Just returned from another great visit to The Coachman. The site was clean and tidy as with the toilet/shower facility's looking great as always. TV points have now been installed on the power points making it easier to watch Emmerdale.

The owners Dave & Allison are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. They always greet you with a smile and a chat.

The site is in an ideal location to explore the surrounding countryside with places like Whitby, Scarborough and York just a short drive away.

I am looking forward to next years visit for another relaxing week.

On arrival we were greeted with the sight of overflowing rubbish bins, We were allocated pitch No3 as indicated on the board by the gate. It was a very small pitch and by the time our 4 berth caravan and porch awning were sited there was no room for our car, so we parked on a small grass area adjacent which left pitch No4 that was occupied very little space.

Unbeknown to us our pitch backed on to the pub and directly opposite was a garage. At 4. 5am next morning we were awakened by the noise of the drayman delivering to the pub this noise went on to approx 6am when shortly after the compressor from the garage started up then the noise carried on with cars revving up.

We had originally booked for 7nights but only stayed 1.

The loos and showers on this site were clean and adequate. TV reception was very poor, and the site did not look as there website shows

Would we return NO!

Just got back from this delightful site- had to admit when we arrived all we saw were overflowing rubbish bins which immediately made my heart sink. But this was all gone by two days later so think we just hit it after a busy weekend. We stayed Monday to Friday and can honestly say it was like staying in someones orchard. Plenty of room but we do have a little TAB and the toilet block was very clean with really good hot showers. The owners are very welcoming and always stop to chat.

Yes there is a garage next door but shielded by a hedge and very little noise- we were out all day though so it shut as soon as we came back. The gem though was the Coachman Inn next door whose food was superb- not the usual two for a tenner brigade but really good value at £34 for two of us two courses with drinks- a real treat so we went there twice!

This is a good base for touring- forget the big places but visit Robin Hoods Bay and Filey- a real gem.

We have been using this site for a few years, the owners David and Alison are really nice people who treat all the guests as old friends. The site is small quiet and with two clean recently revamped shower toilet and washbasin rooms, a local shop/post office/garage just down the road sells most things including gas. Lots of local pubs with good food.It is one of our favourite adult only sites and our first choice for Yorkshire, its easy to see why so many return again and again

What a wonderful site. Can't add anymore praise than already stated for David and Alison and the condition of the site. Will definitely visit again.

Our only beef was the hard standing is roadstone and this was very difficult to fasten our awning into and the steps into the caravan cut our groundsheet because of the sharp edges on some of the stones.

Also the pub behind the site is very expensive for drinks and food so we went elsewhere.

This is our 2nd visit to the Coachman it was better than we remembered the toilets have had a make over very tasteful, plenty of hot water spotlessly clean at all times site looked very pretty with lots of flower pots with summer plants

We are going back in August for a long weekend.

Sorry to sound a negative note here, but our stay was far from tranquil or peaceful-in fact we had booked 10 nights but left after only 5. The pub at one side of the site was busy, and car doors were repeatedly slammed, accompanied by noisy chatter etc. Owners comments: The pub which the park is set behind is without doubt the quietest pub in North Yorkshire and the owners I think would rather it not be called ‘a pub’ at all. It is in fact a very high class restaurant and has been in the national press recently for yet another award and is normally closed be around 9pm weekdays and 10pm weekends. Not to mention the fact that it only opens 5 days a week!

The other side of the site is a car showroom, and a jet washer was going most of the day. The road noise was another intrusion and constant. The garage nearby is a family run operation and again probably the most well kept in North York’s never working late and no workshop work over weekends strictly office hours only

I agree the facilities were excellent, and certainly the owners were very friendly. I also think the site is too small for the number of vans sited, we didn't really have any spot to park our car. Please view the photos on our website, there is more parking than you can wave a stick at! And room to double the van numbers if we were out purely for financial gain. Plus we own a large storage premises adjacent to the site with parking for around 50 vehicles mainly undercover should there be the need!

Maybe a good site for a few days, but not for us.

Can only repeat the comments from the other reviews, we had a wonderful time, everyone else on the site was very friendly too and the night I started an impromptu gathering in the middle of the site was just great. Everyone on the site gathered together and only the rain at about 11 pm stopped it.

Also it is so perfectly placed. No more than 20 or 30 miutes from. Well. Everywhere really. Scarborough, whitby, goathland, york, filey, flamborough etc. Just perfect.

Just make sure you take a mains water adapter for your van. No fetching water. Bliss

My Husband said I shouldn't give this site a review because more people will find out about this little gem.

The previous reviewers are spot on. Lovely clean site, David and Alison are fantastic.

We are going back for the bank holiday weekend, don't forget to visit David's garage in Thornton le Dale - its a classic car garage and they have some beauties

This caravan park is the jewel in the crown of North Yorkshire. The owners, David and Alison are the most friendliest people you could wish to meet. We were a party of 3 caravans and arrived to find our pitch allocations on a notice board just inside the gate. The pitches and the lawns are immaculately kept with pots of flowers around the park and the facilities.

The toilet facilities, but I would prefer to call them private bathrooms x 2, were tastefully decorated with lovely shower cubicles with lashings of hot water, hand wash basins, again with lovely hot water and toilets. They were absolutely spotless at all times and were always equipped well with paper hand towels, soap etc.

The park is for adults only and the peace and tranquillity were perfect for a relaxing break. The birds sang and the sun shone and it was perfect in every way. Alison dealt with our enquiry immediately on the internet and everything was handled in a thoroughly professional manner.

I would definitely recommend this site to anyone who is looking for perfection.
