Stayed here twice so far this year and booked to go back in a weeks time.

A fantastic Adult only site with a warm welcome and brilliant 5* facilities. We came here originally because my husband wanted to fish, which this is great for, I tag along because the site is beautifully maintained throughout and the peace and quiet is deafening. Bliss!

A great dog walk for our four legged friends and whilst no pubs/restaurants in walking distance, take-aways will deliver - I can highly recommend the Chinese - menus available from Carol and Peter the owners.

Wash and shower rooms are impeccably clean. Everything is perfect. Our go to site for rest, relaxation and, of course, fishing.

This was our first visit to this great site but it won't be our last on this adult only site. Carol & Pete were the prefect hosts.

Your pitch is literally on the side of the lake offering great fishing or simply a walk. Your pitch comes with electric & water supply.

The site is located about 5 miles from the city of Lincoln.

Excellent site, very clean, superb shower/toilet block, fishing very good, good for dogs, good dog walk & good walks not to far away by car, , location very good for all your needs, we will definitely be returning to this site have already recommended to friends. In another couple of years time when all the new plants have grown & established themselves this will be a 4/5 star site, the owners are doing a great job. Possibly the only thing is I could say as an improvement is that for people staying on site for a 2 days or more there could be a discount or a deal offered on the fishing.

A great campsite with fantastic lakes, views, possibly the most picturesque site we have ever stayed on. Handy extras such as soap and paper towels in toilets (4 WCs on site in 3 blocks and 3 showers, all unisex) a handy small kitchen with pot wash, fridge toaster etc. The 4 WCs may be an issue when the site is full in peak season although most of the pitches are populated with caravans and the occupants appear to use their own facilities.

A great friendly welcome and well supervised site, it is featured as a Fishermans site, we don't fish but the fishermen seemed a friendly bunch. This is an adult only site which suited us on this occasion. A little way from Lincoln, about £10 in a taxi or a 20 minute bus journey (£3. 00) unfortunately, no pub or any eatery nearby. They also do B&B in the house so many options. We would use this site again.

Our first trip away in our first caravan. A lovely little site and we were made very welcome by his owner (and chickens!)

He showed us the pitch and it was beautiful next to one of the lakes.

The shower / toilet blocks were spotless and well heated. There is a pub at the end of the village which was a little 'clinical' in its decor but the staff were very nice and the real ale very good.

Overall a very peaceful visit and we'll certainly be back!

Another gem of a site. We were greeted by Vince and Jane, ( what a lovely couple they are, nothing to much trouble for them ). Vince showed us to our pitch. No. 4. I had to reverse it passed some fishermen, and along the narrow strip. But I did it. And was it worth it, behind the van was about 5' then a hedge and owners pond, and when we opened the van door, we were about 10' from the lake, PERFECT, JUST PERFECT. ( a word of warning though, check your tyres before leaving, as we got a 10' tent peg in the van tyre. Don't know how it happened, as the ground was soft ). Facilities were OK.

Lincoln is about 15 mins drive away, we found a car park behind the castle, which was not crowded or expensive. And you didn't have to climb the very, and aptly named, ' Steep hill'. Fishing was slow, but well worth it. And the other fisherman were only too pleased to offer advice to me, & I was only too happy to accept. Very friendly site. Not at all pushy. We will definitely visit again. Thank you Vince & Jane for being helpful, caring, and understanding. Oh I forgot to mention the railway behind the site. It is a main freight line, so expect some noise in the early hours. But you do get used to it, honest.

Over all, a lovely lovey site.

What a wonderful site!Warm welcome from wardens and owners. Toilets/showers immaculate. First time fishing for my fiance in over 30 years and he had so much help from wardens and fellow visitors. Everyone was so friendly. Lovely walks for the dog. Didn't leave the site much but can highly recommend the ivy at Wragby for Sunday lunch. Will definitely be returning. Thank you for a very relaxing week

Just stayed at Langdale lakes for the second time and though I would leave a short review on this little paradise.

We anjoyed our stay at Langdale so much we rebooked for July and August. The site is a gem, beautifully kept, toilets and showers were spotless, the grounds are immaculate and much care has been taken in providing the best possible surroundings for the wildlife that is there. The lakes are also beautiful with Islands, lily pads, over hanging tree's, whilst sat fishing we saw kingfishers, tree creepers and much moor.

I found the fishing excellent catching 10 carp over 2 days on my fisrt trip and 32 carp over 2 and a half days on my second, fish size ranged from 8lb upto 16lb and what beautiful looking fish they were, also lost a large common which I would have said was 20lb+ some lovely commons and beautifully scaled mirrors. I was informed by the very friendly and helpful owners and site baliff that the lake record is around 27lb ( maybe next time I visit).

We met some of the lovely residents spent lots of time getting to know them as we will be back in August and hopefully September and look forward to seeing them again soon.

We didn't leave the site while we were there but I was told there are near by shops, pubs and eating places.

So to summarize.

A gem of a site.

Very friendly.

Spotless grounds and facilities.

Excellent fishing for both the carp angler and the match angler.

Thanks to the owners/baliffs and other caravaner's for making our stay a pleasant one and making us want to return again and again.

Think Yackers review is rather harsh as regards the seasonal pitchholders. We find everyone very friendly, chatty and helpful, and their maintenance of their pitches and gardens are a credit to them, especially as most are retired or elderly. The sounds of ducks, moorhens and other birds far outweigh the background noise of the nearby road and railway. The whole site is beautiful and picturesque and if you have a lakeside pitch it is inevitable that folk may wander in front of your awning as the whole of the lakes are accessible to all. Yes the carp fishing can be hard on Lily lake especially when spawning or in hot weather, but borrowing a barrow and moving your kit to a peg on Willow lake is usually very productive. A fish a chuck venue, no it's not. But for quality fish and a challenge whilst admiring the scenery and catching glimpses of the kingfishers, then this is the place. And if you are not anglers the nearby bus stop can take you in to Lincoln, Horncastle or Skegness for a spot of sightseeing or shopping. This site is our favourite place to be.

If carlsberg did amazingly friendly camp sites this would be it.

Very highly recommended site, the owners and warden can not do enough for you and and the seasonal pitch owners are amazingly friendly, even got free cups of tea from them, oh my god this site is so fantastic, the wardens can not do enough for you, if you have any problems just ask and they make the magic happen, if you have any complaints like people walking past your caravan and awning then man up and tell the warden or the very delightful owners they will do everything in there power to ensure you have a great stay so there's no reason at all to have any complaints if you tell them instead of moaning about it after your stay in a review

As for the recent comments regarding seasonal pitch holders being unfriendly what a load of rubbish, i am stunned, no one else has slagged them off in reviews so it makes you wonder if the problem is the person who left that review which i believe is the case, the seasonal pitch holders are wonderful warm friendly and welcoming, most of them are retired, some have been proud to serve there county as ex military men with plenty of entertaining storys and are proud supporters of charities such as help the heroes, i would 200% say they are extremely friendly and amazingly helpful, a great example of this is few months ago we had to return home for a few days leaving our van unattended unfortunately we had the 80mph gale force winds, at five o'clock in the morning our awning blew over the top of the caravan ripped all the pegs out and took the poles over the van with it, all our fishing gear, personal items, electrical goods, expensive childs toys was left in the gale force winds and extreme rain, wrong,

We received phone calls asking to ring langdale lakes urgent,

Fearing the worst and believing we had lost every thing including the expensive awning it self i rang the warden and was shocked by the reply i got, the wardens and so called unfriendly stuck up oap seasonal pitch holders including an old fellow on two walking sticks had got out of bed at 5am in gale force winds and heavy rain to stamp there authority (only joking after reading a recent review)

No, they collected every single item of ours and put them a safe dry place, carried our fridge freezer in doors and plugged it back in so we didn't lose our food, even the child's toys had been rescued and the awning was rescued and put back up all because of the seasonal pitch holders and wardens old fashioned kindness and british spirit to help others,

We now class these strangers as friends

The fishing can be very good even if you have a basic knowledge, last year my 13 year old son and his mum watching(its that friendly you feel safe leaving your wife and child to fish, the warden and seasonal pitch holders come round checking that all is well) fished on lilly lake with his pole and a tub of maggots on what they call the island peg he caught 167 fish consisting of roach in good sizes, rudd, bream, tench and everybody's friend the perch, his personally best on that lake is a 14. 5lb common carp, there's plenty to be had if you know how to fish, there has been people staying on the peg next to lilly lake that haven't caught fish yet ive fished on the next peg for a few hours and bagged carp so make your own conclusions i am no expert and my son is still learning how to tie his hook on so it can not be the lakes surely its down to the person fishing or in some cases attempting to fish, there has been a recent review saying its very hard fishing, time to hang up your fishing gear buddy we have never failed to catch on both lakes.

The site does have trains passing but we find you seem to get used to it and night time trains are kept to a minimum.

Our pitch was one of the ones closest to the road, noise was not a problem, we were either fishing or out for the day and the road is pretty much dead after 8pm, if you had a pitch next to the lake it would not be a problem at all as there is a long drive and the owners house blocking ant possible road noise the noise

Summary- do you stay or not!

If you like beautiful surroundings, amazing owners, wonderful wardens, clean and very well looked after site with great easy fishing that even a child can catch then its for you

Remember if you have the slightest problem, don't moan after your stay in a review its too late, man up and tell them they will go out there way to help you,

As for the seasonal pitch holders, i will warn you in advance,

They are very friendly, they may walk past your awning to ask if everything is ok or see if they can give you fishing tips if your not catching after all they know the lakes very well which helps if you've spent 40 odd hours without catching a carp !

Most people don't mind unless you're a miserable git, i suppose some folk don't like to socialize

Also if the seasonal pitch holders and the owners are having a bit of a get together you some times get an invite and free food
