A bit late leaving the review but we used Le Puits as an overnight stop to and from our Summer holiday to Brittany.
Its position is very convenient beside the A84 and can be found easily. The site is very pretty situated in a rolling estate surrounding a farm house. The owners, who are Irish, are very friendly and we enjoyed an evening meal on both occasions, it was simple but very tasty and convenient given that we arrived very late and wanted to get going sharp the following day.
We would definitely stay again and perhaps consider extending the visit next time in order to have bit of a browse around Normandy, especially the beaches.
The facilities are not great and it could get a bit slippery in wet weather but despite this a solid 8/10.

Used as a stopover for 2 nights on the way south. Easy to find from the motorway with good access.
Very friendly welcome, nice quiet site, good size flat pitches. Showers/toilets clean. Very cosy bar with nice bar snacks on offer and a sing song as well with the owner. Good base to visit normandy beaches. Would stay again if in this area again.

What a great little site. We used as a stopover on way to and from Brittany and thought it was spot on. Lovely and quiet, great size pitches, good hot showers and very clean plus the added bonus of a bar and bar snacks. Run by a very helpful Irish couple so no language barriers either! Would definitely visit again if over that way. We actually booked an extra night and took in some of the D Day sights - only 45 mins away.

This is a nice enough site but I just want to warn anybody else expecting any fishing that the pond is now dried up and has been for the last few months. I had to get my money back from the owner after arriving and then after paying he told me about the pond! The 'super' (fully serviced) pitches are at the back of the site with a lovely view of rolling fields, but this is spoilt by a couple of dozen old touring caravans being stored right in your line of site. The owner got quite upset when I told him that basically he had mis-sold me a pitch (because of there being no fishing pond)and told me I could drive a few miles up the road if I wanted to fish! Apart from that, the site is fine.

Perfect stop over if travelling down or up the A84 as literally two minutes off this and very easy to find.
The lovely Irish owners run a lovely site laid out very thoughtfully and keep the many overnighters they get on the roll on roll off pitches to make the stopover even more painless.
Lovely bar and snack bar on site with limited but tasty selection of freshly cooked food and a great beer and Irish whisky list!
Would make a great base if staying in this area not just for stopovers

A really great site with friendly owners.
This was a return visit and I will return again! Our pitch was beautiful and the site is extremely well maintained. The toilets are not the greatest provision for a site of this size but they are absolutely spotless. The bar area is nice and the food smelt fantastic (just there for the beer!). The local town is very close by and bigger supermarkets just a little further. There are nice wide access roads from main motorway.
Overall a pleasant place for a stopover or indeed a longer stay to explore the locality

A little gem of a site with lovely owners. Like many others we only stayed overnight on the way to and from our ferry at Caen but fund the site very well run and obviously cared for.
Peter welcomed us late at night from the ferry and the roll on, roll off pitches are great for overnight stops. The toilets were small but spotless, water points and children's play area equally well cared for.
Food choice is limited in the bar but it was good and very welcome after a long drive, the beer was very good too.
Overall I'd recommend this site to anyone although at €24 per night for a caravan, 2 people and electric it could prove to be out of our budget for a long stay

This site is perfect for an over night stop if venturing in to France. We used this site as an overnighter on the way to Brittany. The pitches are large enough to allow you to keep the van hitched up overnight if you wish. The site has a park, our children did not use it - although it looked fine. Our van has two axles and we had no trouble negotiating the tracks within the site. The pitches can be uneven - ours was, but all was sorted with blocks. Now for the best bit - the bar, and of course the owners who were very friendly and accommodating even though we arrived later than we we intended. They soon had a couple of cold beers, lemonades for the kids and a bar snack rustled up to make us feel at home. The only down side to this stay is that we had to leave after one night.

We picked this lovely little site from the 'ukcampsite' website after reading the reviews. The location close to the autoroute and sited about half-way between the ferry and our ultimate destination made it an obvious choice.
Access is very good, being only a short distance from the motorway junction on the A84. After passing through the small village of Saint-Martin-des-Besaces, the site is signed off the D53 and not hard to find. We were slightly dubious of pulling into the farm courtyard prior to registering, but in the event there was plenty of room to swing our large twin-axle unit around.
We received a warm welcome from Peter, the site owner, who then walked us onto our pitch. He suggested that we leave our car hooked up, as this would make life easier in the morning if we wanted an early start.
A cautionary note though, when departing in the morning and heading west to the A84, my SATNAV tried to take me down some narrow lanes to get out to the autoroute. You would be better advised to turn left onto the D53 and then follow the signs for the Autoroute rather than the SATNAV.
All the pitches are grassed and bounded by small hedges which give lots of privacy. There is a spotless shower and toilet block together with chemical waste and grey water disposal. Peter is an absolute star, and both he and his wife Fran, were always on hand should you need anything. My wife is convinced Peter has a twin, as he seemed to be everywhere at once. He stated that he was ten foot tall when he bought the site, but the legs have worn down a little!
Peter runs a little bar on an evening after 7pm and between him and Fran they serve very simple quick meals which are just the job after a long tiring drive. We had a teenager with us who was welcomed and served his usual frites and hot chocolate, (which he said was perfect). We saw a warm welcome given to children and dogs alike. There is Wifi available in the bar area for a small charge, which covers your access regardless of how long you stay. There is a large washing machine and dryer available in the toilet/shower block.
We had no intention of exploring the area on this holiday, but found ourselves back here 10 days later, mainly due to poor weather. We turned up unbooked and unexpected and again received a warm welcome and greeted like old friends. Normandy for us then became a Battlefield Tour which we thoroughly enjoyed. Don't need to say anymore than that.
This is a lovely little site well placed to serve those who need an overnight stop before continuing West to Brittany or East back to the Channel Ports. It is also well situated to serve those who wish to exlore everything that Normandy has to offer. The site is peaceful and you feel like you are in the middle of the countryside. Peter and Fran are a lovely couple who will do as much as they can to help anyone. If at times they appear a little harried then blame us 'Caravanners', who all tend to turn up at about the same time. They don't need staff, they do it just right on their own with a personal friendly touch that appeals to all nationalities.
I'm absolutely certain we will be back.

The campsite is in a lovely area very accessible to motorway and Normandy beaches, memorials etc. We were given a great Irish welcome by Peter and Fran who were very helpful at all times. Sanitary facilities are exceptionally clean but cramped. Toilets are shared, showers are separate. Pitches grassed and very large but muddy during rain (wellies needed). Limited menu on offer (frites, pizza, quiche) but quiche was excellent. Le snug could do with a tidy up. Caravan storage also on offer. Not the cheapest site but you can be sure of a warm welcome.
