We wholly agree with Mick S previous review;
We too had a very pleasant stay at this out-of-the-way site. Yes it is predominantly aimed at fishermen, but not a requisite. We aren't into fishing, but we never felt out of place.
A very warm and sincere welcome from the owners, Tony & Karen, who gave us the necessary site info.
Yes there is no shop or reception etc - but the lodge is where you can easily sort out any business. You get a feeling there is a lot more scope for this site - but maybe it's just perfect for those who it's designed for,
The loos & showers were spotless, with 3 blocks within a short distance - and if you had to wait (at all) it was very short
It has been an idyllic/relaxing experience for us - just what we wanted; to get away from it all
At £20 a night (with EHU) it's at the top of the bar for us too, given the lack of on-site facilities - but we wanted a quiet getaway -we got it for sure and was worth it for that.
Yes is a certainly a wee bit out of the way - and to be honest, Lincoln is double yellow line City - we spent over an hour looking for somewhere to park centrally - not a chance (15 - yes 15, 30 and 45 min parking slots)- you have to park on the outskirts and park & ride (bus). Accurate tourist information is well provided and can be found in the small kitchen block on site (a most welcome facility too)
We visited the George pub, half a mile to the left of the site exit - and the food was excellent (chef-cooked)
We would certainly return to this site in the future and would highly recommend for those who fish or want to get away for a peaceful break.

This fishing and camping site is fantastic.
Have had our caravan on a permanent pitch for the last 6/7 years. The site is beautiful - so tranquil and the fishing is great - carp, bream, tench, roach, chub and dace if you are lucky.
The wildlife too is great - woodpeckers, kingfishers and all the usual birds in abundance. Walkways are available for the dog owners or just you.
The owners are wonderful people as are their two dogs - all in all a brilliant site.
Have made some wonderful friends. Go on have a weekend or a week and see for yourself.

Had a pleasant stay at this out-of-the-way site. Though its aimed at fishermen, they take anyone if there's space. As we arent into fishing, we were sited on a quiet 4 pitch plot with plenty of room, to the rear of a new unisex shower block, away from the 'action' where the fishing pitches were.
We got a warm welcome from the owners, who pointed out the facilities (inc a second unisex loo block), but nothing else - no 'shop', reception etc. Which was no problem as far as we were concerned.
On the loos/showers, they were spacious, top notch and always spotless.
As the place is essentially adults only (though I believe they will allow kids who fish, at a push), it is very tranquil - when the trains have passed! We found out its right by a train line, but fortunately there arent too many running past. Otherwise, its a quiet, relaxing place in general.
At £20 a night inc. leccy, its at the top of the bar for me, but I suspect its because of the fishing thing that its so high?
Unless you've transport though, its a bit out on a limb for getting about. We did some walking around the lanes, and got the bus into the City of Lincoln - about five miles away, which is well worth visiting for its shops and architecture.
There is the George pub half a mile down the road in Langworth, that's worth visiting for the food alone.

First visit at the weekend. 1st class site and facilities with electric hook up.
There are 2 fishing lakes with the smaller one being the easiest to catch fish of all tipis and the larger lake being a big carp water.
There are pleasant walks around the site although it would have been nicer to be able to walk further.
You will have already read about the Chinese buffet and it is all true, if you have a big appetite then you must try it, and only a very short walk nearby.
All the staff and owners were very nice and welcoming. Showers, toilets etc were all spotlessly clean.
Would recommend to anyone.

First time here and have to agree with all the previous complimentary comments as to being picturesque, peaceful and the overall friendliness of everyone even the seasonal residents too. A fishermans paradise but being a non fisherman didn't feel a bit out of place. Nice nature walk around the lakes with abundant bird life on the many feeders(David Bellamy take note).
Two toilet blocks both with showers requiring 20p and a more modern one for 50p. Excellent site for visiting Lincoln with an hourly bus service near site entrance and return buses running quite late.
Now the Chinese restaurant down the road next to the level crossing has a gut punching buffet for a tenner and was pleasantly surprised to find a superb pint of Hobgoblin real ale in the drinkers bar area when all I was expecting was fizzy lager. Paid £15/night for two with ehu.

We have just returned from a week at this fabulous site. The owners are very friendly. Very cheap at only £40.00 for the whole week without electric. Toilets and showers were spotless, as previously mentioned the shower is coin operated and 20p gets you an shower for 3 minutes, which doesn't sound long but very do-able, although the 40p shower was much more refreshing.
The chinese at the level crossing is well worth it at £11.95 a head all you can eat buffet, with plenty of variety. The George pub in Langworth, doesn't look much from the outside but very pleasant and good food. The Lincolnshire Poacher on the main road into Lincoln is not recommended, expensive and not good quality. Tesco's is about a 10 minute drive and a co-op & Lidl a bit nearer.
Overall an excellent week and will hopefully be returning next year with a caravan.
Only one downside is if your in a tent you may have to barrow your stuff (2 barrows available to use) to the pitch if its next to willow lake, saying that with our pitch we had no neighbours and a fishing peg 5 feet away so it didn't spoil our time here.

We stayed two nights on this beautiful little site. We were able to park our campervan right next to the lake and virtually fish from the door. Owner's have clearly worked very hard to reach the high standard of this place. The lakes are well looked after with good fishing in a peaceful setting (apart from the very occasional train). The toilets and showers were spotless with plenty of hooks for clothes and towels. It was a short drive into the centre of Lincoln but the location was very rural with plenty of wildlife including ducks, moorhens, geese and I even saw a woodpecker while fishing.

A small but welcoming site, well maintained but quiet and relaxing. Has been much improved over the past few years and all for the better. Two new toilet blocks one of which is close to the Lily lake, with a small kitchen for the use of fishermen and campers alike.
Fishing is great for the novice and seasoned angler. Can recommend the Chinese buffet at the level crossings just yards from the entrance to the site

A small site with lakeside grass pitches and one hardstanding pitch, all within easy reach of the new toilet block. Only one large coin operated shower, but more than adequate for the size of the site. Beautifully maintained with wildlife taken into consideration. Very picturesque with good fishing. Tucked away off the main road, surrounded by trees, the only distraction is the nearby railway line which runs alongside the site, but after a while you don't notice it any more. No shop or clubhouse on site but there is
A Pub/restaurant and bus service to Lincoln within walking distance. Adults only site, so for us, the perfect quiet relaxing holiday destination.
