My wife and I stayed here for 1 night and cannot speak highly enough of this site. It's well kept with very clean and modern showers/toilets. There is a very helpful notice board with local information and if we'd been staying longer we would have taken advantage of the suggestions offered. We heard a little noise from the main road but it didn't bother us at all. After a walk through the village we went to the Coachman Inn for an evening meal which was very nice and reasonably priced.

Have just returned from The Coachman site after a weeks stay. Lovely well kept site. The owners on hand should you need them. Toilet / showers spotless all the time with unlimited hot water. Nice touch having water points by each pitch and freeview connection if you want it. (We didn't use it as we were able to get satellite signal)
We didn't find any problem with only 2 toilet / shower's just choose your moment right and you won't have to wait. Agreed there is some road noise though not as annoying as screaming kids on other sites we have stayed on!
The garage was right behind our pitch and made less noise than the wood pigeons. Food in the Coachman pub was very good and reasonably priced as was The Grapes in Ebberston. (Try the Steak & Ale pie. Best I've had in a long time) Both pub's dog friendly. In all a great little site, well placed as a base for touring the area.
We will be using this site again next time we head up North.

Having just returned from spending a very enjoyable 6 nights at the Coachman we can fully recommend it the owners are very friendly and the site is immaculately kept the toilets and showers were always spotless. Yes we encountered some road noise but no more than you would expect from the sites location and it certainly did not disturb our sleep and enjoyment. We have already recommended the site to friends and look forward to returning ourselves

Have just spent a week at the Coachman park site & there are certainly pros & cons to this site. On the pro side, the site is immaculately kept & well screened visually from the road.
The double toilet/shower block is again immaculate, modern & has lots of hot water. Every pitch has a tap, 16A hook up & a TV point so you are in effect getting a fully serviced pitch.
On the con side the site is noisy, it's adjacent to a busy road & we were awoken every morning at 7-7. 30 by the heavy traffic, we were out all day but apparently the garage next door uses a noisy pressure washer during the day (site owner did warn us of this).
Also somewhere nearby there are barking dogs plus we were treated one evening to the baying of the local hunt pack! As the site is enclosed there are no views so if you choose to sit outside your view will be the other pitches which all circle a small area of grass.
So the site is ideal if you want a base to go out & about from but it's not a 'holiday location'.

Our 1st visit to this site and don't think that it will be our last one. The noise previously spoken about is no problem at all. At the end of the day you are near a main road so should expect to hear the din of traffic but it isnt a problem, we heard nothing from the pub / restaurant or the local garage so please don't be put off by any previous comments in relation to noise.
The showers / toilet block are very clean at all times, the shower has lovely hot water and is included in the reasonable site fee of £16 per night.
Each pitch having its own supply of water / elec & tv point is a really good idea (just remember to take your correct hose line / barrel connection for this - we didn't but it was still nice even though filling our barrel not having to go to other parts of the field to fill up. )
The site situated near a road means there isnt really any near place to walk the dog, however, just a walk up the road and up by the side of the fire station will take you into the local woods. Just on site for a weekend so they may be other walks nearby.
Scarborough is just about a 20 mins drive away.

Just spent a long weekend at the Coachman Park, could not ask for more. Well looked after site, excellent showers and toilets spotlessly clean. Good pitches with own water supply and arial point.
Friendly helpful owners and very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble.
Pub next door which serves excellent food and village shop 5 minutes walk. The location could not be better, Scarborough, Whitby, North Yorkshire Moors and York all within easy reach.
We will certainly be back next year.

We have just spent 9 days on this site and hope to return there next year! Although we may go earlier when the children are still at school - happily there were none on the site however they were hundreds wherever we visited!
This site is lovely but its greatest assets are the owners Alison and Dave - they are by far the friendliest and most helpful we have ever experienced!
We had trouble getting the caravan sited and Dave was most helpful (and patient!)- he also came to help us on our departure - quite early in the morning (a day off work too!) to ensure we got away without a 'hitch'!
They really keep the 'facilities' very clean indeed, provided us with pegs for the awning (on hard-standing!) and a cable to connect to the TV point too!
OK there is some traffic noise from the nearby road(s) but it was never a problem and we live in a very quiet village in Lincs. Where there is no traffic noise at all overnight!
Similarly the garage next door - any noise is occasional and only in the daytime! Our pitch was not the sunniest and we do like a sunny pitch and have already earmarked one for 2012!

This site is the bee's knees quiet and secluded with excellant facilities. Close to general useful and good amenities ie. Pub/restaurant right behind site but it is a quiet place.
Close to Scarborough, Pickering and Whitby plus lots of other places of interest. Excellent farm/butchers nearby (Stepney hill Farm) who deliver to site free of charge beautiful meat.
On site hook-ups for mains elec, water and tv (which works well). Reasonable prices.
Helpful and considerate owners. Perfect ablution facilities. 1000% recommended we will be returning again soon.
Adults only so no noisy kids for us old fuddy duddies to get fed up with excellent.

We have just had ten wonderful days at this site. The site is extremely well cared for and the owners David & Alison pop in and out during the day always stopping for a quick chat or a tip as to where to visit!
The ‘Pub’ adjacent was both initially a concern but at the same time we thought could be handy. No need to worry, no noise, no rowdy behaviour. Nice little period bar at the front for a drink or a bar meal, but the business is really better described as a restaurant.
We have two small dogs so the dog walk just down the road was handy, especially when the weather turned wet as the track is stone. David also suggested we take a two minute drive down to the next village to let the dogs have a run through the shallow stream which they loved.
Incidentally look out for the Lake at Brompton at the head of this stream, just stunning.
Anyway we have re-booked for a long weekend in September and can’t wait to get back.
A super friendly little site where all are keen to chat and help out when required. Great !

This was our first visit to North Yorkshire, we visited the site with friends, 3 caravans in total an we loved this site.
The site itself is clean, tidy and very well presented, the 2 bathrooms were always clean with continuous hot water and showers with adjustable temperatures, heaven!
The site is ideally situated for all the local attractions the NYM steam railway is a must for steam train fans and heartbeat fans as well.
We couldn't praise David and Alison enough for the way they look after this site, we loved it so much we have already booked for 2 weeks next year. Can't wait!
