really helpful - he didn't get around to collecting our money until 24 hours after we had arrived.

We used the electricity and paid £17 per night for a family of 4.

If you're looking to get away for the weekend, park the car up and relax then head to Bellingham.

(but don't forget the midgy spray!)

This is the second time we have stayed on this site and another enjoyable experience it was. The site itself is a working farm so expect a few animals making the odd noise. Can get a bit waterlogged if it rains but not a real issue. Farmer and family very friendly and helpful. £18 per night which is a tad dear as you pay 50p for your shower so these are not included. The location is spot on, just behind the high street with some cracking little doggy friendly pubs. Do have a meal in the Cheviot hotel (spot on) and do have a walk up the little steam opposite the main gate up to the waterfall. Spot on

Great base for visits to Northumberland and in particular Kielder forest and water. Central to the village but very quiet away from the road, on a working farm so the only noise was from the cattle. 3 pubs within a couple of minutes walk offering a god range of food and drink, local amenities included 2 banks one with cashpoint, co-op, post office, butchers, greengrocers, cafe, bicycle shop, local garage/petrol station, and the most expensive Chinese take away I have ever been to along with a couple of other local shops.

The campsite itself was basic but clean and tidy. The toilet blocks were kept clean and stocked with toilet paper and soap. The ladies had 2 toilets and 1 shower operated with 50p for 6 minutes which was more than enough for 2 really. I did not have to queue but the site was quiet and I did get up very early, really need more than 1 shower and there is ample space for at least one more. The mens had 2 showers. I really think that 50p for a shower is excessive after paying £18 for a pitch and electric, I would much rather they put the site fees up by £1 and give 'free' showers, its a principle thing! Always hot water for the wash up sinks. Also 2 sockets in the block for a hairdryer etc.

No play area but lots of space for the kids to run around and the animals are there also for them to interact with.

The owners could not have been more helpful, even giving us an extension lead for our electric hookup and letting us keep our tent up till 4pm on the Sunday to let us go and visit Kielder without rushing to get the tent down. We would definitely return to this campsite.

Stayed for Thurs night, and site fairly quiet (apparently it does get busy in summer at the w/e). Great location, 2 mins walk from village with shop and pubs. Facilities were fine - fairly basic but clean and not busy due to the site being fairly quiet. Nice to see farm animals and it being a working farm.

A fair few midges about it being summer (although I've had worse. Went for a walk up to waterfall next day (gorgeous walk, well worth doing). Only stayed one night, 1 adult, 3 teenagers in tent without elec - can't remember exactly what we paid but think £20, which I thought was fine. Farmer very friendly and laid back. Nice night away.

Would be happy to come back for a night or two, and use as a base for walking etc.

Stayed with friends, also in tents, in this pleasant site adjacent to the village's main street.

The campsite is sited very well, both in terms of being 3 mins walk from pubs and shops yet with views from one's tent door of rolling countryside, and in terms of access to local beauty spots such as Kielder, Hadrian's Wall and several national Trust Properties (we went to Wallington Hall).

The site itself is basically a large field on a working farm and makes little pretence to be anything else. Perhaps a third of the field is given over to EHU, the rest is for non-electric tourers.

Arrivals are directed by a sign to the nearby farmhouse where we were then shown to our sites by the very friendly farmer. Pitches are marked and well-sized for EHU: otherwise there seems to be plenty of freedom to pitch where one wishes.

Facilities are limited: The 'ladies' consists of a lavatory, a shower and a washing-up area while the men fare slightly better with two lavatories, two showers and a urinal trough in addition to their own washing-up area. The facilities are not modern but were kept clean, although soap dispensers never worked during our visit. Showers cost 50p for an advertised 6 mins, but I found that the first two minutes were spent adjusting flow and temperature. We men managed well enough but the ladies found a distinct lack of capacity.

Prices were very fair at £18 per night with EHU.

The camping field is a mix of flat and sloping pitches, though EHU pitched were all nicely flat. Most non-EHU campers were travelling light - walkers and cyclists, and one Duke of Edinburgh Award party while we were there.

At the end of the lane is Bellingham's main street, with pleasant shops and three pubs. We used the nearest, the Cheviot Hotel, which had an excellent range of ales and a very good restaurant/bar menu (which one can order to take out).

While we were there we watched from our tent as the farmer and his sheep dogs herded sheep from the adjacent meadow for shearing. Brilliant.

We all had a good experience and would return.

A lovely site nestled in the locked village of Bellingham. The field for tents is big and fairly flat, the facilities are the site are clean and tidy and 50p for a clean hot shower is no problem. The site is part of a working farm and it is interesting to see all of the work going on. There are a few pubs in the village but only 1 takeaway, there's a coop too. This is a good site as a starting point to visit the area or if you are walking a route, but there isn't really much to do in the village other than pubs.

We booked last minute for 3 nights when our original site in Slaley cancelled on us due to being under water (this was the day of the worst floods in the area for 101 years). We found Demesne Farm on this website @ 13. 00 & when we rang were told the site was perfectly fine. We arrived from Leeds at 17. 00 after driving through 3' deep flash floods, the first one being approx 20 miles from the site. We actually took notes of B & B's on the approach to Bellingham as we never expected to be able to pitch up. When we arrived in the village & saw sand bags out we feared the worst, but, the site was extremely well drained, in fact it was no worse than any other site after a normal fall of rain! To say we were astonished is an understatement.

The toilet/shower block were lovely & clean & the water nice & hot. The path leading to the block is cobbled/hardcore so no muddy shoes. Again, no complaints here. Demesne is a working farm & we watched the sheep being rounded up & brought in for shearing which was an added bonus.

Bellingham village centre is less than a 5 minute walk away & has 2 banks, a chemist, Chinese takeaway, Co-op which opens 08. 00 - 22. 00, a bakery, butchers etc & out of the 3 pubs in the village we preferred the Cheviot Hotel with a good range of traditional ales, great food & a friendly bunch of locals who made us feel really welcome.

We might never have found this site if it hadn't been for the extreme rain so for once we are grateful to the Great British weather & can't wait to return, thanks very much to the lovely, helpful owners :)
