I was attending an event at Burrs Country Park and so booked my campervan in for two nights. WOW, says me at the price for 2 nights a bit too much for a small campervan conversion. However having thought about it, I decided to join the Caravan Club for an annual fee of £48 online price. The cost reduced by £24 and I still had a full year cover to get me in to Club sites of which The Burrs is a definite return. Next to an outdoor adventure clubhouse with bunks. The Burrs show was on when I visited so that was a bonus. The wardens were very helpful as I have not been on a Club site before and required advice as how to park on the pitch but what a great view of the steam trains. The showers were red hot and very clean. I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 nights and hopefully visit again in the future. I also look forward to using my card for other such sites.

We spent a weekend here what a wonderful site with being located in a country park and the east lancs railway line behind the site with steam trains passing my husband loved this.
The site is lovely and clean and facilities as always to a high standard!
We shall be returning.

A nice well maintained site with good facilities. The Brown Cow pub adjacent is okay for a drink and chat with friends but The Garsdale, a short walk back along the entrance lane is nicer for a special meal. The bus into Bury takes only a few minutes and there is plenty to do there including the famous East Lancs Steam Railway.
Two negatives unfortunately, but neither of them the fault of the site. We stayed there during school holidays and found the site was full of really badly behaved children allowed to run wild by unconcerned parents. Also adjacent to the site in the park area on one of the evenings was a large crowd of youths drinking and shouting and generally causing a nuisance. Again probably due to it being school holiday time. We will certainly visit again but will be more cautious of when we do so.

Have visited this site many times, and there is nothing at all bad about it. Every time we visit I can't wait to go back. The wardens are very helpful and cheerfull most of the time. If your thinking of visiting this site make sure you book well in advance as it is very popular. The Country Park is only a very short stroll away and ideal if you have a dog, lovely walks. Burry market half hour walk away, or 10 mins by car. Well worth a visit.

Just returned from a 5 night stay here and our first stay here on a caravan club owned site. You approach the site through a housing estate and you start to question your thinking. BUT don't. It is a fantastic site and the best we have stayed on to date (been touring just 6 months).
My wife writes a journal for our trips and this got 95/100. Its very handy for Bury, 25 min walk on footpaths. The Brown Cow pub is, in effect, on site and very good. Beer is excellent (real ale)and food is basic but wholesome and good value. £11 for a mixed grill or 8oz sirloin.
It is SPOTLESSLY clean and I loved the steam train that runs along its fenceline.
Bury Market is brilliant and the meat and fish hall is open daily.
We have a large dog and there are loads of places to walk him including the country park on the doorstep which is set up for dogs.
We would definitely return here. We only paid £20 a night for a fully serviced pitch in half term!

We stayed on Burrs park to visit Manchester Christmas Market and the famous Bury market. The site is open all year and has spacious well laid out with large well spaced flat gravel or grass pitches all with EHU. Fully serviced pitches are also available. The toilets are immaculate as would be expected of the caravan club. The adjacent country park is excellent for exercise and dog walking. There are open views from most of the site. The wardens are very friendly and helpful. The Brown Cow pub is adjacent to the caravan park and serves very good reasonably priced food. The bus nearest the site is 500 yards away and is an hourly service into bury where buses or metro link to Manchester are frequent. Metro £4. 60 return, free if you have a now card issued by transport for greater Manchester. An alternative bus. Service further way offers a ten minute service to Bury? The steam train line runs through the site at week end. The old industrial history around the site is very interesting and well maintained.
NB there is a fairly steep, slope on entry to the caravan park this may prove difficult in icy weather.

To find site:- Leave M66 at junction 2 onto A58 to Bury. Follow A58 through Bury following signs for Burrs Park. Bear right into Brandlesholme Road and watch out for right fork into Woodhill Road signed for Burrs Park. Continue right to the end of this road, the final section is over cobbles and through the remains of the old mills and then up a ramp to the site. A double barrier system is in operation. At the first barrier follow the instructions on the intercom and reception will raise the barrier allowing to pull forward to the site entrance proper.
Burrs Country Park CC Site is situated in the Country Park which is on the outskirts of Bury. The site is open all year and accepts non-members. There are 85 pitches all of which accept awnings. About 75% are on hardstanding and the rest on grass. Six of the hardstanding pitches are fully serviced. Electric points are handy to all pitches and use CEE 17 blue connectors. The electric bollard also have co-ax TV connectors. The toilet block is centrally situated and is of a high standard. There are three service points dotted around the site plus a motorhome service point. Reception sell a few essentials and newspapers can be ordered. Next door is a small information room. There is site wide WiFi which I found pretty reliable. Along one side of the site is the East Lancs Railway with regular steam trains depending on time of year. Next to the site, near the entrance, is the Brown Cow pub. Whilst this is a handy hostelry for a drink or even a meal it does also create some day time noise but usually only at the weekend. There is no on site children’s play area although there is a playground not far away plus of course plenty of kick about space in the Country Park. A rather nice touch is the small herb garden at the front of the sites with an invitation for members to help themselves to what they need.
This site is ideal for a visit to Bury and its famous market or perhaps a trip into Manchester on the tram system direct from Bury. There are buses available from near the site, about a 10 minute walk, into Bury and Ramsbottom. The East Lancs Heritage Railways runs from Bury through Ramsbottom and onto Rawtenstall. There are two eating establishments within easy walking distance of the site. For shopping major supermarkets are available in Bury.

Just returned from Burrs Caravan Club Site. Really nice site and facilities are excellent. Lovely and clean and the wardens were very helpful and pleasant more than can be said for the entrance into the site. The cobbles are terrible I would be surprised if there was no damage to vehicles that travel a lot to the site. I know its a site on an old mill but I have to say its a bit ridiculous. We had a look in the Brown Cow Pub on the site and I must say it was nice we were there when England played their first game and it was quite quiet considering. There is also another nice pub a little walk away up the drive and had a nice beef baguette there would definitely recommend it. Also nice Pint.

We have visited this site on many occasions as it is close to home so chose to try new caravan on Burrs for a couple of days.
Facilities all very clean and while nothing for the Kids on site it's next door to the Country Park and river walks.
Easy walk into Bury for the fab market and shops. Pub next to site, the Brown Cow, seems to have changed hands as we have been before and always felt comfortable taking our 9 & 8 year old in, not this time though due to the foul language, not from customers but the landlord!
No problems with site apart form one very rude Warden. On the final day of my visit my electric started going one and off, then after 5 minutes I received a knock on my caravan door to tell me the the electric may be disrupted due to work on the electric bollard, I informed the warden it already had been disrupted and stated that it might have been a little more courteous to let me know beforehand. I then asked how long this might go on for and received a very rude 'no idea' in response before he turned and walked off.
Been a member for 4 years now and have never met such a rude and discourteous warden on caravan club sites.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at this site. We found the wardens very friendly and helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The road leading to the site certainly gave the van a good shake rattle and roll! The toilet block is one of the cleanest we have ever seen even the drains in the showers were spotless and believe me that is not always the case. Only small gripe is that the showers could have had a bit more pressure. Bury is a pleasant 20 minute walk but was very quiet every time we went in. Manchester is easy to get to on the bus or tram. All in all a very pleasant stay and will return.
