Just had 3 days at Pikes Oak, had a very relaxing time,

I fished and caught a nice 3lb tench, Carol read,

We had to park on the car park as the ground was so wet, but did not spoil it for us, we were the only ones there,

The toilets were nice and clean, good fishing and very peaceful

Absolutely loved our 3 night stay. The site only has a few pitches, each enormous with terrific views, supported with electricity and superb clean and modern shower/toilet facilities.

Everywhere is unbelievably well kept, tidy and recycling conscious. It was more than easy to relax at Pikes farm by our caravan and walking our dog. We also enjoyed the fishing at the picturesque natural fishing lake.

If you don’t like crowds or hordes of children, then make a bee line for this highly recommended camp site with fishing lake.

A lovely site to come to. Adults only and very peaceful.

The only noise you have is the aircraft arriving at East Midlands Airport and the main road. Once it starts to get dark you don't hear them.

The owner is very nice and if you are into fishing then you will have a great time here. Will certainly come back again.

Just got back from Pikes Oak Farm and what a gem of a find ! Plenty of room on your pitch - lovely fishing, spotless toilet and shower facilities.

Nice and quiet and the only noise was the planes which were fascinating to watch !

Owners are so friendly and helpful and their lovely dog so placid and welcoming. Close to Melton Mowbray for super pies, Nottingham for retail therapy and then back for a well earned G & T in the evening.

Will definitely be visiting again.

Just got back from 3 nights caravaning here and what a great time we had. Caravan site is very clean and tidy and easy to find.

Toilets are clean and tidy too with a very good shower, it's well worth 50p and lasts for seven minutes or so which is long enough. They are just in process of putting another shower in the toilet next door so thumbs up.

The fishing lake is very well looked after and they do day ticket fishing here to. There is some great walks near by and a pub in walking distance.

Yes we will be going here again soon

Just spent another lovely weekend at Pikes Oak.

We have now stayed here four times over the past ten months and find it suits our requirements we.

The owners are very obliging and do all they can to make sure your stay is enjoyable with someone at hand should you have a problem

The two toilets are always spotless and during our visit a second shower was being installed.

The fishing in their lake was excellent with a good head of Carp and particularly some very nice Tench.

The area is very quiet with some nice flat routes for cycling through the local villages.

Worth a visit is The Belvoir Brewery's restaurant in nearby Old Dalby particularly for a good Sunday Lunch and excellent Beers.

For an away from it all break at a reasonable cost, in my opinion, you would have to go a long way to better Pikes Oak.

Lovely site, nice and level. Toilets clean, good quality toilet tissue, could do with blinds put up at the windows as I felt a little uncomfortable with the light on. Owners were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Nearby road was a nuisance for me as I live in an extremely quiet area, mowing of grass was done during two days of my visit which spoilt my stay somewhat. The pub in nearby Wysall was very warm and welcoming with a beautiful outdoor seating area. Very good choice of ales, which my partner was very happy about. Good areas for dog walking on site and nice fishing lake. I did not use the shower as it was a card system that gave a 6. 5min. Shower which would not have been anywhere near long enough as I am a woman with long, thick hair and my partner said it was not a great shower anyway. Having said that, it was nice and clean and fairly warm.

We visited Pikes Oaks last weekend and had a great time.

The owners are very friendly and most helpful, the toilets and showers are very clean and warm. There is plenty of room between each of the five pitches which are all a good distance from the drive making it very quiet.

The site has it's own fishing lake which is a nice size and very pretty just to walk round.

The site is just outside the tiny village of Widmerpool which has no shop or pub but has a renowned restaurant (The Pullman) on the opposite side of the village. Shops and a good pub serving excellent bar food are available in the village of Keyworth, a couple of miles away.

For a peaceful away from it all break with no hassle you would have to go a long way to better Pikes Oak.

We decided to come to Pikes oak at short notice because it is advertised (on this website) as being Adult only and having hard stands. Both assumptions turned out to be false!

The camping and caravan fields are either side of the main drive to the fishing lake and farm. There are six pitches with hook ups (the most weird set-up I have ever seen), on one side and tents pitched on the other side. Whilst we were there, out of seven units, two had junior school aged children and one had teenagers. (None were any annoyance, it must be said). There is neither site security of any kind, nor owner presence.

The site is about half a mile south of Widmerpool village - the most facility-less place we have come across - absolutely nothing! There are two shopping precincts and three pubs at Keyworth - 2 miles away, from where you can also get the bus to Nottingham.

Pikes Oak Farm's main interest seems to be the fishing lake, some stabling and the plant nursery. There are two toilet rooms next to the office, both have sinks with hot water, and one has a shower unit. They were always clean. They are quite a walk from the camping fields; there is nothing else on site.

The place is obviously on the approach to East Midlands airport, as aircraft pass over quite low, and at times quite frequently. They never caused any noise nuisance, and seemed to cease in the late evening. Certainly didn't lose any sleep because of them. Indeed the whole place did seem quiet.

Would we go again? Well at £13. 50 a night, I wouldn't rule it out, but we won't be rushing back.

We've just got back from a lovely long weekend at Pikes Oak farm caravan site, and what a lovely weekend it was. The site is nice and flat with plenty of space and very quiet. The toilets are clean with plenty of hot water. The fishing lake was great, although the fishing was slow. There are shops and pubs about 2 miles away, but we didn't leave the site. Every one was really friendly, and were hoping to go back really soon.
