We have used this site as a one night stop coming and going from Dover. It's about 20mins from the port and very near the motorway. You do hear traffic noise which seems to be constant but don't let this put you off a great site for stopover. Level grass pitches which are pretty hard so no sinking problems! EHU and no specific marked out pitches. Clean and adequate toilet/shower facilities but you pay a pound for a timed shower
The pub is delightful and the owners will give you a pleasant welcome and the pub food and drink is excellent.
I would definitely recommend this site.

Great place to stop over We had electrics, camping facilities were adequate for a short stay, The Drum Inn is A Delightful old pub and a really friendly welcome from the owners, plenty of choice for food, good food and large Hearty portions. Cosy Interior and a log burner. All in pleasant surroundings ! short walks close by, Ideal stop over for ferrys or Channel Tunnel, all near motor way so back on track for tunnel or ferrys.

The site appears to be divided in two by a line of trees. We pitched to the left of the trees and the ground was generally uneven but not a problem. Facilities are unisex, basic and dated but clean and useable - two toilets, a sink and a coin-operated shower. Handy pub with nice food and a good pint. Extremely handy for the Eurotunnel only a maximum of 10 minutes away. Road links excellent to the site but possibly a little tight getting out of the pub car park, depending on other traffic (they were having a delivery from a beer lorry when we were ready to leave). There is road noise from the nearby motorway but only one of our party of four noticed it during the night. Highly recommended for overnight stop before or after using the Channel Tunnel.

We stopped off here as it is the closest site to the tunnel and wanted to overnight before continuing to France. We were not expecting much however we were pleasantly surprised by this site and the pub. The facilities were basic but functional. The pitches were level and the grass cut. It is just a field with EHUs but what makes it so good in my opinion was the pub. The real ale was fantastic and the food was excellent value for money. I would not hesitate stopping here again and only wish we had booked 2 nights instead of one. When we set off to the tunnel in the morning, the car wasn't even warm on arrival it was that close. One word of warning. BOOK EARLY.

Stayed one night here as a stop over en route to Calais. I will certainly stay here again
I can't comment on the showers as I didn't use them, and I only used the toilet in the pub which was immaculate.
We were allocated a huge pitch which was lovely, and overlooked the fields. We ate in the pub, the food was fabulous and a varied menu. I would recommend booking a table.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Pitches were level, and spacious

We stayed here for the first time before out Tunnel crossing the next day. We had already eaten before we left home but wished we has waited and tried the home cooked food on offer. We were made welcome by the owners, the pub is very cosy & clean. My husband is real ale fan and gave the beer an A*! The grass site was perfectly well maintained as was the wash room facilities.
We will certainly be back, it is so convenient for the tunnel & will eat too.

We normally don't leave reviews where we have stayed for only one night en route to the Chunnel but The Drum is a site we will use for longer stopovers in future. The on line booking works well and you check in at the bar for a great welcome and a great selection of beer and good wines. Remember to book a table for dinner when you check in at weekends as it is a popular drive to location for the locals. Very good toilet facilities. EHU's and some hardstands for motorhomes but the terrain is hard so no problems getting set up anywhere. We have tried others in the area but will definitely return to The Drum

I have used this site over the last three years it is situated just off the M20 junction 11, the Chunnel exit is 11A. The location for a Chunnel crossing could not be better. There is a reasonable slope on the entry/exit on the site but I have never had any issues getting on or off. The site is split between electric hook-up and non-electric pitches and I paid £18 with electric this year (2013). All pitches are flat and water and waste are close by. There are toilets and shower facilities available, the shower is £1 for ten minutes. The toilet doors do appear to be home made and you could look through them if you wanted. The toilets and shower were spotless: Toilet roll, soap, hot water and roller towel are all provided which was better than what we had in France. The Campsite is situated within the grounds of a pub, south of England prices for drinks, I have not dined there however they always appear very busy. I would not hesitate to recommend this site but be mindful that it is predominantly a night stopover and there are early risers going to the Chunnel.

This was our 3rd visit to The Drumm Inn.
The site is very handy for ferries and tunnel and really the market the site caters for, everyone we saw on site was only stopping for a single night. The bar staff who checked us in are very friendly and happy to help where ever possible. Some reviews comment that the entrance is tight, although taken at sensible speed it really is not a problem.
The ramp up to the site from the car park is steep but again taken slowly is not a problem. Although some caravans do scrape there stabiliser legs we did not and looking at the drive way the pathing is not badly scored so I assume most do not have a problem.
The pub is great, the food does not fall into the value range but is great quality and they do cook it just as you ask. We spent about £135 for 7 of us, but we did sample a guest cider, a couple of bottles of wine and soft drinks for the kids. Well worth as the service was excellent and it makes a nice end to a holiday.
This site is our first choice for a stopover site in the area.

This was our 2nd visit within 6 months. The location being so close to the ferry is ideal, as we arrived early evening and left early. The fact that the food is good and there is a selection of good draught beers in this busy pub makes it better.
We parked up in the car park again for reasons I mentioned in my last review, and a hook up cable was organised for us. We had an early ferry and there was a queue for the shower at 6. 00am.
We did not have any problems with noise, had a good nights sleep ready for a long journey the next day.
