We found this site to be very crowded on arrival, with no staff available to advise which pitch to use. Having phoned the number stated, told me to find a space and to see him later, to 'officially check in' and pay.
Pitches are small, and offer no privacy. This became more clear during our stay with several people walking through our pitch to get to theirs, and also loads of kids running across pitches. The only way to stop this happening to section the pitch off with Windbreakers.
The site was noisy every night until about 10PM, but site has 'total silence after 10.30 pm rule
Facilities are Ok and are kept clean. Shop is basic. Charges 20 p per ice pack per day for freezing .
Nearby town of Wareham is OK, though about a 20 minute walk via the river. No local pub within walking distance.
Basically, site is ok during peak periods if you want a base to explore the area, and is probably great during off peak times.

We loved this campsite! It was the first camping trip I've done in about 25 years, so I was a little apprehensive but we had a great time. It's small, peaceful and pleasant and the owner was lovely. We walked into Wareham although did have trouble finding a place to eat, didn't really want pub food but ended up in the pub (can't remember the name of it). On reflection we realised we should have gone to the Granary pub which looked really nice.
The shop isn't open very long, but the showers and toilets were nice and clean, and the walk into the town along the canal was lovely. Although we got a taxi back as we didn't fancy stumbling along the canal in the dark after a few drinks! it would be a difficult walk to do by torchlight.
I would definitely recommend this site and we are planning on going back. Might not be good for families though as I couldn't see anything for children to do.

A quiet/peaceful site with plenty of attractive and countryside walks. A boat yard next to it which is lovely to walk around in the evening. Can get quite busy in the summer months but is managed well and never gets to noisy. The shower blocks are clean and well kept with powerful and free showers. The shower block is not to far from any of the pitches and is next to the office and shop. Owners are friendly and helpful along with the shop owner although both shop and office are only open early morning and early evening which is not as useful for people that lay in or spend the whole day out. You can get electrical appliances charged at a cost of approx 50p. A well looked after and peaceful site. Will be going again

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Ridge Farm over the bank holiday weekend. Although all pitches were full, there was still very much an air of tranquillity about the place. The site management were polite and friendly. The wash blocks were clean - showers were free. There was a lovely little camp site shop, the highlight of which was its' home-made items. Their home-made pasties (or oggies as they called them) were superb! Even though August was an extremely wet month, there was no mud. The site was conveniently placed for all kinds of activities such a beaches and country walks and the small town of Wareham was only a mile or two away for shops etc.

Booked a few days in advance as a base for visiting Swanage / Corfe Castle / Wareham.
Clean site. 4 toilets and 4 showers in each mens / womens. Showers cost nothing but heads on showers not great, but as cost nothing I will not grumble.
Lovely friendly owner, and shop staff. Fresh croissants / bread in mornings with daily papers.
Choice of noisy (with children) or quiet (no children) field. Chose the latter. Large field 20 second walk to toilet block at 3am on a rainy morning! Pitch up where you like, about 10 other tents in quiet field all spaced out.
Very enjoyable despite some bad weather.
Would recommend the 'Halfway Inn' on way to Corfe castle, as a place to eat, no need to book.
Great fish/chips in Wareham.
Hired a rowing boat in Wareham. Steam train to Swanage. Have a look at St Martins Church in Wareham.

This was our first caravaning adventure, and we were very pleasantly surprised by Ridge Farm. It was as described; quiet, uncomercial and rural - just as we wanted. No noisy activities, pools or playgrounds, just nice spacious grassy pitches with a lovely rural feel. The loo's etc were fine and there is lots to do in the area. We really enjoyed Studland Bay especially our 18 month old daughter.
We would certainly recomend this site.

Despite being high-season and apparently fully booked, it was all quiet on arrival and there was nobody to book in with - just phone the farm. There just wasn't any noise here, (we felt obliged to stop our kids from playing loudly!) - but presumably for those who want complete silence there is a separate 'quiet field'. There was a choice of marked pitches: although not all that close to the water, we found that the estuary side of the site was a bit damp and attracted annoying insects. There's a small shop and the proprietors are to be congratulated for having clean and pleasant toilets and showers, even though the building is a bit old. It's a short drive to Wareham or Corfe Castle. To avoid holiday traffic going to the beach you can take the back road to Norden Park & Ride and catch the train to Swanage.

The site was very wet when we arrived due to rain for most of the week before. The owner pulled the van on for us to stop the grass getting worse. After that day the weather improved and the site dried up quite quickly. Toilets OK, few cobwebs, evidence of no cleaning taking place. The young cleaner didnt seem bothered and took very little time to apparently clean the facilities. Shop on site had useful bits, convenient opening times etc, Nice area, Wareham lovely, Nice walk on the river bank.

Spent 3 nights at ridge farm and enjoyed every minute even though the site was becoming a bog this was the weekend of the floods over the uk - the site owners decided to stop cars driving on the grass which really helped - what has happened to the summer of 2007? Anyway enough about the weather my review of the site. Very clean site - with clean facilities, a great shop well stocked they also had fresh bread and pastries in the morning and hot pies throughout the day. Fair sized pitches and the site had a great relaxing feel - felt like you were in the middle of no where! The town of Wareham is just under 2 miles away which has a Somerfield and a Co-op, a Bakers, Deli and a Butchers plus lots of other little shops (a great old fashioned sweet shop with all the sweets in jars) plus a couple of outdoor stores if you need any more camping bits. The rest of dorset is a stones through away like Swanage, Weymouth and Poole all a must see. This site is a great site clean, friendly, peaceful, a great place to go!

Had a lovely few days here at the end of May half term week. Glorious weather helped a wonderful holiday but the site was really good for us. With two small children the size of the site meant that we were confident that they were safe and we could see them from our pitch wherever they were. Toilet facilities were cleaned thoroughly despite looking a little dated from the outside, and were the best we've experienced in our five camping trips so far. Day trips to Corfe Castle and Studland and Swanage by steam train were all great for the 5 and 7 year olds and the 30-somethings too. Above all it was peaceful. Would thoroughly recommend for young families who can make their own entertainment.
