mixed thoughts on this site sadly. A nicely kept / maintained site behind a large and busy high class farm shop / deli / garden centre, which is also the site reception though this is not obvious on arrival. The site is laid out in 3 long quite narrow rows with a road down the middle, very wide / spacious pitches and units offset / opposite, the narrowness and layout sadly gives little / any room to swing / reverse your outfit in / out if anyone is set up opposite your pitch on arrival / departure, no kids area we saw, plenty of hook ups and water points.
Noise is the main problem here though, the first row of pitches is 80 yds from the very busy / fast A49 and from 7.30am boy can you here it! the rows further back have trees / bushes and could be better, but to add to the aural symphony its under the flightpath for manchester airport! This is not a quiet place!
Unfortunately the exit road out from the aforementioned busy farmshop's carpark goes around the tent field and skirts across the end of the site leaving some pitches very exposed to the stream of traffic all day, also the pitch / site road through pitches 1-11 is used as a rat run by the many delivery vans servicing the shop complex (going round the site is much lengthier and you can't blame the van drivers, this is a site management issue) these drivers and the shop customers also have free access to and use of the site toilet block which are new, well cleaned and very nice.
The fox and barrel pub is 2 miles down the A49, a very gastro pub (no steak pie and chips here!)
Barring the petrol station 1.5 miles up the A49 nearest shop / chinese / pizza etc is Winsford 6 miles or so away.
Farm shop is handy but generally the site appears secondary to it and few very local facilities we will not be returning unfortunately

Stayed here for a night in August and virtually had the place to ourselves. Only about another 10 units on the entire site. Very good value for money at £15 and a well laid out and equiped site.
The main road is a little noisy but it certainly didn't keep us awake. The farm shop is very nicely stocked but I thought a bit pricey! But for the convenience of a fresh coffee and a pastry I don't mind paying a bit extra when on holiday.

We pulled onto the Hollies and were given a very warm welcome and taken into the shop to register and pay. First pleasant surprise - we could not believe how inexpensive the fees were given the size of the pitches. £15 per night for a fully serviced pitch is excellent value for money.
The facilities are very clean. There is a domestic washing machine which is free of charge.
Each pitch is flat and we opted for a fully serviced facility. One downside was that our son tripped the electric and the reset buttons aren't on the electric pod but we were able to hook upto the adjacent pitch which was unoccupied.
Directly opposite Cheshire Polo Club has 3 pitches and given the absence of any No Dogs Allowed signs we were able to exercise our 2 retrievers around the parameter (naturally cleaning up after ourselves).
The Farm Shop has a huge selection of goodies and is a pleasure for anyone remotely interested in food!
We visited Chester Zoo, Port Sunlight, Cheshire Oaks and took a bus and boat trip in Chester.
The children were allowed to play and ride their bikes but felt that the owners might consider installing a small play area - that said at £15 per night I am not complaining.
We would definitely visit again.

This was our first trip out in our preloved caravan.
The site was lovely and very clean. The shower in the ladies was a wet room and the shower was brilliant. Toilets were spotless.
Adequate facilities for fresh and waste water. We noticed that some of the taps next to the pitches did not work though.
Pitches had EHU and were well spaced with hedges between each pitch.
Wash room area with sink and washing machine.
The shop sold lovely food, although it was a tad expensive.
Delamare Forest is just down the road and Oulton Park Race course is not far away.
You will find a large caravan and camping shop, Discover, about 10-15 minutes down the road.
All in all a pleasant site with friendly staff. I would stay again.

On the face of it this is a great campsite, excellent facilities, superb farm shop, friendly and helpful staff - unfortunately however you cannot get away from the fact that it sits right on the A49 and you certainly know about it !
Basically the camp site is split into two separate areas -
1. The caravan park with allocated pitches and electric hook up etc
2. A camping field which is a free-for-all
We stayed on the camping field and there practically nothing to deaden the sound of what is a very busy A road
Furthermore, the exit route from the very popular farm shop / garden centre runs around the edge of the camping field (which also substitutes as an overflow car park) which means a procession of vehicles throughout the course of the day pass by as you try and enjoy the tranquillity !
I am sure that as the caravan field is set further back from the road the traffic noise is a lot less noticeable but as I didn't stay there I can't comment
There are no play facilities but all the kids entertained themselves as they always do
The shop closes around 7 and provides pretty much everything that you would expect
In short the location is a real issue - which is a shame because it really is a great little site and attracted some very friendly individuals

Just returned from a fantastic weekend at this site. This site has just recently started taking tents which is good news for campers it is a very family friendly site not excepting groups of youths which is refreshing.
On arrival we checked in at the shop the staff were very helpful + friendly the shop is a hidden gem best campsite shop in the country!
When pitching had no probs ground is very flat + water drains away well. Toilets + showers were immaculate they were cleaned regularly. Plenty of space for kids to play although no actual play area. There is a pub which is about a 5-10 min walk and delamere forest is only 5 mins in the car plenty to do in the area.We were also told that they are in the process of installing wifi. We will definitely be returning to the site.

This is a lovely well kept site, we found it very quiet with large pitch spaces and really clean toilet block. Didn't use the shower as use our own but they looked very clean. The farm shop was just stocked with loads of lovely foods that you could spend a fortune on all the different things, and we had lunch in the farm shop cafe which was really nice too. No kids play area but there was Blakemere house nearby with lots for kids to do. Overall a really lovely site that I would go back to again.

I have mixed thoughts on this site. We stayed here twice , the first time was great, lovely and peaceful with plenty of room between units (large pitches with low hedge between pitches).
Farm shop is good although a bit expensive compared to the one near to where we live.
Facilities seemed a bit tired, like someone else has said its as if the site is secondary to the shop. You had to fight with the flies at the dishwashing point and the chemical disposal point smelt so much I could not face using it with the result we took our tank home and emptied it there. Fortunately we only stayed a couple of nights.
The second time was much the same but we left early due to a rather unsociable group pitched next to us who partied all evening then suffered the effects the next day. The site manager dealt with our complaint quickly and efficiently and offered a free stay but we declined the offer and probably wont be returning.

Lovely camp site , nice shop, plenty of choice so no need to cook as plenty of ready meals, steak was great. Nice and clean. Some noise from the road and some from the polo club next door but this ended at about 12 midnight. Nice to have own water on pitch. When booking in, you go into the shop there, as we were looking for a office. Staff were helpful and we just had to ask if there was any thing we needed .

Very pleasant site, as long as you don't stay Friday night, and on one of the pitches nearest the garden centre. We were woken up at 6.0 am by a large lorry delivering produce for the farm shop, this noise carried on for 45 minutes, it really was loud, and especially annoying so early in the morning. We were told by the owners, it only happens on a Saturday, but we couldn't go back to sleep, and it spoiled the weekend.Other people who were near us on the site, especially those with children, had all been woken up. Perhaps a later delivery time may be the answer.
