When arriving on site we managed to get our party of 12 adults and 5 children all pitched together in the woods.
On arrival our first impression was that the site was run down, especially the toilet and shower facilities.
Although not well presented the floors were cleaned on a regular basis. Pegging the tent down was hard work as there were rocks under the grass here, there and everywhere.
However the woods did shelter us from the rain and winds that we had on boths night. As there was a few of us we made our own entertainment as did other partys around and about.
I would not go back to this just as a family however if there was a big group of us again would give it another go.

Firstly can't fault this site for people making you feel welcome
The sites needs a lot of work and on first impression looks quite scruffy and not set out well. I didn't think much to the toilet and shower facilities it is in much need of a modern block.
Although on first impression the prices sound quite cheap £12. 50 plus £3. 00 for electric hook up but that's only including two adults.
On the second night a lady came round to collect the money ( as no one was in the office when we arrived ). I was then informed that it was actually £17. 50 per night + £3. 00 electrics hook up and £2. 50 for an extra adult which made it £23. 00 per night as my tent was 7m ( 21ft )which was explained when I contacted the site and the biggest tent for the £12. 50 per night was 10ft (3. 5m) by 10ft. Not a big area for modern day tents and the fact that they only charges £12. 50 for a caravan under 21ft how is that fair
Although we had good fun as it was a girly weekend I wouldn't pay £23. 00 per night for this site as the facilities on offer don't warrant that price and I wouldn't take my children here as they allow noise till 1pm in the morning which was great for us but I wouldn't have been impressed if I had had the children with me.
We had great fun in the bar area with the line dancing as I said before where made to feel very welcome.
The site could benefit from a shop for those little essentials as you do have to drive to the nearest shop.
They do seem to be trying to update things here but I wouldn't call it a family site.
Had a great laugh but wouldn't rush back. Really couldn't fault the staff at all though

Quite a mix of reviews here! I read these before I booked in and was prepared to give the site a go - and I was right to do so! There are some valid points here but overall we were very pleased with our stay.
The booking office was tricky to find, though signposted, and there was no-one there when we arrived but it was easy enough to go into the saloon and find someone. I feel the rates are very reasonable and match the facilities.
The tent pitches are not marked out and I think this would be an improvement. We camped by the pond and something as simple as a low fence marking the camping area with plot numbers on the fence would do the trick.
The toilet facilities were adequate - I don't know anything about a new block as this seems to be an old one, included in the side of the saloon building back to back with the saloon toilets accessed from the inside. One shower and 4 cubicles in each, old facilities but clean and functional. Plenty of toilet paper.
The washing up facilities under a rain shelter outside were also fine - nothing flashy or posh but just what is needed. There is a portable block of 4 showers that I never needed to investigate.
The children's playground was fine for us with 6 and 2. 5 year old boys, and visible from the camping area by the pond. They also enjoyed cycling around the site, the camping, tourers and residential caravan parts including cabins and static caravans with Country and Western themed names and decorations.
The people were all really friendly and welcoming and tolerant of lively small children. The children who live on site had some toys in the games room which were happily shared, I didn't notice a TV room.
My children were disappointed that the mini railway was overgrown, we followed it through the undergrowth all around the island and past the little station. This could become a mown footpath route or route for cycling around, it's just wasted space at the moment.
We enjoyed the saloon bar but were disappointed that nothing really happened on the Friday night until much later, probably 10pm when the music etc. Was on from 7pm. We had a good meal though. Enjoyed seeing the cowboys and other westerners on the Saturday night, some costumes that were different from just the standard cliches, and the shop selling western wear was interesting with items for all budgets from 'fancy dress' to 'serious westerner'.
Some of the regular line-dancers were really friendly and helpful to a new starter. They went out of their way to include me and ensure I got to dance. The food, music and atmosphere in the Saloon was consistently good. Nobody asked me to pay even when it was a £5 a head band in there on the Saturday night.
We enjoyed the Sunday car-boot sale. I doubt it's the biggest or best or any such label but they didn't disturb us on setting up or when it was in full flow and there was a variety of types of items from general house clearance to some more specialised 'dealers' of crockery and glassware. Great for the kids to spend a modest amount of pocket money and get a lot for it!
Improvements. Demarcation of tent pitches so that it is clear which access lane to use for which pitches and where the boundaries are. If this were done with low fencing then the ball games area between the pond and the playground would be improved enormously by a low barrier fance as well.
A better idea of opening times and event times. There is indeed dancing on the Sunday afternoon as well - someone had said 'all day Sunday' but I only discovered a really attractive session of line-dancing going on at 2pm when I had made arrangements to go off site. I would have planned my day around that session if I had known about it! Even a noticeboard would do! I'm sure the site could also benefit from offering a line dance class on a Saturday or Sunday morning, there are obviously experienced and enthusiastic dancers around and this would add to the theme or event/experience side of the site which is the main thing that makes this site stand out.
The site could do with listing that there is a good laundrette less than a mile off site. Next door to a second hand bookshop and fairly near to McDs where we waited out our wash cycles. Very convenient! There is also a very impressive playground in Lytham, near the Railway Station.
My boys want to go to the 'cowboy campsite' again and I will be very happy to take them, especially if I can get some more dancing in once they are in bed or whilst they are occupied by the the car-boot sale.

We visited this site last year - we found the staff helpful and friendly but the site was rather run down and over run. The staff didn't seem to want to turn people away - hence the fact it was crowded. We had 5 other tents literally with 1/2 foot of our tent all big families
The bar / restaurant is very good but was also very noisy - we couldn't get to sleep until way after 11. 30/midnight ish, as our son was 5 we thought this was a little too late
Very close to Blackpool and over sandy beaches but for us just not worth it as the bad points out weighed the good. Sorry x

I booked this site for a birthday weekend away with a country and western twist and we weren't disappointed. Lovely flat ground, well cut grass to pitch the tent on, really friendly staff from booking in to the staff at the saloon bar.
The kids loved the play area, kept them well amused and they were well within eyesight of where we were pitched. The horses in the paddock got a few treats too!
The entertainment in the saloon bar was fabulous and I even had a go at line dancing.
The toilet block was new as was the shower, which was red hot, powerful and free! The only downside to the toilet block was the cleanliness and this was in now way down to the staff not cleaning them. They were cleaned twice a day, every day but unfortunately other campers must have left their manners at home and felt fit to throw toilet paper all over the floor, leave empty shampoo/toiletry bottles all over them, didn't clean the sinks out after cleaning their teeth etc. The staff however did a sterling effort at cleaning them up but it was disappointing that fellow campers couldn't clear up after themselves. Toilet facilities are only as clean as the last person who uses them leaves them. If you read reviews about the toilets on this site not being clean, don't blame the staff for not doing their job, they did, the public didn't!
The woodland area would have been a lovely place to pitch, quite sheltered and quiet but when we went there wasn't enough room for our camping group unfortunately.
People were fishing in the lake and some had quite a few catches. Dogs are allowed as long as they're on a lead. There wasn't any dog mess around and the site was clean.
Fires are allowed as long as their off the floor and we were basically left alone to do our thing, which was good.
Electric hook ups are available but all were full when we went. However, watch out for the cables running from the electrical boxes to the tents/caravans. Very long cables, bit of a hazard really because I tripped over a couple of them.
I would recommend this site to anyone, a lovely place, great entertainment and friendly staff.

We arrived here on Saturday the 28th of may not knowing what to expect because a friend had booked the site. So we read reviews which made me and my wife quite worried more so because we have 2 small children. When we got to the site first impressions aren't the best but the staff and wardens are very friendly and helpful. The pitch was more than big enough with electric the toilet was a bit dated but clean but only one shower inside there was some portable showers out side. We went to the club house on the Saturday and Sunday night which my family and my friends family enjoyed.(not being country and western fans.) Sunday we decided to eat in the club and found the food very good. All in all the site does need some attention and we could see they are slowly doing work to the site but we did have a good stay. There's is a nice park for kids also the town of lytham is only 5 mins away by car.

This was the most expensive camp site on our trip . No trees for shade or wind protection, the shower and toilets were poor - throwing some toilet cleaner in the loo just isn't enough. The shower (only one) flooded due the plug being blocked with hair and no soap at the sinks.
It is a good distance from town on a busy road, so walking to the local is not an option. There is a lot of activity around the site with cars coming an going to Hog Roasts, Car boot sales, permanent residents and line dancing (all using the campers toilets). An uncomfortable feeling when you are staying in a tent.

We (family of 4) booked onto this site just for one night, first trip of the year. We did read the reviews and we looked at their website and were impressed with the photos an blurb so we booked! It cost 18 for 4 incl elec.
I can't comment on the Country Western aspect, we didn't go for that, the place is in need of TLC it's scruffy, and needs litter picking around the pond areas.
My husband said the showers were acceptable but I didn't use any facilities.
There is a disused mini rail track, over grown which is a shame, the kid's park consists of a tree like construction with a swing, slide and monkey rings. The blurb states Golf Onsite but I didn't see anything to do with Golf! As for the car boot, terrible, not the fault of the owners but certainly not the biggest and best in the North West!
We didn't try the food because we'd been told previously that a tribute Eagles band were playing and we'd have to pay a fiver entrance fee (per adult) as the restaurant forms part of the seating for the main Act. (To be fair they said on arrival that they would give us wrist bands but by this time, we'd made alternative evening arrangements).
To be fair, the lady who took our money was lovely, our kids enjoyed themselves with their fishing nets, the weather on Saturday was lovely and the noise from the club wasn't so bad that you couldn't sleep, so not all bad.

There seems to be a lot of changes in progress, we have never camped before and found the staff at this sight very helpful and friendly,
we enjoyed full use of the facilities and the nightclub was really fun, we are not westerners, but, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so much so we booked again for the end of march,
the food was brilliant and the other campers and resident campers were all friendly, there is also a carboot on sundays and that suits me down to the ground.
Blackpool is 10mins down the A584 through Lytham St Annes, another bonus is the driving range right next door, as I am a fan of golf and like to play this scores loads of brownie points for the camp sight. This is a great little camp-site, so its a must try.

We booked into this site for 4 nights over the half term break in February, but only stayed for two nights. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. There is one electric shower for men and women, not very clean, the electric tripped when we ran the heater and the kettle at the same time, also the site has no gate or security. Pitches are not marked out so we had someone pitch up next to us on the right and parked their car outside our caravan door. There is also road noise.
Location is good for Lytham St Annes, very close.
