We use this site two or three times a year - it is conveniently located to support our activities at the nearby Churnet Valley Railway. The site is always spotless including the toilets. The staff have always been helpful, this year even helping us to hand manouevre the van onto a pitch to avoid the car wheels churning up wet grass.
The site is quiet with great views of the Roaches, easy access along the A53 and friendly staff. It certainly lives up to the club motto - 'The Friendly Club'

This is a clean site with reasonable facilities as you would expect from C&CC. Bit disappointing they do not recycle yet. Some of the tent pitches are on a slope and it could be a bit exposed if there are strong winds. Most of site seems to be hard standings. Not much for kids to do as stated by others, there is a small play area but it is at the top of the site, by the entrance and cannot be seen from most pitches. There is a picnic table there so you can sit with a brew and supervise.
Loads to do in the local area. Tittesworth reservoir has an excellent play area and is five minutes drive away (pay and display), with walks in the woods and around the lake and a reasonable cafe. Alton Towers is less than 30 mins away, Buxton is a lovely little town with a great park (Pavilion Gardens), surprisingly large selection of shops. There is a farmers market on some Thursdays, which can be found in other local towns on different days of the month.
Castleton has an excellent visitors centre and Blue John Cavern is a good wet weather trip
There are some interesting rock outcrops at the Roaches which are less than 10 mins away and cracking scenery wherever you look.
There are Co-ops and Morrisons in Leek and Buxton.
We will come here again mainly because we love the local area

Visited Leek in very poor weather, for a two night stay, whilst taking the kids to Alton Towers. Not very child friendly, no ball games allowed, and we felt overall that it doesn't really cater for young families. The facilities were very clean and well thought out.

Very clean site, There are two toilet blocks, the newest is the nicest but very slippy when wet. The other must be the original as more cramped. The assistant site manger was very helpful and helped us get the caravan into position.
The site is quite and not a lot of space for children to play although there is a small playground for them. Older children have nothing and our son was bored.
The site does not do recycling yet and the bins were full on the day we were leaving.
The pitch itself was tidy but you need rock pegs to tie down an awning, it also slopes gently. The noise from the traffic was noticeable.
Overall a nice site and plenty to do in the nearby area. Would go again.

Visited over Bank Holiday and site was full, although adequate toilet / shower facilities. BEWARE if floor in toilet block is wet VERY slippy, I found out. Not too impressed with 'Friendly Warden' who met us when we arrived, perhaps he was just having a bad day! If you have a dog, there is a 'Dog Walk', suitable for one chihuaha - anymore it would be crowded. There is a gate, but there are holes in the fencing so take care. Not really anywhere else on site to walk the dogs. There is a busy road next to site, which is very noisy. Tent site side seems to be a lot quieter. It may seem as though I am running this site down. Not really. It was well laid out, clean, cared for, toilets were clean, although they may not stay like that for long as I noticed other campers taking their dogs into the toilets with them! Site is situated in some lovely countryside and is well worth a visit.

Really lovely site, quiet and peaceful. Spotless toilets and washing up sinks ( only occasionally had to queue, even though we stayed in peak season), hot showers, great little laundry room. Our children loved feeding the rabbits that appear around dusk. We stayed and extra night and hope to return soon.

I stayed for a one night stopover. Beautiful site and well kept, with the usual facilities up to the high standard of a CCC site. Definitely a site I would go back to, staff so helpful and friendly. They even have a "PIE and CHIP'S" van visiting the site daily.

Very nice surroundings very quiet and peaceful 2 spotless toilet shower blocks laundry dish washing area all the usual things you would expect from a c&cc site.
I would say that this site is not very family orientated and perhaps aimed more at couples middle aged upwards as the warden read us the riot act after showing us to our pitches. The usual strictly no noise after 11.00pm no ball games anywhere all the usual things that we were quite happy to comply with - just felt he was a little abrupt in his manner, leaving me feel a little on edge for the weekend watching my kids like a hawk. So they soon got bored not much for them to do. But a couple of miles away is tittersworth park with a great play area where they could let off some steam and play ball until the cows come home.
Everybody seemed to be in bed for 9.30 and you didn't dare speak as you could here a pin drop a mile away. Nice if that's what you like but not for us, non members costing £26 per night.

We have just returned from our first camping trip and were so glad we chose a good one. This site was great in every way and I cant think of a single fault. The showers were always hot, the toilets and washing up facilities clean, the grass short, the play park was small but nice.We had booked 3 nights but asked to stay an extra night and this was ok even in peak season. There is so much to do in the area and we would recommend this site. Hope they are all so nice.

June 2005 Spent a lovely weekend here, friendly site manager and staff. Price was very reasonable, only £15 per night for 2 adults and 3 children. Area we pitched was hardstanding and was a great spot on the site. Also has a large grass area for tents. There were 2 toilet and shower blocks both within easy reach reach of us. The site looked pretty full and yet each time we used the shower/toilet facilities they were empty and also very, very clean. Small play area for children which had a small slide and 2 swings.
The site is situated approx 19 miles from junc 16 of the M6 and was easy to find. Turn left out of site and you have a nice drive over to Buxton, the scenery was brilliant. The only thing I would suggest is to take some citronella candles/flares as we had a bit of a problem with the midges as we ate outside next to camper. Just a little bit of road noise from passing vehicles but nothing too bad.
All in all we were very impressed from this Caravan and Camping Club site and I would certainly recommend it to anyone as with the other C&C site we have visited you know that everything will be clean, tidy and above all peaceful. I would give it 8 out of 10 ,just wish it was situated closer to our home ...
