We came to this site quite by accident after finding out that the site up the road doesn't take dogs, must say it was a pleasant find.
The site is spacious tidy and clean, the lady owner is very pleasant and helpful, the toilets and showers are new and always clean warm and spacious, but think maybe a few more cubicles would be necessary in high season. (there were only 3 other units on site when we were there)
There is a shop tea room and two pubs in the village, the White Hart lets dog's in and the food looked very good although we didn't try it.
We walked up the old tram/taff trail bit rocky but worthwhile.
Just one small criticism never understand what my dog gets for£2. 00 per night. (oh well the pleasures of dog ownership)

Well what fantastic site, superb location and owners and well just very nice indeed, our second visit here.
We were on pitch 6 parked sideways and the pitch was circa 20 mtrs wide, the biggest we have ever had, joy of joys.
With the shop and pubs (3) nearby plus the Lake, river and Canal what more could you desire, 1 pub was great the other 2 pretty poor sadly.
Toilets wise although there lovely, having just 4 showers in total when there was over 30 people in our field alone I thought was pretty poor, having to stand waiting at times was a pain, or we walked up to the other one near the house.
Saying that though for the surroundings and peace and quiet it's well worth that minor moan. We will certainly re visit on pitches 5, 6, 7 or 8 as there huge, not 9 though as is near chemical waste point (yuk).
As with another's review wifi would be great, one that reaches further than the toilet block.

A wonderful site. Huge pitches around the outside of a large field. Each electric hook up has water.
Apparently tv reception is not good. We had satellite and were fine, but the lower numbered pitches are probably the best because of high trees.
Toilet block excellent. The site was full when I went, but never had to queue.
5 minute walk to 2 pubs (both good) a convenience store, cafe and bus stop.
Site owner was extremely nice and worked very hard to keep the site clean and tidy.
I will certainly return to this wonderful site and to the very charming Talybont on a Usk.
Highly recommended

This is an excellent site surrounded by panoramic views of the Brecon Beacons. The Brecon & Monmouth canal runs nearby. The site offers electric hook-up, shower/toilet block with plenty of hot water. A disabled facility, wash up and washing machine. The site has large open spaces and the farm and site is run by the owners and she is a great host. There are 3 great pubs offering good food and drink, the local shop is also the post office and it has a great cafe. Local buses run to Brecon and Abergavenny two great towns which offer many attractions. For the energetic there is plenty of good walking and safe cycling routes. We will most definitely return again.

This site is currently our favourite. Situated in a welcoming village, alongside the canal with 2 excellent pubs that both do good food and Ale and as a real plus allow dogs. We have always received a warm welcome from Lydia, to a clean and well maintained site. The pitches are huge to say the least best ever, hook up and water with each and trimmed grass. Beautiful views from the field very relaxing, and along the bottom is the river where our dog loves to swim every morning. Never had a problem (been about 6-7 times different times of year) but it's nice to know Lydia is only a mobile call away if they are busy on the farm. Much seems to be made of the toilets which are spotless, warm, always hot water, hairdryer and hand wash and toilet paper (not always so other places). Only 2 WC an showers per sex but we have never had to wait too long. Obviously people should expect busy periods and it is not that hard to adapt to a shower at a slightly different time of day be honest. No children ourselves but have seen all ages around the field enjoying the fresh air and freedom. All in all we love it and so does our dog Jake. We will be returning.

Lovely site. Clean shower block, only two showers might cause a problem at busy times. Two pubs just outside the gates, highly recommend the white stag for real ale and great food at a reasonable price. The canal runs right past the beer garden, great walks and cycling. Lovely cafe nearby. There's only one thlng that let's the site down, two pounds per night for a dog what a rip off would have given a higher rating except for this

Couldn't believe this site! It is very large but units are given lots of space. Owner very friendly and site very well maintained. Clean, modern toilet / shower block.
Short walk to Talybont and the canal - very strange to see canal boats passing at a much higher level than the road!
Talybont has a Post Office / shop and cafe. Three pubs within easy walking distance of site.
Talybont Reservoir a good walk - about 5 mile round trip but well worth it.
Lovely site and spot.

This is our new most favourite place! Lovely village, friendly locals, a shop, cafe, post office and 3 pubs plus excellent walks from the caravan site.
And the caravan site - what a gem! Lovely welcome from proprietor, Lydia. Spacious pitches, water adjacent to pitches and beautifully maintained.
A minor downside is the (possible) lack of showers/toilets; only 2 of each in the ladies and gents. It was ok while we were there as the site was not particularly busy but if it was full. ??
We were on pitch 9. An earlier reviewer said this was to be avoided as it was close to the chemical emptying point. It's actually Pitch 10 that is nearest to it - but not too close I didn't think. I mentioned this to Lydia and she said they were planning to put a sight screen around it to hide it at some point. If it does worry you ask for pitches 2 - 8 or 12 - 20. The only problem we had on pitch 9 though was acorns falling onto our roof from the tree behind!
Don't let any of these points put you off this is one of the loveliest places we have been!

If you like peace and quiet with fabulous scenery in the countryside this is a really lovely site in a quiet and attractive location in the heart of a delightful village. The site itself is easy accessible off the village road and is very neat and tidy and well-kept, with three fields, two for tents and one for caravans and motor homes. The level grass pitches are extremely generously spaced we have never had such huge pitch no hard standings but very short grass. Although there are no specific facilities for them there is plenty of space for children to run around and play. I do think it would benefit from having a few more showers and toilets there are just two of each for males and the same for females and one disabled but they were spotless and have free wall mounted hair dryers, and whist it didn't cause us any problems it could possibly be at busy times. Mrs Jenkins the owner is very helpful and friendly, it is a working farm and as such you will obversely have some smells and noises associated with a farm, we found hearing the odd moo reminded us we were away and enjoying the countryside. Mobile phone signal was none existent and if you want television you will need a three meter pole for your aerial and point it north.
The site is ideally situated for walking/cycling/fishing and also if you like photography the scenery is stunning. The Monmouthshire and Brecon canal and taff trail are just across the road from the site, we cycled into Brecon and what a lovely ride seeing all the boats on the canal and on the way back called into Royal Oak for refreshments ( well we thought it would be rude not to ) the beer garden is directly off the tow path and they are fine about taking your bikes into the garden. On another day we hired a day boat in Brecon £40 for three hours but what a way to spend a lovely afternoon gently cruising up and down the canal, everyone was so friendly waving and nodding to each other it was heaven. The X43 bus runs through the village at two hourly intervals ( check timetables on the Powys county council website )
The village has a shop/post office/off licence, cafe ( You can also hire bikes at the cafe to reserve telephone ) and two lovely pubs a very sort walk away, ( apparently there are four but we only tried two ) we can highly recommend the Star for food but we did have quite a wait so I would order about 45 minutes before you want to eat but that said it really was worth waiting for. The last morning of the holiday rather than dirty pots and pans we went to the cafe just to the right of the site entrance it opens at 8am and we had a lovely freshly cooked breakfast just the job to see us on our way. Oh and when your out and about look out for the plentiful farm shops selling delicious local produce. In the words of Arnie we'll be back.

A lovely campsite, nice and flat and plenty of room. Although only 2 showers for ladies and two for men, it didn't cause us a problem had to wait about 10 mins. The water lovely and hot, and the showers and toilets really clean. There are 3 fields one with electric hook ups for caravans/camper vans, a paddock type field for small tents and another field right at the end of the site for tents, a bit of a walk to the toilet block, but not a problem.
There are two pubs within walking distance and another 5 mins in the car. Canalside cafe just at the entrance to the campsite, is ideal for breakfast which is all freshly cooked, and locally sourced. The cafe also has free wifi. We cycled into Brecon along the tow path although about a 14 mile round trip its an easy cycle.
Would recommend this campsite Lydia always very friendly and helpful and does all the cleaning and booking in herself. Have visited the other two campsites in the area, and prefer this one.
