Stayed here for one night as we needed to be in nearby Hythe early the next morning.
£15 for a pitch (without hook-up, although this is available if required). The non-EHU field was lovely and green and flat and you could pitch where you liked, although the left hand side has a large pylon and electricity cables running over it, so everyone had chosen to pitch on the right - even so there was plenty of room as it wasn't too busy. There are some wooden picnic tables which may be useful if you are in a tent.
The unisex toilet block was adequate and was clean. Washing up sink only has cold water, so not ideal, although the pub does meals, which looked very tasty even though we just went in for a couple of drinks. The shower was disappointing as you have to pay 20p per minute and the water pressure is not very high, so you need quite a few 20p's!
The staff in the pub were friendly and you just go into the bar to check in.
I'm sure we'll use the site again as a night before stop-off next time we go across to France.

This is a superb site for those travelling to the continent. The owners and the staff cannot be more helpful. The food is superb, well cooked and well priced. Be prepared to wait as it is cooked fresh, but only for a reasonable amount of time. This year we arrived at 8pm and they were busy and had a band on! Waiting time for 9 people from 2 families was a very acceptable 20 minutes.
We stayed twice, once on the way to France and then on the return. Both times we received a warm welcome from friendly hosts.
We are so happy with the arrangements that we are staying next year on both the outward and return journeys. Once we know when we are travelling we will be contacting Mick via the web site and that is all we will need to do such is their efficiency.
Even if you don't need to stop at the campsite why not visit for a meal before your ferry crossing - the only other options are Maidstone or Stop24 services. The food, friendliness and service just will not compare to what Mick and Suzi and staff can offer.
*the beer's also top quality!

Very useful campsite. Only one mile from the motorway junction. 5 minutes to the Eurotunnel and 20 minutes to the ferries in Dover.
Lovely flat field and good pub food.
Only 2 toilet cubicles, and one shower which didn't seem much, but I never had to queue and I think the reason for that is that most people are up and off very early depending on their ferry/train times, so you don't get the usual 8-9am rush you get in other campsites.
We stayed 3 nights (did a day trip to Calais and left our tent up at The Drum), and every day we had new neighbours who only stayed one night. One tent even arrived about 10pm, and was gone ridiculously early the next day.
The only negative was a group of women in two tents who stayed on Saturday 1 September. I could hear them talking in my tent (50 metres from theirs) at 2. 45am. They had already had other campers ask them to be quiet at around 11pm. However as the site is so small I guess it's a bit much to expect a full time warden.
I would definitely stay again if going for the train or ferry.

Well first, the booking process was easy, friendly and helpful, we only booked 3 weeks before we were crossing at Folkstone.
On late arrival 4 scampi in the baskets and cider was a joy at 9 pm and a great Site. The Menu looked great and the food was delicious.
Mick was helpful friendly and we had a great position.
Busy pub which is always a good sign and location is superb as we wont miss out on a stop over when we go abroad.
Lovely little find thank you.

We found this site by accident when being let down by another local site about an hour before we were due to leave as they were flooded and after some frantic searching and phoning found this site.
What a find. The site is well maintained and well drained. The campsite is on the grounds of the pub and run by the owners of the pub as well. They are a very pleasant couple who are very amenable and will do all they can to help.
Currently they have 7 electric hookups I think but they say more will be installed.
There is a small (unisex) toilet block on site with 2 toilets and a sink and a large shower cubicle. The shower is 20p per minute. The toilets were well maintained and clean.
The pub offers a good menu and I can recommend the food. Considering we got there right at the end of when they serve food we really couldn't find fault with any of it. Other friends visited us on the Sunday and had Sunday lunch there and again the food was fabulous.
Although we didn't use them this weekend the site is perfectly situated for trips to France and other local attractions and even shopping at the Ashford Designer outlet.
For the odd pint of milk etc you are less then 5 mins from the 24hr services at jct 11 of the m20.
Being so close to the motorway I expected to hear it but couldn't at all from the site.
Will definitely be returning for a more scheduled visit.

Very handy for the tunnel (literally minutes away) and useful if you want to have a meal in the pub. Reasonably level field.
OK for overnight but I thought it was expensive @ £18 including electric hook-up but then you had to pay extra for a shower (metered).
Would probably use again because of the convenience.
Considering it was so close to the pub, we weren't disturbed by noise.
I'd like to comment on the pub, which looked warm and convivial, but I fell off the caravan step and sprained my ankle so instead of relaxing with a drink, we spent the evening in A&E!

Very good site for the tunnel.
We didn't do anything other than park overnight, but it's about 5 minutes away from the tunnel, so full marks on that score.
The site is level in most places, we could easily drive the van to level it, without blocks.
Two unisex toilets and a wash basin, chemical disposal point, so all we needed.
£12 (stated as £10 + vat) for the night without electric, so a good price for the stop.
It does have a small pylon with overhead cables in the campsite, so be aware if you don't want to park under or near a 33, 000 volt powerline it's probably not the right site for you though.
If that doesn't worry you it's an ideal site.

Fantastic site for early access to the ports. Only 1 mile from Junction 11 of the M20 but you would never know.
We arrived late and was greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our pitch.
All pitches were grass and some had EHU which were hard to find in the dark.
Great beer in the pub which was a welcome relief.
We didn't use the showers as we left early morning but the toilets were clean and modern although they were not separate male/female
Excellent location and will definitely use again.

We stayed here for one night on our way to France. We arrived quite late so it was a mad panic to get the tent up and get into the pub for a meal.
The landlord was great and made sure our table, which was prebooked, was still available even though we were an hour late.
We have a fairly large tent and had to squeeze in between two others as the site was fairly busy, as it was only for one night it didn't matter.
The toilets are unisex and although very clean my wife didn't like them at all. On her first visit she had a couple of young boys about 13 years old trying to peep into the cubicle she was using. I had to go with her and stand guard by the door on the next visits.
The site is perfectly located for the crossings to France but next year I will probably find a site with separate toilets.

Superb site which given the location is more than adequate for a short stay or overnight when transiting Dover / Folkestone.
Very welcoming landlord and a nice level pitch for an overnight stop before a 10am sailing to France. All pitches are grass and some have hook up. Our one night stay was £15 with EHU.
Lovely hot shower in the morning but the bathroom facilities are Unisex which my wife found more than a little unpleasant. The metered shower costs £1 for ten mins and did all three of us nicely. Meter takes £ and 20 pence coins.
Standard pub food but excellent quality and value for money. Four well kept real ales and welcoming locals.
Can't recommend it enough although the unisex facilities won't be everybody's cup of tea.
