Beautiful site. Lovely staff. Clean / modern toilet/shower block. Ideal for a quiet break with plenty of walking straight from your van. Overlooking Burrs Country Park.
A steam train passes the site a few times a day which is such a treat. People from the train are waving - take your camera. We loved it so much we booked again and stayed for the weekend two weeks later.
The pub just off site is OK, lots of locals in my opinion in the room to the left as you go in (avoid), but the other room is great. We sat outside though in the garden. Can't comment on food, but menu looks great and there were lots of people eating.
Bury town centre was fantastic. Shopping centre great most of which is in a very large precinct. Market is the best I've ever been to. All I can say is enjoy and I'm sure you will!

First trip out in our new to us caravan. Burrs is a fabulous site that is very clean and tidy. The site is ideal for dog lovers and adventure people alike, the country park is a really good facility. The Brown Cow pub is just 2 mins walk with real ale, reasonable food and loads of outside tables with an 'assault course' for kids
The town centre of Bury is only 5 min drive away, with all the usual shops, supermarkets etc.
The wardens were very helpful and receptive.
I would recommend this site to all caravanners.

Spent our second visit at this site, and we absolutely love it!
The location is fantastic for near bury / ramsbottom / manchester, and the country park is great for the dog.
The credit to the site for us, is when you pitch up and in your front window is the steam railway, just an amazing sight to see.
The site is very clean, no matter what time of day we went the toilet block was immaculate, and the site is VERY secure.
We fell in love with this site last year, and have tried to book in various times but the site was full, that says it all itself!
We totally recommend this site, we have stayed at a few caravan club sites, but this is our favourite!
Such a shame they don't do seasonal pitches!

Just returned from a weeks stay at Burrs. Have stayed here numerous times in the past and love the site, despite it being only 30mins from home.
The site is all you would expect of a club site. The toilet and shower facilities are clean modern and bright. There were always free cubicles despite the site being busy.
There is no play area for children on site but there's the country park for them to play in, also the steam trains run right by the site which is nice to see.
The staff were very friendly and there is a pub just outside the barrier, the Brown Cow. I have eaten here a few times but the food is pretty average.
There are plenty of walks for dogs and Bury is only a 25min walk away with its shops and famous market.
I already have several forward bookings for this site so am definitely going to return

Just returned from this site and have to say it wont be our last visit.
This is a typical caravan club site with the large pitches and excellent wash facilities. The grounds were very well maintained. The site is in a great location close to bury town centre, great for any walkers and people with dogs.
There are some lovely walks just outside the site and even more handy there is a pub right outside gates (Brown cow).
I suppose the only downside to the site is there is no play area for kids so we found all the kids would play on the roads, this was a bit of a a pain as it was right outside our caravan.
The staff seamed friendly even though we were a bit early, but we did leave very early as well. Will go to this site again and would highly recommend

Our first trip to Burrs Country Park and the start of our caravanning season. This is a lovely site with a good welcome from the Caravan Club wardens.
The site has good size pitches but with it being reasonably new the trees and bushes are still developing making it look a bit bare, a very well maintained site. It has a lovely relaxing feel.
There is one toilet block with all facilities, always clean and tidy and never having to queue.
We over looked the very large dog walking area, nice to see the training and walking of the dogs in the morning, there were paths (no need to get muddy), benches and plenty of trees, the dogs were running off their leads.
Plenty of walking in the Country Park or along the river. The old mill ruins is on site nice for a look around. There is an old canal to see with a bridge going across to walk in a wooded area.
Two pubs close by, one by the gates the Brown Cow and another 10 mins walk away this one was serving very good meals, ask for the mixed grill and you will need four of you to eat it!
Bury market is a famous large market, many people come on bus trips to see it.
No play ground for children. Enough to do around the country Park.
We will be back

Family of 4 in a touring caravan stayed in March as wanted to try out the caravan for the 1st time. Excellent site with good facilities. Near Bury market and Bury town centre but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet.
As this is in a country park lots of lovely walks and dog friendly. There is a lovely pub the brown cow just a wuick 2 mins walk from the main site and can highly recommend the food,
Will definitely be visiting again.

Well kept site. Clean and tidy toilets. Good walks nearby but tends to be full of dogs.
The site is close to Burry and from there it is easy to get on public transport to Manchester.
The plots are large and very well set out but the planting of trees would give the site a better character.
We did find the wardens very aloof - we did not feel that this club belonged to us as members because of the attitude of the wardens.
After years of visiting Caravan Club sites this is the only site we would not return.

Arrived last Wednesday for a three night stay, was rather disgruntled to be informed that come Friday there would be no electricity between 8am and 6pm, no prior notice, no phone call, no email! however after setting the alarm for 7am in order to shower and use facilities, it appears the electricity was never switched off after all. Apart from this we found the site to be very nice, toilet and shower facilities extremely clean and well maintained. Ate in the Brown Cow one evening and found it to be above average food with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Would definitely return to this site.

Just spent a very enjoyable weekend at Burrs Country Park.
We found the wardens to be very friendly and welcoming with lots of advice regarding the local attractions. Good site facilities - very clean shower block, plenty of showers (6 in the ladies I think) - never had to wait although the site was full.
Excellent site for dog walking although at the time of our visit there had been quite a lot of rain and the path along the River Irwell was extremely muddy. However the paths throughout the country park were fine and there is plenty of room for your dog to have a good run. It was also lovely to see the steam trains pass by the site.
Walked into Bury on the Saturday afternoon - part of the walk is not particularly pleasant as you walk through a derelict industrial estate but the walk only takes approx 25 mins. The market is definitely worth a visit as markets such as these are very rare nowadays. Good choice of stalls to have a browse around and also a couple of good fish stalls indoors. Bought some of the 'Famous Bury Black Pudding' - delicious!
We asked if we could stay longer on the Sunday but the site was very busy with new arrivals, however the wardens let us park in the car park so we could have another walk before returning home.
Didn't try the Brown Cow pub as we came with everything we needed for the weekend but we have booked again for later in the year so will definitely try it then - hopefully the weather will be kinder to us.
