We have just stayed for 4 nights at this camp site, and I would like to say how tranquil and peaceful the site is, although there is only one toilet and one shower and these are spotless. There are a few footpaths from the site, ideal for exercising our cocker spaniel. We hope to stay here again shortly.

We started camping in 2012 with quite a few bad experiences. We then found Greengate farm and also our expectations of camping just turned around. Stella and family are so accommadating nothing is too much trouble, bad weather set in, they came too check we were ok. This will be our third year going to Greengate, I love the peace, the quiet, the friendly people who stay there, an we cannot wait too book our place on Greengate Farm yet again. We just feel after long days working this campsite is our relaxation and our chill zone. When you stay you must take the walk to Bedale it`s so relaxing. Stella will gladly give you the directions.

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Greengate Farm. It has a lovely clean shower unit and toilet facility. There are 12 units on the site so not too big. Very private. Stella came to introduce herself and was very friendly. We were then left alone for the rest of the weekend. We stayed here as our daughter was singing at Bedale for the music festival. Bedale is a lovely town with a great indian restaurant (Taste of India). Our daughter sang in Tallulah's which is a very friendly wine bar with a great selection of tapas food. This really is a gem of a site and accessible to Richmond and Bedale. We paid £5. 00 for a taxi into Bedale but can be walked easily. We will definitely be back.

Greengate Farm campsite is a single field with lovely large pitches and stunning views. The shower and toilet are spotless. There is also a building containing local tourist leaflets, ideas for walks and a fridge freezer that campers can use.
There is so much to see and do in the area. We would recommend a visit to the watermill that is a couple of hundred yards from the camp site. The miller, Lionel, takes you on a personal tour, explaining the milling process and the history of the mill. It's fascinating.
I would recommend this site if you like your peace and quiet to only be broken by birdsong, sheep and the gentle throb of a tractor ploughing some distant field

If you are looking for a quiet site this is it, great location, level pitches on grass, with all this rain we had site was in prime condition. Spent 4 nights, toilet and shower on site, (never used)but very clean. Deffo be going back. A must is walk down to farm and see pigs. Honesty box on drive for farm produce etc. Plenty of walks for the dog.

We wanted a site near to Bedale as we were attending a gig at The Riverside Club as part of BAMFEST. We weren't disappointed.
Beautifully well kept site with immaculate facilities.
Complete silence but we were the only unit on the first day of their season.
The site is well organised. On arrival you go to the outside washing up area and find your envelope which will tell you your pitch and provide you with all the information you need to know. Stella came to check that we we're ok and that everything was ok - which it was.
There are no hard standings and it was little wet under foot.
The long drive to the site has a number of pot holes which they have clearly tried to fill in and might need a bit more filling in.
Great place to stay for exploring the area and not expensive at £15.
Would definitely visit again

Used this site as a stop over on way to scotland. Stayed two nights. Site was easy to find and much better than I expected. We had been quoted £20 per night but our invoice was for £15 per night which I think was more in keeping with the facilities. The site was exceptional for this level of site. Clean and very well kept. The small (single) toilet and shower were clean and free and hot water was plentiful. Large pitch with hook up. Spectacular views. Owners were very pleasant. A very quiet site but near enough to all facilities. Bedale is a few minutes drive away and is a very pretty market town with traditional shops. Although Tesco Express was due to open while we were there so don't expect things to stay as they were sadly. WE visited the Pickering railway which was about an hour away. Would definitely go back for a longer stay.

Excellent campsite. Owners great. Kids had space to place ball games. Lovely and clean facilities
4 families with 9 kids turned up and had a brilliant weekend playing at the campsite visiting local woods and visiting Bedales park.
Had a great time and would love to return. We've now got a caravan and would love to go back with that.

Arrived late on a Friday in snow, The owners couldn't have been more helpful in getting us settled in and showing us the facilities. Local pub was cosy and served a very nice chilli. Walked back to the site in heavy snow!
Following morning was bright blue skies but 4' of snow on the ground. The Loo and shower we fine, Loo was heated, but the shower wasn't, but this didn't cause a problem as the water was lovely and hot and soon got the room warm. Although it looked an absolute picture postcard in the snow, I'm this would be a fantastic site in the summer.
Even though the weather was extreme, the facilities we up to the mark and a clean. Although we only stopped overnight, we could have stayed longer it was so relaxing.
Thanks for the help needed to get off the site due to the heavy snow, it seemed nothing was too much trouble. Well Done

What a lovely campsite. The owners are so friendly and always check everything is ok. Not over crowded and really quite. Very clean toilet and shower. The local walking maps in the shed are great for a nice walk. There is a fridge freezer to keep thing in. Clean and tidy site. Fresh eggs for sale on the lane. 10 mins walk to the local 10 mins drive into bedale. Shops and take aways. We cant wait to go again. Its a great base for exploring the dales.
