Really nice site very friendly helpful wardens, when we arrived we realised that the caravanning and camping website is a nightmare and therefore they hadn't realised that we needed awnings, they quickly sorted us out as there was 4 units in our party. They then went that extra which is always appreciated and sorted out our future bookings with the club. The toilet and shower blocks were spotless and warm.
The children (8 in total) were welcomed and never made to feel they were a nuisance as they ran back and forth to the park and fields, which always makes the adults feel more relaxed!
We enjoyed our walks in the surrounding area. The nearest pub was a little 'stuck up' as they didn't look impressed when we all turned up soaking wet as the heavens opened half way there, so we retreated and enjoyed a beer back in our awnings!
There was little in the way of items stocked in the reception which didn't matter to us as we were only there 2 nights but if needed shops are a 5/10 min drive away.

First outing in our new campervan. We were warmly welcomed and personally escorted to our pitch; all amenities along the way helpfully pointed out. Showers and toilets were spotless and the quality of the showers were excellent! Good walking from the site - we explored nearby Tittesworth Reservoir and part of the Staffordshire Moorland Walk. We were hoping to walk up to the local pub as it is only a 10 minute walk away, but sadly circumstances prevented this. We will certainly return to this campsite later in the year.

First time on a campsite for about 40+years. When we arrived at the site, the staff were excellent showed us to the pitch and gave advice on all aspects of connecting the motorhome etc. The two toilet blocks were very clean and the showers had a plentiful supply of hot water. The reception area has plenty of information regarding the local area and also takeaway menus for the curry houses in Leek who deliver to your pitch. Excellent week-end to get used to everything in the motorhome, due to the weather being horrendous.

As experienced campsite wardens/rangers ourselves we cannot help but be over observational trying to find fault with sites we visit.
Not so here, although the weather was horrible we thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day holiday, the facilities buildings were immaculate, the staff were friendly and helpful to the point of loaning us a hook up lead to extend ours as due to the soggy conditions we had to pitch up further away from the hook up point than our lead would reach.
One tip though, if you want to use the site Wi-Fi and pitch up a fair distance away from the reception building, try before you buy as we had no reception and had to sit in the car checking e-mails by the reception.
The site is an excellent base for exploring the Staffordshire Moorlands and The Peak District. Tittesworth reservoir is a 20 minute walk behind the site and a must have is a jam & cream scone yummy!

Fantastic site run by extremely helpful and cheerful wardens. Lovely welcome from a short-notice booking and check-in. Gerry was most helpful showing to a choice of pitches and helping push our van on to the pitch, as my reversing skills aren't quite honed yet.
Slight slope on hardstandings (!?) but easily corrected.
Noticed no road noise whatsoever - rabbits and lots of bird life enhancing the country feel. Close for the peak Buxton and fabulous Roaches.
Good pint in the Three Horseshoes, after a nice walk from the site, but didn't eat there as looked expensive. The Lazy Trout at Merebrook serves a limited but quality menu at good prices, just down the road from the Three Horseshoes, their 'real' chips are to die for. Great pub to visit after hiking round Tittesworth. Nice friendly welcome from the staff at the 'Trout' nothing was too much trouble.
Will visit again to go walking in Edale as the atrocious weather on the Sunday stopped our plans to walk on Kinder but didn't detract from the enjoyment of the site.
Spotlessly clean toilets, fresh flowers, gret information centre. The chip van that visits on a Friday eve looked *very* busy.
All good stuff

After being terrified at the prospect of towing a caravan for the first time in my life, I needn't have worried! As we only live in the next town it was an easy drive although it involved a HUGE hill just before we arrived at the site, but my nerves were easily settled by the staff here. They really couldn't do more to make our stay more comfortable. Always on hand if we needed them but discreet enough to make our stay relaxed.
The showers were free, hot and spotless and although the site was full I didn't meet another soul in there the whole weekend.
We took our dog and the 'Dog walk' was a great bonus to his stay. Albeit just a small fenced off area with a poo bin, but he made friends with some of the other dogs on the site, and with him being a bouncy 12 month old labrador being able to tear around for a short while made being tethered up more bearable whilst on site. A great idea when there isn't a lot of space on this fairly small site.
I noticed that some of the pitches were sloping and folk had used blocks or ramps to balance out their vans and motorhomes, we were fine on our pitch though. The ground was soft, not muddy and I didn't struggle with stones etc. We'd had fabulous weather leading up to and during our stay.
I'd definitely visit again as we're now members and it only being a half hours drive away and plenty of things to do nearby to occupy a few days with children. Talking of which, my boys would have been happier if they could play with a ball (football/cricket etc) in an area away from the pitches but this isn't allowed and space was at a premium here. Good old hide and seek was played instead.
Thank you for a lovely weekend break away.

Just got home from a few days at this site and have no criticisms at all. Wardens very helpful and friendly, pitches all marked and of a good size,
Toilet and showers were free and of a high standard, some road noise but not enough to cause us any issues,
Slightly sloping pitches but not a problem, all in all great value for money even better if you are club members.
We will certainly go back there if we are in the area and recommend it to other campers.

We found the site easy to find although we did print the directions from website. The site is relatively small which for us is nice. Pitches are quite small and ground very hard, although the grass in between pitches was very soft which is expected in march.
The 'dog walk' is not a walk more a toilet break! but as the warden said we were in the peak district so there are places to walk everywhere. Loads of lovely clean warm toilets unfortunately only 2 showers - no problem at this time of year but wouldn't like to try in the summer.
Went for a walk around the nearby resevoir - fab really nice walk and good paths. The pub near the entrance to the reservoir is highly recommended - dogs and muddy boots ok. The one at the top of the road is also nice but no dogs or muddy boots! Don't think we'll go back but just because we like to see different places

Our family-2 adults,2 children and 2 dogs-have just returned from this Caravan & Camping Club Site.
The Wardens were friendly, the toilet and shower facilities were well maintained and clean, despite the rain and mud. Toilets and showers were in separate areas. Tiny dog walk on site.
Site is poorly signposted-watch you don't go straight past the site! We chose this site as it was the only one open in the area at this time of year.
We had a day at Alton Towers Waterpark. Ideal for younger children--get there early as it gets very busy, buy tickets online beforehand. Only 20 minutes drive from the Campsite.
We also had a day at Tittesworth Resevoir, only a 10 minute drive from the site. A lovely day out for the family if it is dry weather--excellent Adventure play area, clean toilets, lots of parking-pay and display, Visitor Centre, walks around the lake--4.5 miles long, took us 1 hour 45 minutes at a leisurely pace, also short walks in the woods, friendly ducks to feed. See Tittesworth Resevoir website.
A good site for us for a weekend break. Plenty of other things to do in the area for another time!

Hubby and I took our two youngest grandchildren (4&8) for the October half term break, unluckily for us the weather was not very complimentary, the ground was very uneven and we thought that we were camping in a paddy field.
The toilets and showers were spotless considering the state of the site, and the wardens were very helpful.
Very disappointed with the play area,2 swings and 1 slide.
Luckily Tittesworth Reservoir was only a few minutes drive away, and hubby took the grand children there, on fine days, unfortunately being a mobility scooter user I was unable to use it due to the state of the grass.
