Just stayed at the new hollies hideaways (mini log babins) and was so pleased with everything. Seasoned tenters so very cynical but wanted a change. For £20 a night we got beds(take own bedding), chairs, table, heating, lighting, electric. Such good value for money.

Facilities are of a very good standard and spotlessly clean. Staff are excellent, friendly, accommodating, what else can I say. Would without a doubt recommend. The only way it could have been improved would have been with regional info re what was going on as missed some good activities as we found out after the event. Brilliant idea.

Nice site, some pitches bigger than others - ours was very spacious, but some quite tight. Had our own tap for water as well, which was nice. Shower and toilet block clean, modern and well-kept.

Not keen on the 'rubble' surfacing of the roads, but perhaps that's being picky - I just think it lets down the appearance of an otherwise very attractive site. It will be better when all the building work is done - this looks a bit scruffy in places, but then building work does!

Dog walking is across the road in the polo club - early in the morning and in the evenings when they're not playing. Couldn't find a decent off-lead walk anywhere else nearby. Main road at front of site is a bit noisy at times.

Some lovely food is sold in the farmshop on site - unfortunately at astronomical prices. This didn't seem to put anyone off though!

Altogether a very nice site, would go back.

Since our last visit to this excellent site it has been improved yet again. There are now hard standings on most of the pitches, many fully serviced, more landscaping and another new toilet and shower block has been built at the lower end of the site. The original toilets now have very good disabled facilities and at the washing up area, use of a free washing machine.

The pitches are generous in their size enabling the largest of caravan outfits plenty of space to park, indeed most of the lower pitches will fit large american motorhomes.

An interesting addition to the site has been six camping pods placed in a lovely woodland setting, ideal for a quick break. There is a very good cafe on site so you don't even need to cook.

The food in the farm shop gets more varied and mouthwatering every time you enter and really is a food lovers paradise.

It is always nice to be here and the owners and staff always make you feel very welcome and are always extremely helpful.

We hope to be coming for many more visits in the future.

We have just visited this site for the weekend with friends. There is no park for children no dog walk or poo bins. The camp roads are shingle, the same as the hard standing for the vans, but the service water and electric hook up are not by the hard standing, but a good 6-8 feet away so your water pipe may not reach, the pitch was a good size but not very deep so our caravan nose was by the road, also the electric went off on the morning we left.

The site is under construction with the hide away huts still being built so when we arrived it was a bit noisy but on the up side they were quiet at the weekend.

There are two toilets and a wet room which are new and very clean, but it was hard to find the disposal point for chemical waste, the shop is very expensive and you have to go into the shop to check in.

Owner's comments : I would like to take the opportunity to reply to BELLE and answer your unjustified criticisms of The Hollies Caravan Park.

Firstly, your issue was about the proximity of the water point at pitch to your caravan. We offer premier pitches at no extra cost to standard pitches, and so you are paying no more for the convenience of your water point at your pitch, The Hollies cannot be held responsible for the length of your hose pipe. Although I did offer to help and get a longer hose at no charge to yourselves.

Children are very welcome at The Hollies, and we do have a large open park, contrary to your suggestion of no park for children.

Dog walking is off site, along the lane next to the park, this has always been the case and there is pedestrian access just 10yards from the pitch Belle occupied.

Most of the pitches are of good size, and interesting that most people comment about this, including review 30, an American Motorhome, which occupied the same size pitch as the complainant.

It is implied that on the morning of vacation, that we would turn off the power to your unit, this only happens if you trip or overload the system. However, if you had a power cut, we would happily turn it back on, at no cost!

It is true that within the forest, we are building log cabins, but there is no detrimental effect on the caravan park, to be fair, most people are intrigued by these lodges and are welcome to look round.

The shop is also the site reception, and you do have to go in to check in, and in terms of cost, the farm shop sells some really great tasty food, maybe not the cheapest but probably one of the best shops on any caravan park! I am pleased that BELLE liked the toilets and thought they were new and clean.

We will endeavour to have a larger sign put up for the elsan point.

I hope that this addresses the balance, we have not worked hard on this site to be unfairly criticized for what we believe is a issue regarding a water point, better still, if you would like to book and see what all the fuss is about, book on line now.

Stayed here for 4 nights over the bank holiday weekend with my Wife and teenage daughter.

This lovely site was very easy to find, being directly located on the A49 (no narrow lanes to travel down!). The park is actually part of the Hollies garden centre, which is a gardeners delight! The farm shop on site is absolutely amazing, as described by other reviewers, stocking every foodstuff that you can possibly imagine. It could be pricey, depending on your taste, though.

The pitches are a mixture of grass or hardstanding. All have electric, and some have fresh and waste water. The pitch sizes are mostly generous, although several could be described as 'adequate' in size. All could hold a car, van and awning, however.

There is some road noise from the A49, but tall trees screen a lot of it out. The noise wouldn't keep you awake at night, unless you were in a tent in the camping area, which is closer to the road.

The access road has recently been re-laid, and the whole site appears to be undergoing gradual improvement, with bushes and fencing being installed around the pitches.

The toilet block also appears to have been recently completed, and was always clean and tidy. There is only 1 shower in the gents and the ladies, although the disabled shower room can also be used. The site was full during our visit, but we never had to queue for a shower. There was always plenty of hot water available too.

The washing up facilities consist of a clean pair of sinks and drainers, again with plenty of hot water. There is also a washing machine in this area, which is free to use.

There is no children's play area, but there is a central 'green' which is great for ball games etc.

The site is ideally located to visit Chester (20 minutes away), Chester Zoo (30 minutes away) and Hack Green underground nuclear bunker at Nantwich (20 minutes away), which is well worth a visit!

Pubs and restaurants in the area are pricey, but it pays to look around. We tended to eat out during our day trips, and have a snack at tea-time using produce from the farm shop.

Overall I would rate the park very highly, and would stay again. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we had a relaxing time.

I stayed in one of The Hollies Camping Pods for 1 night as a surprise for my husband. You book into the farm shop and we were shown to our camping pod or the Hollies Hideaway as they are called. There are 6 pods arranged in a wooded area at the back of the touring site.

The pods come complete with 2 campbeds, a table and a camping cupboard plus lighting and heating. There is a decked area outside the pod and 2 communal bbqs and several picnic benches in the middle of the pod area.

The shower block was no more than 30 seconds away and had 2 toilets and 1 large shower. Very clean. There is also another block on site which we did not use.

Overall we had a fantastic stay and it was very relaxing and peaceful staying in the wooded area. We were lucky to have the area all to ourselves and there were around 2 other tourers on site so very quiet but it was midweek.

Yes the farm shop is lovely and there is a cafe on site but we chose to cook breakfast ourselves. We will definitely be back as we only live about 20 minutes from this fantastic site.

Maybe I expected too much following the previous glowing reviews. We arrived in confusion (it was a Saturday). No clear signs, having to stop on the busy car park outside the shop, owners too busy to do other than take our money, allocate us a pitch and wave a site map at us. Don't have pitch 13, by the way. It's cold. The road traffic noise was terrible, really, really intrusive - and went on until well after midnight. We stayed 2 nights and my ears were literally (and I MEAN literally) aching by Monday morning. If there was a good place to walk the dog (other than down a narrow lane & dive into the hedge when cars come ) we didn't find it.

Toilets ok - a bit cold as not heated. Shop impressive but expensive. However, if you wanted rural, peace and quiet, I'd say don't stay here!

I've just returned from my first visit to the Hollies site, wishing that I could have stayed for a few more days.

As has already been mentioned the shop is amazing, they stock things that I've never seen before. It will be a great place to buy Christmas stuff later in the year.

I really loved the ladies shower, even though it has the dreaded push button it was really pleasant to use.

My pitch had EHU and water, with a drain for grey water. All this for only £15 for the night - great value!

Fantastic stay as always at the Hollies.

The facilities and surroundings on the site improve every time we visit.

I love to browse in the farm shop, and you are always made to feel welcome.

The new toilet and shower blocks were finished for the easter weekend. These are set in a lovely woodland area near the new wooden 'pods' they have had built for a brilliant way to go camping without a tent!

There is also a brand new fully furnished luxurious Lodge that is available for hire, and everyone is encouraged to have a look around.

My husband and I always feel well rested after a stay at the Hollies and it has a tranquil feel to the whole camp site.

Not very clear where to book in and we ended up accidentally driving out of the site and coming back in again! Site has very large pitches some with hardstandings but the path/roads in between the rows of pitches are only caravan width. The back rows seem to be better as further away from the A49 and some of the pitches have a low fence either side of your pitch which really makes it feel like your own space.

5 minutes away from Discover Leisure if you need and caravanning supplies and only a few minutes away from Blakemere which seems to be have less units open and looks like its failing. There is a little road noise but it is not really noticeable.

Spotless shower and facilities which looks quite new. If you are a foodie make sure you remortgage before you go as I spent a fortune in the gourmet farm shop on site! Lots of rabbits and chaffinches and a nice site. Wi-FI available for £3 per day. Couldn't get all freeview channels particularly bbc 1 and 2
