We return to this wonderful small site every year it is run by the nicest family who always make people welcome. The two wash/shower/toilets are always clean. We have found people who go here return time and time again, its just a short journey to anywhere we want to go. We will be returning in August.

Our fourth visit to this little gem of a site. Always a warm welcome from David and Alison the site owners. Toilets always clean, grass cut like a lawn. Pubs, shop, chippy all in walking distance. Great site for visiting surrounding areas. Dog friendly. Always nice people on site to talk to. Will be back next year.

This is an adults only site which makes for a nice peaceful and relaxing stay. Alison and David do a wonderful job with this site and are always very helpful and accommodating. There is plenty to do and plenty of places to visit within a short driving distance. There are lovely walks around the site and well behaved doggies are welcome. You can stop for 1 day or much longer if you want which makes it a great stop over for touring. The price is also very reasonable. We have been going for a few years now and will continue to do so for as long as we can. We recommend a visit to this wonderful site.

I reviewed this site in March last year after our first visit there. Just returned from (I think) our 5th stay, our first visit this year.
Reading back through reviews, I agree that during last summer the facilities became troubled with cobwebs, but the owners must have been reading this website. Shower/toilet block now cleaned twice a day and no sign of cobwebs! I used the showers this time - easily regulated temperature, no timer and shower head adjustable so I didn't have to wash my hair every time. Hooks for clothing and a small stool.
Amazing price at £18, this time we had Motorhome, Gazebo and a car and so expected to pay more, but no, still standard price.
Location of this site is its main draw for us, so much to see and do in the area.
Referring to another review regarding the menu displayed outside the Coachman Inn next door, that has gone, sign just gave opening hours, but I think they change the menu regularly. Food is excellent but we couldn't afford to eat there regularly! As a guide starters range from £5 to £7. Main courses £11 to £18, the quality is reflected by the price.

This was our first visit to Coachman Caravan Park, and to North Yorkshire. We always try to stay on adult only sites were possible at our age the peace and quiet is welcome. This is a lovely small site friendly owners, and ideal as a base to explore North Yorkshire. As others have mentioned there is some noise from the garage which is next to the site, this was the sound of a jet washer but didn't bother us too much as we were out most of the day, and I cant complain too much as they helped me fix our tow car when the brakes played up and didn't charge me anything. Also from the pub which backs onto to the site this was mainly first thing in the mornings and sounded like them getting rid of the empties from the night before. We only have one small gripe with the site and that is, it would be far better if the showers and toilets were separate as some people can take hell of a long time to take a shower and when you have to go, well you know what we mean.
Other than that a great little site.

We stayed at this site. We found it was a lovely peaceful site. Owners very nice to talk to. All that you needed was here. Site was very clean and tidy. Toilets and showers was okay think they need a little tender loving care but the showers was nice and hot. There was a pub in walking distance we tried it but didn't fill that we were made welcome was going to have a meal in there but we found the seating rather strange at the tables there was only seating for three people so we had to drive out a little to find another pub so we could ea. T but having said what I have put the caravan site was lovely. Your own water supply. Electric hook ups was available which is a bonus. Our stay was very enjoyable. Thanks to the owners for making the site lovely and clean

We stayed here for a week and really enjoyed the site. We aregoing back again soon for a fortnight to fully search around this lovely county. There are two toilet rooms which are emaculate and cleaned regualy by the owners who are very nice people and willing to sort out any problemyou may have. Thegrass is cut short and also picked up so you don't carry any into your van. A fish shop and a small store within walking distance also a good pub serving meals close by. Water taps are behind every van also a television arial socket. This site is great.

Just had 12 nights at this site. We had one of the best holidays ever. Great location for touring around the area. This is an adult only site so it was lovely and peaceful to come back to at the end of the day. Yes there is a little road noise which you get on most sites but nothing intrusive and yes some pitches back onto the car sales room which ours did, you hear a bit of jet washing going on but that was about it. The site is spotless, toilets and showers cleaned 3 times a day by the wonderful owners who make you feel ever so welcome always happy and ready to have a chat if you want to talk. Nothing is too much trouble. Each unit has its own 16 amp electricity, water, Tv ariel point and a night light. There is a hotel next door, we didn't hear anything at all in all the time we were there and everyone said the food in served was lovely. This is one little hidden gem which I would recommend. For those with motor homes there is a bus stop around the corner offering a good service around the area.

This was our first visit to this 'Adults Only' campsite and decided to come here for one week after reading the good reviews on here and competitive pitch prices as everything was included with no extra charges. Having a pub next door that serves food daily was also an attraction for us as it should have been an added bonus to relax and eat out several times during the week without the need for driving.
The campsite owners are very friendly and helpful as they loaned us a long TV coaxial cable to plug into the TV socket (connection supplied on each individual pitch) as we were told that the TV reception is difficult to achieve via the caravan aerial due to the surrounding tall trees.
The total area of the field in square metres and having 10 pitches is somewhat smaller in comparison to some 5 van sites which although may be an ideal situation for a motorhome with attached awning (twin spacing) it can be a disadvantage for touring caravans with awning as it then restricts parking of the towing vehicle (triple spacing).
Although the site is behind the old 1776 coaching inn with beer garden, on the other side is a vehicle sales forecourt with maintenance garage at the rear which is directly adjacent to the campsite. Although the site is secluded by trees with no views of either buildings there is the very occasional noise from the garage which sounds like a power wash which is neither constant or intrusive to any degree of concern.
The main A170 Pickering to Scarborough road although quite busy is buffered by the surrounding trees around the perimeter of the campsite so any traffic noise is completely eliminated plus no air traffic noise was evident at all during our stay so the village of Snainton is not in line with any major flight path which makes a bonus for any campsite.
The adjacent coaching inn serves food daily and have a menu on display outside which should be an advantage for the resident campers next door but their 5 star hotel food prices don't reflect the incomes of the general working class unfortunately so is not classified as an attraction to the site in my view. It's not actually located in the middle of a tourist area so by charging nearly 11 quid each for Fish and Chips and over 3 quid a pint is not very attractive to say the least.
Regarding the local shops there is a 'Cost-Cutter' nearby in Snainton and a 'Spar' at the Shell garage in West Ayton (Scarborough Road) but there are no nearby supermarkets at all. There is a chippy in the village which is open Tuesday to Saturday but no Chinese/Indian restaurants or take-aways in the area so there's no chance of having a delivery to the campsite at all which was a bit of a disadvantage for us.
Although the campsite owners do make you feel welcome and can't do enough for you, due to the lack of amenities and excessive pub prices next door I don't think we will be returning again in the future.

Just stayed here for 6 nights. Lovely campsite and the owner very friendly though sadly we only saw her once. Not keen on the toilet block, 2 unisex rooms that needed a good clean. Cobwebs everywhere though the shower and toilet were clean. Think they could do with more facilities especially when the site is full. Try the denison arms for food, it was delicious.
