This was our first visit to this site, but it won't be the last, a nice peaceful location, very helpful and friendly warden, good level pitches with the grass well trimmed we had a hardstanding with EHU. The showers weren't operational when we visited, but the toilets are nice and new and kept very clean, easy access, reasonable fees and a pleasant dog walk. There is a pub which looks nice and is very handy.

We had two nights at this site. We had a decent hardstanding pitch with electric hook-up.

We were told before we visited that the showers are not in use yet as the boiler hasn't been fitted. The toilets are clean and tidy. It looks like the showers are going to be on a token system. (Not sure where you are going to put your clothes as its straight into a nice shower area - no changing area within each cubicle)

It also looks like a washing up area will be in use soon.

The campsite is close to the canal so you can go for a nice walk along the canal bank.

We pitched our caravan on the 22nd with no snow, but boy when we woke up the next day it was there. the site is very basic a new shower block is still not finished and only one loo seat fitted in the gents. I would think it would be a nice site to just chill out in summer, The Waterfront Inn is very good for meals and the hosts are great you can view the marina from the eating area or sit outside weather permitting.

Just returned from here after a two night break. a lovely peaceful site. new toilets in use and the showers won't be long, they are really nice, looks like the showers are going to be token operated, not sure how much they will be, but will be worth it I'm sure. the site owner was very nice and helpful.

The site is situated on the edge of a village behind one of its two pubs, The Waterfront Inn, we ate there on both evenings, 2 for £10, good choice of meals and they are home cooked with real chips ! The people who own it are really nice and nothing to much trouble, also dogs are allowed in.

Nice walks down the canal, Trent and Idle, look forward to returning in the summer

Visited for 3 day stay with the Bonfire deal. £53 for 3 nights, which included attending the site bonfire, fireworks, free beer, hotdogs and burgers so not bad overalls.

No hard standings available so ended up on the grass which was very soft, facilities basic and the 'ongoing' toilet block development is apparently sill ongoing, no hot water, showers, heating or urinals just one cubicle usable in the gents the ladies was a little bit better but not much.

Site is very quiet not much around it but Gainsbrough isn't too far away, great walks down the village and canal paths but that's about it. Local pubs ok but died eat at any but the local Chinese takeaway was very nice.

Overall site was ok, basic but could really do with the shower block completing, get the showers working, heating etc and it could be ideal for weekend breaks not sure about longer stays as there isn't much around it.

Very flat, cheap and well spaced out site.

The owner was very helpful after the site we had booked had told us they had lost our booking of 7 caravans and was unable to fit us in but these did due to 30 caravans leaving just 24hrs previous.

Pub not 200 yards away and a very small stall holder in the village selling fruit and veg(nothing special)pub further in the village and nice place to sit and enjoy a beer after a long walk beside the canal.

On site showers and toilets are being renovated and will be up and running soon so if you hate to use your caravan toilet in case it gets dirty then wait till they are up and running.

All in all a nice site for some peace and quiet from ball games(even though the kids played old fashion games like hide and seek)

Lovely peaceful site in a state of evolution. Hard standings, electric points, water points, grey water disposal, elsan point in place and newly built environmentally friendly toilet block nearing completion.

No ball games or bikes allowed so not particularly child friendly.

Nice walk into the village of Misterton 3/4 of a mile along the canal, where we found a small Co-op and a good Chinese takeaway who unfortunately do not deliver.

Two pubs closeby, but be warned The Waterfront Inn at the entrance has the most ignorant, arrogant landlord I have ever come across, who thankfully I have heard is leaving and a Yacht club which opens weekend evenings.

Friendly staff, good value so we will be back.

We booked on this site after finding it on ukcampsite.Co.Uk. Really friendly over the phone and we booked 2 nights giving only a nights notice. We also advised we'd be turning up later on in the evening but this wasn't a problem for the warden. The site wasn't very well signposted and in the dark we drove straight past it, and the sat nav postcode had it listed as a few hundred yrds further down the road. No problem though as we turned round in the village further on.

Friendly reception on arrival and we were shown to our pitch, which was hardstanding. I normally don't have a problem reversing but the site was quite dark so it took 2 or 3 attempts but we got there in the end. We then found out there wasn't any toilets or showers on site! no real problem as we'd have to use the caravans facilities, until our water pump packed up so we spent a weekend washing out of a sink that we'd fill up using the kettle!

The pub out front of the site was really nice, serving some lovely real ales though we didn't eat there. The marina was also very nice to walk round and the locals were really friendly and chatty.

Would really recommend this site for peace and quiet, not so ideal for older kids as there aren't any play areas, but as ours is only 12 months old this wasn't such an issue. Bargain at £13 a night and we weren't charged for the dog or for leaving late on sun. We cant wait to return in the summer with a BBQ.

What a lovely site in a very nice part of the country. West Stockwith is such a friendly place with locals willing to pass the time of day and have a bit of banter in the pub(s).

The Waterfront Inn serves the best sunday lunch we have had in a long time and the quiz at The White Hart on Tuesday was a great night.

The Waterfront Country Park is a wonderfully peaceful location, the only downside being the lack of facilities on site, but, hey, what are toilets and showers for in a caravan if not to be used.

The Shower and toilet block, when finished, will probably add a few quid to the price but it will still be worth going. We loved it and will be going

This is a lovely site to go to for a weekend or a week. Site owners couldn't do enough to help you.

Fantastic walks up and down the canals or around the marina. Village has every thing you need, canal pub sells good beer & good food.

The only thing I would change on this site is for the owners to open a small shop to sell bread eggs, milk etc.

When the toilet/shower block opens this site will have every thing you will need
