This site is really excellent, in fact I would go so far as too say that it is the best site we have ever stayed on. It is set right in the middle of a lovely village with 3 pubs, cafe and Post Office. The cafe serves a lovely breakfast, and the pub (cant remember the name but is the 'stone' built one with the tables out the front) is absolutely spot on. They serve lovely meals and is the only pub that we frequented each evening. You have the canal and boats going through, it is a lovely setting allround. The toilets are really really clean (and I'm fussy) and although there are only 2 showers and 2 toilets in the ladies ( I presume its the same for the men ?) I never had to wait in the morning. The site is very level with hills around and has a relaxing feel to it. We found our hosts extremely friendly, very approachable, and we will definitely be returning next year for another break. The Brecon Beacons are lovely and the people are very friendly when we went visiting the towns and villages. Again top marks for this lovely site and the lovely area. Thankyou for making our stay with you so enjoyable.

Great site with huge pitches offering great privacy. Plenty of room for recreation and staff are always so pleasant. Lovely area, nice village close by with smashing cafe for breakfast if you forget your cooking stuff like I intentionally did. Will be back very soon weather permitting and hopefully without the wife as she is tiring of camping now due to her arthritis. Doctor said to keep warm which is hard on cold nights and the damp affects her.

Spent a fabulous weekend at this site. With glorious weather, to make it more worthwhile, along with superb scenic views. Took my Granddaughter with me and we had plenty of space, to play ball games, etc. Toilet/Shower Block was very clean and tidy, also good recycling facilities. A few minutes walk and you're in the village. There is a shop/café, a couple of pubs and the canal. We took a nice walk along the canal on the Saturday and finished up having a drink in the Star Inn. This is a very picturesque part of the country and with a very highly rated campsite, it's certainly worth a visit.

Well what fantastic site, superb location and owners and well just very nice indeed.
We were on pitch 7 parked sideways and the pitch was circa 20 mtrs wide, the biggest we have ever had, joy of joys.
With the shop and pubs (3) nearby plus the Lake, river and Canal what more could you desire.
Toilets wise although there lovely, having just 4 showers in total when there was over 30 people in our field alone I thought was pretty poor, having to stand waiting every time was a pain.
Luckily the further 30 odd Duke of Edinburgh school children went early otherwise it would have been far worse.
Saying that though for the surroundings and peace and quiet it's well worth that minor moan. We will certainly re visit on pitches 5, 6, 7 or 8 as there huge, not 9 though as is near chemical waste point (yuk).
As with another's review below wifi would be great.

Lovely location surrounded by idyllic views of the Brecon Beacons. Working farm site near to busy Brecon & Monmouth Canal, a few minutes walk to two canal side village pubs, serving good food/real ales. Hearty breakfast at local cafe/shop. Friendly unobtrusive owners. Eco toilet/shower/utility block clean/adequate. Mowed grassy site mainly flat. Pitches generously sized & site did not feel not overcrowded even when full. Unable to access any TV channels at this site, however. A minor blip and we have already rebooked for later in the summer!

Just came home from a 4 nights stay at Talybont farm
And what a fabulous site the pitches were massive so we had loads of room so nice not two be van to van. The owner was really nice and friendly, the showers and toilets were spotless with free hair-dryers which is really handy if you haven't got electric, there's a shop and few pubs a 5 minute walk away.
All in all a very peaceful and pretty site will be returning again,

Another favourite site. We come back every year.
We stayed in August this year, while the Jazz Festival was on in Brecon. A 'fringe festival' was going on in the local village pubs and there was a great atmosphere and some great music.
The site is a little gem.
Situated right in the very pretty village of Talybont On Usk which has the Brecon and Monmouth canal running through. It has a village shop/post office well stocked with a cafe attached and there are two pubs in the village with two more just a little further out.
We like the White Hart for good food and its beer garden alongside the canal.
The site itself is easy accessible off the village road and has a pretty approach through the farm. The main field is beautifully set, framed by mountains and glorious scenery all around. The pitches are around the edge of the field and very generously spaced. There is access to the river running along one side. There are two smaller fields too - one often used for Duke of Edinburgh etc.
The facilities block is new; with toilets, showers, a disabled/family room and a separate dishwashing room. We have always found them to be clean and well kept.
I use a lot of the disabled room as I have walking difficulties and sometimes use a wheelchair. Mrs Jenkins is always kindness itself - helping me with any problems and always trying to give me a pitch as close to the facilities as she can.
For £15 per night with EHU this site is excellent value for money.
Brecon town is about 6 miles away with plenty of shops and supermarkets and in the other direction you have Abergavenny.
We love sitting by the canal watching the boats going through the road bridge and generally enjoying the charm of the village.
A nice trip out is to the quiet side of Llangorse Lake where there are water birds of all species. Its a lovely spot to sit with a picnic, one can see Canada geese, swans, ducks, moorhens etc etc Follow directions to Llangasty Church which is right by the lake. There is a small free parking area.
There are lots of little villages alongside the canal and locks to watch boats go through.
For the more active the area around provides much in the way of walking, boating, cycling etc.
This site gets 10/10 from me. We love it and recommend it highly.

Just had to put a review for this lovely site. This was our first time here. Located right opposite the canal. We had a great welcome on arrival. Just a 2min walk from a shop, pubs and post office. Food served most of the day in all pubs. Very spacious camping field with the middle area kept clear really safe for the kids to play. Reasonably priced. Toilet block ok but could have been a bit cleaner. Will definitely be back.

A last minute booking due to weather-affected plans. Arrived late afternoon in murky weather. The following morning gave us glorious views as the site is surrounded by forested hills and we saw some of the best that the Brecon beacons have to offer.
The site is on a working farm with all the associated sounds and smells that you get. It's by no means over-powering, but thought it worth a mention.
There is loads of space. We were pitched in a field with no-one else around. Given the recent downpours, it was not at all muddy and after a dry day, you would not know that some areas had experienced flooding.
Toilet block was very good for such a small site. 2 big toilet cubicles and 2 big shower cubicles. My only negative is that the showers are fitted with water-saving feature that switches itself off after 20 seconds. I understand the need, but feel that it was too short.
Post Office/General store just around the corner that supplied most things. Also Information point and were extremely helpful. The cafe part opened at 8 in the morning and did a smashing breakfast.
The Star Inn were hosting the last day of a beer festival that Sunday. By the time we were set up, showered, etc. We had missed the Music and they were down to the last few barrels (still good though). Food had finished so we walked up to the White Hart. Good food served at reasonable prices (one tip, if offered 1/2 rice and 1/2 chips, go for it. You get the same of each as if you ordered just rice or chips. Unless we were very lucky). Both pubs closed about 10. 30 ish.
A good site to base yourself if travelling around the Brecons, or to stop at if walking/canoeing the canal.

Excellent campsite. In a lovely, peaceful and scenic setting by a river and just by the Monmouth/Brecon canal. Great for cycling, walking, running in beautiful surroundings. Toilet/shower block was clean and warm. Probably one of the quietest campsites we have been on but right in the village so a 2 minute walk to village shop and pubs. Tried the Star the first night which was a disappointment. We knew it was cheap pub grub but the service was so slow we nearly abandoned eating there and then the food really wasn't worth waiting for. Excellent meal the next night in the Travellers Rest just a bit further up the road but still only a short walk - not cheap but food is sensational! Bad radio reception and only got about 8 digital stations on Tv but enough to keep up with news. Mobile and internet via mobile was good though. Would definitely re-visit this site.
