Nice site let down by the toilet and shower block. very basic. no heating in showers. tokens for the shower. no privacy in the shower changing area. The pitches were nice and level. grass well maintained and plenty of pubs nearby with decent food and nice canal walks.

Lovely site with good facilities We received a lovely warm welcome from the warden, who let us stay at very short notice, Field is level with hard standing. Toilets and showers are in a building all kept clean and tidy, with a information board, This is a wonderful site to either walk or cycle from, especially the cycling as there are so many quiet roads and lanes. We will be back.

We have walked past this site several times whilst staying in Haxey and Misterton so decided to give it a try. This is a well kept site with decent toilets and ok showers. Really good value and a good site for e relaxing few days. Quite a few folks fishing on the canal adjacent to the site. There are 2 pubs in the village, one in front of the site and another with a micro-brewery about a 5 minute walk away. We are already booked to return.

The site is basic but clean and tidy. Staff on site very helpful. The location is good with a pub straight next to the site and good walks along the river idle into Misterton. There is a small supermarket in the village and a butchers. The food from the butchers was very nice. Toilet and showers were clean. You need to purchase tokens to use the showers. If you want a chill out with some decent walks nearby this site is ideal. There are lots of places to walk the dog just off site which is handy last thing at night. Very good value for money- £15. 00 per night for two adults a child and the dog.

A lovely peaceful site with fabulous canal walks. A couple of pubs within short walking distant offering good food and a great atmosphere (our favourite was the White Hart). Lovely clean toilet and shower block although the the shower cubicles have been badly designed - nowhere to dry off unless you want to expose yourself to all!
I don't feel it's suitable for children as there are no special play areas etc set aside for them - even for kicking around a ball!
The site is kept clean and tidy but, and it is a big but, the roads/paths around the site are appalling - pot holes everywhere which in the wet weather makes for extremely muddy walking around I site. This also means your awning and inside of van becomes filthy! Come on site owners - please get this bit sorted no one wants mess to constantly have to clean up,
I would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely site overall.

Nice looking site, but we will not be going back. The road way round the site is a joke, in the dark, my wife tripped quite a few times. The shower block had no hot water, it would help if the ground around the toilet block was better landscaped.
We went for a stroll round what they call Dingly Dell, nice area, but two trees been pulled over by a tractor, it would seem, and left, yet again not very good.
Seems like a lot of different things started, but not many finished
The surrounding areas are very nice, with two very good pubs, both within reach of the site.

This was the first time we have been here, it was a very friendly and clean site, the warden was very friendly and helpful, showers were very clean. We have been back three times now it is great for either walks or relaxing. There are two pubs one on site and one a short walk away and both are very dog friendly and do great food. It is well worth a visit.

Easy access to site, was guide do the pitch by Derek, the warden.
The hard standing was gravel but on a down side the roads need re gravelling.
The layout of the showers is not too good as there isn't anywhere to dry and dress in private. They were very clean and the water was hot and free even though you need to request a coin from Derek to operate the showers, this coin also require a £5 deposit.
Locally at about a 10 minute walk there's the White Hart Pub which has its own micro brewery, food is plenty but sometime lacking in flavour but the real ale is good.
All in all a good relaxing stay & we would go again.

We spent two days at this site. It was lovely weather for the last weekend in February. There are lovely walks along the canal. They are friendly at the site. The only thing we didn't like was the new shower block, it was a communal changing, you have to change outside the shower stall and leave your clothes outside, there's no where to put them in the cubical. That's the only drawback. The pub serves very good food and cheap and the landlord is very friendly.

We wanted to find somewhere near home for those regular 2 night getaways. We've found it, its a little gem. Met by Derek at the gate, very friendly guy. Nice tidy site, obviously there are rules but it's not in your face. We didn't use the new toilet and shower facilities, we always use our own (otherwise why have them) but I'm told they are fully operational. Didn't see anywhere where a motorhome could empty grey water, other than that, perfect for short stays. The Waterfront Inn is right next door, very pleasant, good food at excellent prices and dog friendly. Only negative was the Karaoke which went on till well after midnight but I don't think its a regular thing. As soon as we arrived we wanted to come back again, cant wait!
