We all had a fantastic time last weekend for one of the campers birthday. The pitches are absolutely massive - the biggest we have ever camped on I would say. The field is really spacious as all the pitches are around the perimeter. There are plenty of electric hook ups around the site. At the moment there is only 1 shower and 1 toilet, but hey - that's okay for a 2 night stay. The new shower and toilet block being built should be ready later this month, looks really nice too. There are some nice pubs only a 2 minute walk from the farm and some lovely walks along the canal. We will all definitely be returning sometime soon. We were 6 couples in 5 tents and 1 caravan ages ranging from 38 -60 and we had brilliant time. Can highly recommend this campsite.

If you like peace and quiet, with fabulous scenery in the countryside - visit this site. We will definitely be back having just discovered this gem - in the heart of a delightful village with lots of walks, one village shop/post office/cafe serving all day breakfasts and two pubs. The Star serves real ale and lovely food and is a typical country pub(down to earth) but does possess a large screen tv. The canal walks are great and the X43 bus(every two hours) runs either to Brecon or Abergavenny (via Crickhowell)

Through stunning countryside.

Currently only one toilet and shower but the new toilet block is well on the way to being finished. Mrs Jenkins the owner, said it should have been completed by beginning of July. The rates when completed will be £15 for caravans/motorhomes and £12 for tents but should make a big difference to the site. The pitches are very spacious. We did have trouble with our TV - could not get a signal- began to think it was our Freeview box but returning home, we found the box working perfectly. That won't stop us from returning - we would really recommend this site. It is very spacious and plenty of room for children to play and ride their bikes.

Friendly owners, phoned before going, think I got last pitch. Had no hookup lead so had to beg for a spare one, nice couple lent me their spare, which looked very new, thanks for that!

Very spacious site, long walk to loo and Shower, but new block is being built closer. Pubs were ok(i was perhaps tired), probably favour the Star. Nice walk along canal, if it hadn't have been so cold and if I'd taken a jacket and long trousers! It was £12 for camper + £1 for dog.

Arrived at night and after knocking on the farmhouse to alert the very friendly owners of our arrival, pitched the tents then went to one of the two local pubs. Both within 5 minutes walk from the site and both very welcoming and pleasant.

The next morning had chance to look around the site before we set off up the Brecons for a walk. It was a very well kept and tidy site, next to a river and with a little stream running through it. There are two fields for tents, one small square field and one bigger field. There is also a caravan field.

The toilet block had one toilet, one sink and one shower. Small for such a big site but they were the cleanest and best kept that I have ever seen on a working farm camp site. There was evidence of a new block being built with more toilets and sinks nearer the fields as well. You could hire a towel for use with the hot power shower if you hadn't brought your own, which was helpful. I have to mention again, that the owners were ever so friendly and helpful but at the same time would leave you to your own devices.

The farm and its fields were very nice and the surrounding views were gorgeous. There are plenty of walks to be had in the area, from gentle canal side strolls to the more rigorous climbs of the Brecons. It also looked like the perfect place for cycling although we didn't bring our bikes on this trip.

Will definitely be back and will definitely stay at this site again.

I agree with everything said in the previous June review. We weren't organised enough to book a campsite and found this one by pure chance at around 8pm on a Thursday evening!
Good tidy, roomy site and very helpful owner giving us information on the the 2 close by pubs for food and another two locally. We had a dog with us which cost £1 extra but had no problems. We returned, again by pure chance on our return journey having found no others sites in the west and south Brecon area.
We tried out both local pubs for food on our visit and found them both very friendly, helpful and good food at reasonable prices and a wide choice. Should we go back in this direction again I wouldn't hesitate in staying again as it is a good position to visit many local places of interest.
Enjoy! (Only note I would make is that it is a few minutes walk to the loo and shower which is part of the main farmhouse.)

I have stayed at this site a number of times, and have always thoroughly enjoyed it,the toilets /shower are very clean although there is only one shower and one toilet, not a problem if you have your own facilities.
Its situated in the centre of the village with the local shop/cafe and two pubs on your doorstep,we visited both pubs which were both very good, serving good real ales, and a good choice of meals, there are a further two pubs in the village a short walk away,
the views from the campsite field are very pleasant and there is a lovely walk to be taken by the side of the canal,a nice quiet site with a very friendly owner, with a few options locally if the dreaded rain falls.

This is a very pleasant site in a quiet and attractive location with great scenery rising on either side. The site is very simple, but neat and tidy and well-kept, with three level fields, two for tents and one for caravans and motorhomes.

The facilities are basic but clean, there is only one toilet and one shower to serve the site, so a good-natured queue tends to build up in the morning 'rush'. The owner, Mrs Jenkins, keeps the facilities very clean, popping in several times during the 'rush' to have a wipe round, so despite the limited facilities it doesn't become unpleasant as at some other sites.

The pitches are extremely generously spaced, the site was 'full' when we were there but to look at it you would think it was half-full. Although there are no specific facilities for them, there is plenty of space for children to run around. Also plenty of space to set up chairs and tables etc.

The price for a tent was £8 per night for two people, I believe extra persons are charged for, don't know about children. I think caravans were £12 per night on the same basis.

The site is in the heart of the village, only 2 mins from the village shop and two pubs, both of which do decent food and drink. There is also a small cafe attached to the shop, which serves a strange if limited range of food. (Panini and fruit cake?) A canal runs right through the village and is pleasant for a gentle walk, or to sit by on a fine evening. The X43 bus runs from Abergavenny, Brecon, Merthyr and Cardiff (timetables on the Powys county council website).

The nearest main town is Brecon, which has supermarkets etc, there are also a wider range of smaller shops in nearby Crickhowell. Both within 10-15 mins drive.

Overall I thought this a very good site, if you want lots of facilities on-site then it isn't for you, but I found it ideal for a quiet break. I'll definitely be going back!
