We stayed at the B and B but as we use a tent mostly we checked out the site. First, the bb rooms were very clean, bed comfy, breakfast nice and fresh, and both Peter and his wife made us welcome and were keen to help in anyway they could, and are very knowledgeable about the local area. Nice little bar and patio area. The campsite is well kept and set out in hedged bays mostly. The washing and toilets were very clean and not just a whole in the floor like some French sites. All in all my two mates and I had a very nice few days there and will go again when in the area

We stayed here at the beginning of August for 3 nights on a trip around France.

We were quite late arriving and got a very warm welcome from Peter and Fran.

Our pitch was spacious and tidy, all the pitches are separated by small hedges which was great.

There is a small bar which serves a small range of food which is very tasty.

The toilets/showers are kept spotlessly clean, as is the whole site.

The D=Day beaches are well within driving distances and the local village has quite a selection of shops and a fuel station.

We were touring on a motorcycle, it was our first ever trip abroad and the information and advice we got from Peter and Fran was first class. It made the rest of our holiday much easier and more relaxing.

I would definitely stay here again.

A very lovely camp site, which I would highly recommend.

My fourteen year old son and I stayed for four nights - and very much liked it. Peter and Fran are the friendliest, most helpful of hosts, while the site itself boasts lush, well tended and spacious plots, clean showers and toilets (including toilet paper in addition to fresh towels and soap for hand washing) and a nice little bar with outside seating, serving an array of drinks (including German beer on tap) and tasty bar meals, often consumed to the accompaniment of Peter's keyboard wizardry from 'le Snug'.

The nearby village, just off junction 41 of the A84, includes several shops along with a friendly bar, not to mention one of the Normandy landings museums (see Battle of the Hedgerows) and a petrol station.

Not far away are the Normandy landings beaches (I would recommend pretty Arramanches-les-Bains, including the 360 degree cinema experience), along with the Bayeux tapestry and Mont St Michel.

I would encourage anyone to stay at this site, with children or without. There's a nice play area with swings, slide and volley ball court, while the little lake is very picturesque and sports a sweet mini picnic table for the under 5's, next to the adult one.

If, like us, you camp 'basic' (with no need for electric hook-ups) then rest assured that mobiles and lap tops will be charged up for a nominal charge (Brits remember your continental plug adapters).

My son and I would certainly return to this peaceful, friendly site without hesitation, probably carrying with us some tins of Guinness for Peter (supply difficult in Normandy) and some quality tea for Fran.

We spent 3 nights here - 'doing' the Dday beaches and WW2 sites. The owners were very flexible when our ETA became later and later - even feeding our children despite passing the 9pm deadline. The food was good, if basic and quite pricey. Chicken nuggets, quiche and croque monsieur making up most of the menu. However, I would recommend the frites as a carry out option to go with whatever you have found on your travels. This is a tiny site which is quite refreshing and all the pitches are a good size. Excellent drive in / out pitches for campervans/motorhomes.

It has a quick turnover of campers, being an ideal stop off to or from the ferry ports, which makes it a little less friendly and you never know who you might wake up beside. You are very close to the motorway, but there is very little noise.

It's not particularly child friendly, but as long as you are using it as a base this should not matter and may suit those without children very well!

Loos and showers are basic but very clean and there is loo paper!

Mont St Michel is also within easy reach - though we couldn't see it for the fog and rain.

I would highly recommend this site for short stays and as a base for touring the WW2 sites. The village is pretty quiet, but there is a very good museum there which is easily overlooked, but should not be missed on your Dday tour.

Well what a delight this site is, one that the very friendly and helpful owners should be very proud of.

Nice and quiet in a natural setting with pitches of a good size with low hedges separating them.

Loo block always immaculate although they could do with a bit of updating. Loads of lovely hot water (which isn't always the case on some sites!)and if needed washing machine and dryer.

Brilliantly situated for exploring the WW2 Normandy beaches and surrounding areas a delight with 'Little Switzerland' near by. Will stay there again without a doubt and would recommend for couples and families with small childeren. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We spent 4 nights at this campsite and really enjoyed our stay.

We were met on arrival by the friendly owner and shown to our service pitch. The service pitches are large with beautiful views over the countryside. The facilities are kept very clean with plenty of hot water.

There is a large pond on site that has fishing if you wish. Also a small bar that serves snacks. We don't have children but there was a large play area. Bread was delivered to the site every morning.

Lots of places to walk the dog and the site owner made an appointment with the local vet in the village for the pet passport.

Fantastic site, would highly recommend and would return again.

The campsite is pretty on arrival with flower beds here and there. Grass had two weeks growth and in need of mowing and beds needed weeding. Ground sheets did not sit flat and stayed as a trip hazard for the whole week.

Pitches are large! Owners are lovely!

Recommend that someone is hired to help with grounds (mowing, weeding, hedge trimming).

You can order baguettes, bouls, plain de raisins and a couple of other things to be delivered to site daily.

All the facilities although very clean are in the owners back porch. There are three toilets in a row shared by men and women(soft music playing in them would be preferable). The two main showers:- one under the stairs and the other in the airing cupboard are in need of modernisation but preferable relocation and inadequate for the size of the campsite.

Meals are basic and slightly expensive.

Site is in a great area to visit St. Mont Michel (SW) and the landing beaches (North).

The fully serviced pitches appeared to only be in the bottom field and overlooked stores caravans.

Although we had no children the play area look very well thought out!

Glass bottles have to be removed from site by yourself to a recycle facility in the village (15min walk).

The village has two butchers (one pork, one beef), small supermarket, cake shop, bread shop, there is a small market one day.

Thank you Peter and Fran for a wonderful stay in this beautiful part of Normandy.

Me and my son (aged 15) stayed on this site for 3 nights to use as a base so we could tour the 2nd World War memorials and D-Day landing beaches. Peter is very knowledgeable and gave us some great information on where to go etc. In the reception area there is lots of leaflets on where and what to visit as well.

As other people have said the pitches are very spacious, the site was not very busy and the weather was very hot.

The site is very easy to find, just off the Autoroute from Caen, took us about 1 hour or so from Caen. As always when driving in France it was a pleasure, no hold ups, no road works, not very busy on the roads.

Would recommend this site.

We arrived at the site at around 9 am fresh off the overnight ferry. The owner was very helpful and sorted us out our pitch even though it was a busy time for him and it was pouring with rain. The pitch was spacious and level. We stayed for three nights, and overall, we thought the place was really lovely. It is quiet and situated on the outskirts of a village. You can walk to the museum and the shops from the site. The little bar run by the owners is lovely on a sunny evening, and we enjoyed sitting out and talking to our fellow campers. We did find the drinks prices a little steep. There is a nice open play area for the kids, plenty of gardens to wander in, and of course the pond.

The showers and toilets are fairly basic but clean. The water was lovely and hot. The facilities are closed everyday (in the afternoon) for about an hour 'for cleaning' - which we thought was a bit odd, but it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. When we were there the site was about half full and we did have to queue sometimes for washing up / showers / toilets at busy times.

The surrounding area is beautiful - rolling hills, quiet villages, and of course the coast and the Landing Beaches are an easy drive away. Lots for those interested in modern history all around. We would definitely stay there again.

Good sized pitches (10m x 10m), helpful staff and pleasant surroundings make this a generally pleasing campsite.

The sanitary block is in good working condition, although has just two showers for women and just one for the men. The laundry facilities are similarly limited, with one washer and one drier: with tokens for each costing €4.50, the fact that the drier takes two goes to get a load dry can mean it gets a little pricey.

We didn't use the Wifi: Why pay for something where you're restricted to an area near the office when you can get it free at some cafes?

The site seems to be used largely for stopovers and servicing caravans, so it's tricky to get a sense of community.

There is a lot to be said in this site's favour, though: We didn't have to pay extra for putting up a gazebo, and were able to use a barbecue. There are facilities to refreeze ice packs, and a good supply of books to borrow.

The location is quite good: quiet but well connected (excuse the pun).
